I told him 10 times that I got the confirmation and showed him the screen shot and he still said I didn't have an appointment. So rude and inconsiderate. I told him we can wait and he said "you can wait as walk in and will be waiting till end of the day" I still got the number and got called at 1pm and successfully get my work done. I don't know why the security was being so mean to us and kept on telling us that we don't have the appointment even we have the screenshot. This only show how unprofessional the security is. I wish I had noted down his name and I'll definitely give a horrible survey with his service if I receive one.

No one can take the necessary steps to correct appropriately; just verbal comments that yep it's wrong. Their letter they issued to him on the steps they take wasn't even correct. Fail!!!!

I noticed they had outhouse style restrooms which were cleaned, stocked with toilet paper and hand sanitizer. The path down is slightly downhill, and is dirt paved. Wear shoes you definitely do not mind being covered in dirt. Maybe a three minute walk. There were people picnicking quietly for an afternoon date on the lawn with a blanket, that's a great idea. There is a large grass area for many families to enjoy together. Seeing it in person was really nice. Brought some teenage girls here who really enjoyed it. We enjoyed taking some pictures together. I definitely see why this area is used as a professional photography spot!! Will I come here again: if in the area and cooler weather absolutely for a gorgeous family style picnic!!

There were at least three people doing elaborate professional photo shoots and dozens of what I can only describe as full-on Instagram productions happening around the area. It was noisy and there wasn't much room to move around and it really took away from what I imagine is a normally peaceful experience. I was here on a weekday afternoon as well so I'm not sure when a slower time might be to visit. I feel like I should preface this review with the fact that I stopped here immediately after spending the morning and early afternoon at Filoli, so in comparison it probably isn't helping me have a hugely favorable opinion of my experience here. There are also signs advising that no dogs are allowed, which I think is pretty ridiculous. This is definitely worth a quick stop if you're in the area, especially because parking is free and there's no admission fee. However, unless you are one of the people who are spread out on a blanket or carrying boxes of props for a full-on production, this is definitely not a place that you would spend very much time. For me it was an interesting, very quick, one time stop.

Sunday night we called the Fire Department because our backyard was so flooded we worried it would…read moreget worse and enter the house. The firemen arrived within minutes and assessed our situation. They first told us we had another 12-16 inches to go before it was a big threat, and we could probably make it through the night. Then, after watching me try to get my hose to work as a siphon to help drain the water, they realized, we probably wouldn't sleep that night unless we figured out a way to lower the water level. Sure enough, they left, only to return about 5 minutes later with a sump pump for us to use through the night. Not only were we really grateful they came on such short notice- but we were even more grateful they were so willing to go above and beyond to help us feel safe. I slept that night... not well, but I did manage to sleep, thanks to our Fire Station #15! I have never been the type to call on the police or fire dept. unless it's a real emergency, and seeing that this could have been a way worse situation- we were really happy to know our fire dept. came through for us. It's nice to know these guys are just down the street from us, in case a REAL emergency happens one day. I should hope I never have to call them again, but if I do, I am certain they'll come through for us again! We love our Fire Department!!!

First I got scoped out at night and stopped for having no front license plate, secondly another officer had pulled me over for having no exhaust tips... when their vehicles don't come equipped with them either. Another time they pulled me over for not using my signal to change lanes, These police officers have never experienced real crime and are a bunch of rookie cops. They feel as if they can pull you over just to validate your residency in Foster City. A very sad police department, and a nuisance to the Foster city community.

I think the thing that stands out to me most is the abundance of restaurants. In Downtown San Mateo is home to some of my favorite restaurants such as Sushi Sam's, Fire Wings, Rise Woodfire, Shabu Shabu, Espetus and much more. The diversity in food options makes the downtown a very underrated spot for foodies that people outside of the Peninsula don't know much about. Let's not forget all the beautiful and large cafes that are available to get some work done or catch up with old friends. San Mateo is also home one of the only last remaining shopping malls in the Peninsula. Hillsdale has transformed itself into a destination with an influx of entertainment and solid food options. Another area that doesn't get a ton of love is the 25th Ave street. There's a lot of hidden gem restaurants that's easy to forget they are there, but whenever I go, I'm always pleasantly surprised about the options available.
