Hillary brought back all the flavors from BHC. Our dinner was deliciously nostalgic! The cafe is located on a street near the highway, so it's easy to locate and get to. The decor is cool, cozy and inviting with a thoughtful corner area for kids to play. Great idea for a more fun night out for both parents and kids. Our server was friendly and provided great service. Hillary came out to say hi, it was a great night! Now to the yummy part, the food: The rolls are just how I remembered... fluffy, hot and sooo good, I can't wait to go back to eat a whole basket of them and dip them into warm memories of the lentil soup. For the entree, I ordered the apple cranberry salad topped with salmon & shared a pink pasta & teriyaki vegetable rice with the table. My friend and I were absolutely OBSESSED with The Beverly Hills Cafe in our teens and through our early 20s--so much so that we met for dinner at the South Miami location religiously, at least once a week. When the locations began closing one by one, our hearts broke a little each and every time. So when we recently learned about The Hills Cafe, we immediately agreed: we had to go at least once. Yesterday, we made the trek all the way from Brickell to Hialeah, which honestly felt like a little adventure in itself. We'd noticed that the restaurant's hours vary by day and that on Wednesdays they close at 8 PM. Having absolutely no idea how long it would take us to get to Hialeah and actually find the restaurant, we left Brickell around 4:45. By the time we arrived, it was 5:25--and they hadn't reopened yet. (They serve lunch, close at 4 PM, and reopen at 5:30.) Sure enough, we were the only people there for a good half hour. Our server was an adorable high-school-aged boy who clearly takes his job very seriously. We sat down, he brought us our Diet Cokes and two rolls, and we were ridiculously excited. I don't even eat bread anymore, but these were *the Beverly Hills Cafe rolls.* Except the moment I touched mine, I knew. It wasn't quite the same. The rolls are somewhat similar to the originals, but they weren't as soft and fluffy as I remembered, and they're also not served with that delicious whipped butter BHC used to have. We knew going into this that it might not be exactly what we'd built up in our memories after all these years, so we weren't entirely surprised. But then our salads arrived. I'd had my heart set on a specific salad I used to order all the time, which isn't on the Hills Cafe menu, but I was able to recreate it by making a few changes to their Cobb salad. And thankfully, their honey mustard dressing tastes *exactly* as I remembered it. One bite and I was basically 20 years old again, sitting in a booth in South Miami with my friend. My stomach may no longer be quite as enthusiastic about that honey mustard as it was in my 20s, but the nostalgia alone made it well worth it. If you were a fan of the original Beverly Hills Cafe--especially those enormous salads and that honey mustard dressing--the Hills Cafe is absolutely worth a visit if you're in the area. Not everything is exactly the same, but for a little while, it was really fun to revisit a place and a time we both loved so much. read more

So, if you haven't heard, a former employee of the much-loved Beverly Hills Cafes decided to take many of the old recipes and open a spot just off the Palmetto in Hialeah (just one exit south of 75). We got here right at Noon on a Tuesday. We got a space in a cramped parking lot . Only three tables were taken . No I didn't take pictures because I was busy reading Giannis reaction . So..their famous rolls were just as yummy, although smaller . My son got the chicken Philly and it was fine . Their fries are still dead on. Wife got the soup and salad combo. Soup of the day was chicken tortilla. It was tasty. I wouldn't say it was outstanding, but it got the job done . The Caesar salad she got was a nice size and the Caesar dressing was dead on . I got the teriyaki chicken over yellow rice . It was really good, although the size of the sliced chicken breast was not great. The pricing is reasonable . My meal was $12.99...son's chicken Philly was $14.99...wife's combo was $11.99. Id rather pay a few dollars more and get some more chicken, but no worries . I will say, while the servers were very kind, the service was slow, and with only 6 tables being filled at most while we were there, that doesn't bode well for a day when the place might be full . Would I drive out of my way? No. But, we stopped on our way to Doral and so it made sense to finally try it. I do worry about the location, it's in a an old strip mall in a pretty industrial area. I never thought I would get to experience the deliciousness of Beverly Hills Cafe again. This was a staple of my childhood into my adult years, and the last location sadly closed a few years ago. I got to visit the revival location in Hialeah and can happily report that the famous, one-of-a-kind rolls are the exact same...as are the crispy, seasoned fries. I loved my burger and can't wait to return soon so I can try a salad and maybe also the chicken teriyaki bowl. I encourage you to go and support them with dine-in or takeout! read more

I've been mourning the loss of Beverly Hills Cafe for years and now it's (basically) back! The rolls! The salads! What more can you ask for? The service is great, and you can see how they are staying true to the roots of the OG Beverly Hills cafe. The chicken tortilla soup was a sleeper hit, absolutely full of flavor and chicken. Faithful customers of Beverly Hills Cafe in Miami Lakes and Cooper City. We had to come visit Hills Cafe and check it out. Hillary, manager of the old BHC, is now the owner here. Must be honest, our first impression pulling up to the restaurant was not what we thought. Had to wait about 15 minutes for a parking spot to open up. Very limited parking. Once we entered the mood changed. Homey, relaxing ambiance. Angie was our waitress, excellent service. Food review, my wife had the soup and sandwich combo $11.99. Lentil soup, very good. Chicken salad half sandwich was also good, small portion. Our daughter was recommended by the person next table over to try the Teriyaki Hills Bowl, $15.99. Bountiful plate, she loved it. I had the Chicken parmigiana sandwich with fries. Took off the top bun and enjoyed the rest of sandwich. Was in the mood for that, so it satisfied my desire. 3 Arnold Palmers that were refilled without asking. Talked to Hillary on the way out, you could definitely tell she is a hands-on owner. She told us about a future location off of Flamingo and Sheridan possibly. A+ for effort in getting this location running. Definitely recommend dropping by. read more

