This ER staff is exceptional. The girl who greets you, walks you through the paperwork, and calls the insurance company. Excellent. The nurse who starts the process for the doctor. The most unprofessional urgent care in Texas. There's nothing about this clinic that is urgent. My husband and I have called over 30 times in a month and no one has picked up the phone ever. Try being active duty trying to get medical records to have your spouse moved overseas to your assignment but can't get anyone to answer a phone or email. It has put us at such an inconvenience holding up his pcs move overseas just because they don't communicate. Try listening to the voicemail tell you they take walk ins 2 hours before close just to drive there and they tell you to still schedule an appointment. Communication at this place is HORRIBLE! Went here three days ago. CVS is just now getting the antibiotic script request needed for a severe flu like sickness. Why did it take them three days to send the script over? And then you call, and there is literally no one to talk to, they just say to email them? Ridiculous for an urgent care facility. Or really any medical practice for that matter. I've been seeing Dr. Padilla on and off since 2014. He's a fantastic doctor with a great bedside manner in my opinion. It's why I've recommended him to others and I continue coming to him. In my last recent visits within the last couple of months, I've noticed that his front office staff is lacking and lacking in just about everything. Customer service is the lowest I've seen for a medical staff. Michael has always been so efficient and helpful. But I've had to deal with the new blonde girl and I've yet to receive a positive interaction. I reached out via email over a week and half ago and was faced with Alexa's lack of courtesy and timeliness. All I needed was to do a follow up visit with the doctor and I faced a ton of random questions from her when all she had to do was check my chart and quit wasting both of our times. But instead she's gone MIA and has stopped responding since 6/14. I've tried calling and leaving messages for a call back and for a refill in RX and have heard nothing back. It's truly unfortunate that a doctor is losing out on many patients because of how they avoid getting back to patients in a prompt manner. Wait times here are ridiculous also. It doesn't matter if you are a walk in or have an appointment. I've waited for over an hour on days I actually bother making and appointment. I've waited about 30 minutes as a walk in with no appointments. It makes no sense. All in all, the back office staff and the doctor are great when you can actually get help and be seen by them. JOKE OF A PRACTICE I went as a new patient, filled out all my paperwork before and had a scheduled time slot. After waiting for 30 minutes I was brought to my patient room where I was told I would have to wait another 30-45 minutes because they were backed up. I explained that I am in a rush for work but the male nurse just kept calling me "dude" and "man" and telling me to just "hangout" in the patient room, telling me he could "write me a doctor's note" to excuse me from work like I'm some sort of school kid trying to play hookie. I declined. Truly bizarre. I went to the front desk to re-schedule and was insured I wouldn't have to do this hour+ wait time next time. I noticed the waiting room was completely packed to the point where patients were standing because there were no chairs left so I told them "going to be an hour+ wait so plan accordingly" as I would want to know because most people cant just kill multiple hours during the work day to "hangout" as the male nurse put it. Well Dr Padilla seemingly didn't like me doing that because moments after I left they called me to let me know I was being refused as a patient and they would not re-schedule me! Hilarious! I am relieved that I dont have to deal with this unorganized, unprofessional, incompetent doctor and staff ever again. Wouldn't recommend this doctor to my worst enemy. For anyone reading this looking for a local doctor, I recommend Dr Bruce Phillips in preston center! He is a pros pro and actually has a competent staff, cant say enough good things about his practice. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! AMAZING! I am a complicated medical case with a lot of issues that have stumped doctors since before I can remember. I have seen some of the most expensive and highly rated doctors in Dallas without any luck. My experience with previous doctors was less than satisfactory and I generally felt rushed through, not heard, and not valued. When I starting seeing Dr. Padilla it honestly changed my life. The entire office is so kind, and makes me finally feel heard and seen. I never feel rushed through even if they are busy. Dr. Padilla has helped figure out things that no other doctor has been able to in 20 years. He helped me find an anxiety medication that actually works for me and I have felt better than I have in years. They are helping me figure out other things that I had given up on after basically being told "sorry we can't help you" at other practices. Hillcrest Medical is super speedy when it comes to responses, lab work, and refills. A special shout out to Michael who is wonderful at his job! He always responds to emails fast, and makes refilling my medication easy! I am so blessed that I have found this practice. Most doctors seem great when all you need is a flu test, or check up, but when your health is a bit more complicated it feels pretty hopeless. I was referred from a FB page but my experience was far different. The doctor may be good; I don't know because I couldn't get past the front desk. Online it is described