All the staff are wonderful - personable, friendly, receptive, and caring. Caitlyn, Matt, George, Daniel, Janet, Chef Brenda, Cheryl, and a few others I don't know. The receptionist volunteers Carol and Anne are great too! Parking is free either on the street or in the underground garage underneath the library, accessible from either Chestnut St. or Cherry St. Check it out!

There was a "therapist" that talked to…read moremy family member about BPD, speaking negatively and incorrectly about what caused BPD in a person and stating that people with borderline personality disorder are "failed narcissists" and "they could never be wrong". Check your therapists' credentials, Maple, as there is a male therapist on staff giving false and disturbing information to your inmates. This is truly disturbing that these are the kind of people you appoint to help your inmates with their mental health.

The Smart Tots programs was very good, minus the food choices made for the children (see below regarding the food). He liked his ice skating classes (although that was administered by Belmont Iceland staff) and the chemistry class he just finished. I enrolled him in a hip hop class and that was abysmal. It was 45 minutes of the kids standing around. The staff was trying to teach these kids a full-blown routine (age 5-7, really?). Yeah, that went over well. The kids stand there and start looking at the ceiling, dreaming about the ice cream vending machine and Pokemon and, in the end, they receive little to no exercise or fun. The big issue I have with SCPR is the food the instructors are choosing to serve these kids. Hey, I am ok with a mini-cupcake or a little treat at the end of the week/program, but these people.... HOLY COW! Here is the snack menu for the chemistry camp for this past week: Monday: Granola Bar and Capri Sun (not the best, but ok) Tuesday: "Trail Mix" (consisting of gummi candy, nuts, M&Ms, & Skittles) Wednesday: Oreos (3) Thursday: Pepsi (with refills) and watermelon Friday: Cake Now, the camp did issue a snack schedule, but a traditional trail mix consisting of nuts, raisins, and a few M&Ms is vastly different than the farce of the "trail mix" that was served. Maybe their trail mix is for the trail to the local dialysis clinic. Additionally, Pepsi was not on the schedule, nor was the cake. And in the Smart Tots program, there were a few days where the kids were giving cake or cupcakes AND candy AND juice. Thanks, those were some fun afternoons. I can maybe, perhaps, somewhere see where an underpaid summer instructor would just shove sugar bombs at the students, but the fact that after complaining, the management MADE EXCUSES when their mission statement includes "health and wellness" ... well, I just don't see that these people give a crap about the children they supposedly serve.

And it doesn't stop there Hula for Health, Pilates, Salsa dancing, Kayaking, Fencing. For those who are less active knitting, stained glass, photography, cooking & wine tasting too, the list goes on. They offer something for everyone, from the old to the young and young at heart. They even have programs for those with special needs. If you have some free time & a little extra cash check out the activity guide, even if you are not a San Carlos resident you are welcome.

I've previously attended children's parties at Washington Park where they have a huge playground nearby. There are plenty of bathrooms here and there's even a parking garage which closes at a certain time. There is a parking lot and if you can't find parking there's street parking around the neighborhood. Beautiful facility, huge kitchen, plenty of space, even a stage in the Sequoia Room. I heard it can be pretty pricey and you get a better rate as a resident of Burlingame. You do a walkthrough with staff at the end of your event. You're not responsible for putting away the chairs or tables but you are responsible to remove everything and sweep the floor.

a really beautifully redesigned building, with it's grand re-opening in summer 2022. i came to tour…read morethe building and the classrooms/studios since i would be teaching there starting in the fall and was amazed by how sleek and modern the facility was. there are two floors of rooms and open spaces to be used, as well as outdoor space that opens into/connects to washington park. fast forward 2.5 yrs, i have been regularly teaching senior fitness classes here and absolutely love this new space. each room has built in controls for temperature control, including a control to activate the overhead fans. most rooms have access to an outdoor space/patio, which also allows us to prop open the door for natural, fresh air. several rooms have tv screens, and speakers, perfect for a lecture or presentation. the front desk staff is always helpful, and there are usually at least 2-3 folks manning the desk in case anyone needs anything. guests may park in the dedicated parking lot or in the covered parking structure. however, on a busy day, when many programs are happening, it's hard to get a spot so i resort to street parking, which is always free and plentiful. super close to downtown burlingame, so i often hop over for a coffee or lunch after teaching!

This park has a nice little playground, blacktop for basketball, and a big field for running…read morearound. The field used to be an informal dog park (off-leash), but I've heard that the cops have cracked down and started giving tickets to dog owners with off-leash dogs. The playground is okay, except that the bark gets displaced by bigger kids dragging their feet on the swings, and if your toddler falls in just the wrong spot, a tender head can hit concrete (I witnessed this once, and the poor kid had to go to the hospital). Not all the dog owners pick up after their pets, so it can be a little stressful walking in the grass if you're chasing a wild toddler (a pet peeve is stepping in dog poop - it ruins my day!). It's particularly inconsiderate not picking up after your pet in this park since the field is used by kids for soccer.

One of his colleagues in the Superior Court said to me, "he runs his courtroom like it is his own empire." The levers of justice were not evident in his courtroom. I do not recommend him.

Our justice system is an absolute joke. If you have a public defender they give you months instead…read moreof years because they "worked" with the prosecutor. If you pay a lawyer it's not much better. No one talks to you like a human being that is if they talk to you at all. Your lawyer will just hold your hand in saying "look they could give you 2 years because you had some cocaine and mdma in your own home, but they are being nice and going to give you 2 months". The whole time you just keep coming back for absolutely no reason for months or years for a different date, for a couple grand worth of drugs in your own home. But since the cops nearly shot and killed you over it, they must be justified in your actions. They don't even care if the main cop is there to testify against you. Literally no one cares or will talk to you straight, there was no arraignment in front of the public and incredibly little proceedings in front of the public. If the public could only bear witness to what goes on we might begin to understand the injustice, blackmail, and lack of transparency that happens EVERY DAY in this court. Kangaroo court.