as urgent care, walks in are welcome and they are open 8-5 daily. I tried to call to see if I could get in but the voice message states that they are too busy to answer the phone and I should send an email. Does that qualify as "urgent care"? doesn't seem like they have any sense of urgency. Since it is close by I decidEd to be a "walk in". no cars were parked in front and no one was in the waiting room so I thought this was good. it was 4PM. I walked in and was asked how I could be helped. I told the man at the front desk and he tried to get me to go upstairs to some other medical office. I asked if I was at Hillcrest Mefical and he said yes so I told him I was there for urgent care. he told me they stopped taking appointments or walk ins at 3 Pm!!! There were 2 employees behind the desk who didn't appear to be too busy to take phone calls. Then he told me that they had no appointments this week. So it absolutely defies the description of urgent care., I told him that I just needed treatment for a sinus infection and that shoukd be short but he said their policy was not to take in walk ins at that time. So I went to CityDoc where I filled in the paperwork and then spent 5 minutes with a medical professional and was given a prescription and I was out of there- much better service. - actual urgent care! I came to this clinic about 2 months ago because I noticed spots on my neck.. the doctor examined and had claimed it was shingles.. only to turn out he had prescribed me an antifungal medication that worsened the condition. When I had consulted with another PCP, they said whoever prescribed this medication was incorrect and it had made the infection spread worse. Don't see myself going here again. I saw Dr. Padilla for low testosterone. He came recommended by a friend so I went and saw him. He is a solid trt doc. He is here to help, not judge like other doctors. My one issue is that he is more about treating the symptoms than trying to find the cause. He looked at my previous test results and wrote up a script for Text and HCG on the spot, even though I told him I was trying to find out why I had low test. He is super chill. He told me that my hormone profile is exactly that of someone who has abused steroids. I responded with the truth, that I have never touched steroids in any form whatsoever. Hell, I was trying to fix my low testosterone without using anything anabolic, as the idea scared me. He just nodded his head and moved on. On one hand it was refreshing to not be judged, but on the other hand I had the distinct impression that he didn't believe me but he just didn't care. Dr. Padilla is very affable and a great choice for someone looking for help with low testosterone. read more

I honestly won't go anywhere else. I've gone for many different reasons from casual everyday to serious. I've gone late at night, early in the day, even on Sundays (which Dr Padilla is not there only PA which they are still great). Dr Padilla is always incredibly friendly and thorough to find what could be wrong. I'd give less than one star if possible. I came in with a legitimate case of sciatica on 8/14/2014. He agreed with the case after the exam. Then, for some reason he became suspicious (maybe my beard or Johnny Cash shirt IDK), and he pulled my prescription history and accused me of being a pain killer junky, even though I had told him I had been battling plantar fasciitis. I told him I run for a living, which I do. It turns out when you have PF, M.D.'s and podiatrist give pain meds. I had received SMALL amounts monthly for a while because my PF is nonsurgical. I wear a night splint and take the meds. I don't love them, and I'm NOT a junky. He proceeded to call out my mediations to me in a loud voice in the waiting room in such a way that another patient sat there and heard the whole thing - not to mention every office worker. This was a blatant violation of my HIPPA (privacy) rights. He didn't care in the least and yelled to the receptionist that she shouldn't let my 3-year-old even use his restroom, which she had took him there already WITHOUT my permission, as I tried to reason with this jerk of a stupid doctor. I had to tell him to watch his mouth talking about my son. I'm pretty defensive of my boy. Needless to say, I'm contacting my attorney today to see what my legal recourse is for this guy blurting out my medical history loudly in the waiting room. He's not compassionate. He investigates and judges arbitrarily based on past prescribed medication no matter what it was prescribed for treating. Somehow, he seems to believe that he's not only a doctor but the ultimate judge of whether or not your diagnosis from a doctor who cares for you and knows you is even real. He didn't even know me. He just chose me to mistreat. I say he should stick to Urgent Care and avoid judging based on his poor investigation skills. Only good thing is that he didn't charge me because if he had, I'd have never paid for a dime for his crappy, shoddy, inspector-gadget-want-to-be stupid doctor tricks. read more

Firstly, the work was excellent. Dr. Padilla was a former surgeon and made quick, great work of my hand and it healed nicely. My issue is with the billing. Before the suturing (he himself admitted it might not have even needed that, but only elected to do so due to the fact it's the hand) I asked several times about the cost of the procedure and made clear that I didn't want to go forward if it was going to be excessive. They confirmed the cost would be total in the order of around $80, $41 for the visit and then another cost of about the same in the mail. Even still, I was trying to think that conservatively it would be under $250-300. Nearly two months later, I received a $630 dollar bill because my deductible had not been met (I never go to the doctor so I guess I'd completely forgotten what these things cost). So, instead of doing the due diligence up front of just checking on my insurance, they went the easy route of just assuming that my deductible had been met and told me it would not be a big expense. This conveniently also guaranteed them the work. It's not their money and clearly not their concern. Upon receiving the bill, I called their billing company to ask about the charges last week and still this week they have not heard from Dr. Padilla or Hillcrest Medical. I was disappointed in this because the rest of the reviews here are stellar - this is a big reason I went with Hillcrest because typically these types of businesses are good to this end. I would have been much happier had they just cared a little more to respond. I'm going ahead and paying the bill of course, but this is just something to consider. In short, my hand is in excellent shape, but am not particularly excited about their handling of the billing. With the balance paid at visit, it cost me $670 for four stitches in my hand and that's after the insurance "adjustments". Good times... read more

Sometime in January, I received a notification from my regular doctor informing me that he was retiring from his practice. Initially - this really threw me for a loop; however - through a series of happy coincidences - I came across Dr. Padilla at Hillcrest Medical - and this has turned my sudden medical crisis into a sudden medical blessing! After checking out his office, I went in for a physical and was extremely impressed. I found his staff to be friendly and efficient - and the facilities to be state-of-the-art. As far as Dr. Padilla goes - not only is he a fine physician - but also - a warm and personable fellow - and an extremely interesting person to have a good conversation with. During the exam, he was very active in the numerous steps of the evaluation - and was also quite generous with his time the following week when we went over the results of my blood work and the exam (by the way, everything came out just fine!!:) I might add, not only is he well versed in his field - but also has a wide scope of medical interests. I was especially impressed with his knowledge of vitamins, supplements and the numerous branches of pro-active health care. All in all - I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Padilla and Hillcrest Medical - and am now quite grateful for the circumstances that originally steered me in his direction! P.S. I go here for urgent care and am always a walk-in, and I always get served in under ten minutes (which is great because I happen to be a sickly busy college student). Unlike many urgent care centers in the area, this place actually cares for their patients. I honestly created a Yelp account just so I could write a review for this place. I am a college student nearby and I was recommended Hillcrest Medical by a friend about 4 years ago, and have been going there regularly ever since. I live far from home and it was hard for me to find a good doctor near my school that I could trust. Dr. Padilla has been amazing and so helpful with all of my medical needs as well as the other nurses and staff. Appointments are super quick if there isn't a wait, and he completely focuses on you during that appointment and makes sure all of your concerns are addressed and treatment options are explained. I have recommended this place to a few of my friends who go now as well and love it. Something that bothers me is a comment made by Solly H. below. Obviously, that patient is very unhappy with the services they received from Hillcrest Medical, but their decision to then attack the business on Yelp (of all places) is completely out of line. Looking through their profile, it seems like a common theme that this customer expects a red carpet to be rolled out in every business that they enter, which just isn't going to happen. It seems this person looks for fault in a business just so they can go home and write a review on Yelp. After waking up the other morning not feeling so well, I decided to finally hunt down a Primary Care doctor after almost 3 years in Dallas. I have previously used random walk in clinics and urgent care clinics, and enough was enough. I found this clinic with a Google search, they were close by and thought I'd give them a try. From the minute I walked in, the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. They got me back right away and within 10 minutes I was seen by the doctor. Dr. Padilla was very friendly, thorough and not rushed at all. He took the time to explain things, discuss some of my concerns and made it clear that they valued my business and hoped I would return. It was refreshing to see a doctors office have a great sense of customer service. Every doctors office I've walked in the past 10 years has acted put off everytime someone else walks in the door, then punishes you by an hour long wait past your appointment time before you see anyone. Dr. Padilla was very competent, addressed all my concerns, the nurses were back in drawing blood and getting me on my way immediately. The office staff upon check out were quick and went out of their way to thank me for my business, asking me to tell friends and family about their practice. They clearly get basic Sales 101, but they deliver on quality of service and basic common sense when it comes to treating patients well. I have already told 2 people about Dr. Padilla and highly recommend this as your go to for family practice. They will see you same day and walk in as well. BTW: Go around to the back of the building and park in the free garage underneath.