I really wanted to like this place, especially after hearing it was owned by someone who worked at the Beverly Hills Café. That set the bar pretty high for me. Unfortunately, the experience didn't come close to meeting expectations. First issue: the location. It's tucked into a tiny strip mall with maybe two parking spaces total. I'm honestly not sure how they expect to fill the restaurant with virtually no parking available. I stopped in around 4 PM and was the only customer there. I ordered everything to go, so I expected the food to be freshly made. I was especially excited to try the famous Beverly Hills rolls, but they were a big disappointment. I opened the bag in my car and they were already lukewarm. On top of that, they were dense and lacked the light texture and flavor of the original rolls even though I was told it's the same recipe. I ordered the lentil soup and the Hills Cobb salad. The salad was pretty underwhelming. The portion of chicken was small and unfortunately dry. Nothing about it justified the price. Speaking of prices, the bill came to almost $50 for a Cobb salad and lentil soup. The salad alone was $20.99, the soup was $9.99 for what was basically just over a cup, and the rolls were another $4.99. For the quality and portions, the pricing just doesn't make sense. If you grew up, lived or spend any time in Miami Lakes you remember Beverly Hills Cafe. It was a regular dinner spot for me when I worked nearby. As much as I went low carb, I would leave a cheat meal for their rolls; their salads balanced it out :) After they closed a few years back, I started hearing on some Hialeah blogs about how Hillary - one of the managers - was going to bring it back. Well, it's open and I finally had the chance to come by for dinner last night. It's located right off the Palmetto, and has a few parking spaces in the front. The inside decor takes you back to the O.G. space, plus a few nice touches like an actual working piano and a retro videogame machine. Hillary (who I remembered from back then) is super friendly and an involved business owner, taking the time between greeting her customers as well as quality control in the kitchen. Now for the food, the bread rolls were instant culinary nostalgia! They still have the same deliciously warm and fluffy texture. I also enjoyed a cup of their soup of the day (garbanzo) and found it to be mildly spicy, packed with beans, cheese & scallions. My main course was their buffalo chicken salad. This is not just a bowl full of fresh greens, no this has croutons, perfectly spicy strips of well seasoned chicken, tomatoes and oranges to balance out the flavor. She also customized out the ranch dressing and cucumbers and minimize the amount of onions at my request. #PickyEater. I passed on dessert, but did indulge Cafecito, of course! Here's looking forward to Hill's continuing to be a neighborhood gem (and me enjoying those bread rolls). read more

Ordered online for pick up on another day. Club sandwiches and soup. Potato chips are made in house. The soup - hot and delicious ( cream of broccoli, split pea). Location quaint and intimate. Like the other reviewers I lived most of my life in Miami Lakes and Beverly Hills was a staple for us. Loved the salads, soups & especially the rolls. Went to Hills Cafe today for the first time,there were three of us. I had the soup & sandwich, the others both had salads. The food was good and the rolls pretty spot on. Service was good too, just a bit slow. We look forward to coming back when hopefully there is a bigger menu. read more

Grew up going to Beverly Hills and was so devastated when they closed their doors. I was so excited when they announced Hills Cafe! Since they've opened we've been at least 6 times and each time is slowly getting better. They're ramping up and not at full capacity but it's almost there and I can't wait till they're operating at 100%. The soups so far have even delicious and taste exactly like the Beverly Hills ones did and the bread tastes the same now. Initially it didn't but they've perfected it. They're only missing the butter now. I typically eat the buffalo salad and it's good, maybe needs a little more buffalo sauce. The blue cheese dressing was on point. The location like another review said isn't the best but at least it's a start. I love that they have a kids corner, it does help keep our little crazies at bay. I love that the family bathroom has a small toilet for children. It sounds crazy but that has saved me so much time with our children. I'm excited for what's to come with Hill's Cafe and hope to eventually give this a 5 star. read more

Like many others here, I grew up in Miami then moved to Broward County and my family and I always loved Beverly Hills Cafe and were so upset when one by one they all closed down. After much anticipation about hearing about The Hills Cafe, we decided to give it a whirl. Agree with the others on location, but whatever.. not the greatest and limited parking in the front and side but not a big deal. Overall a nice , small cozy place. Everyone was friendly and the service was good. As the owner explained the restaurant is still a work in progress so not all items are available as of yet. We all ordered the Cobb Salad and although I think it was a little inferior to the ones I remembered, everything was fresh and good. We were so excited to try the rolls and get our beloved spicy peanut vinaigrette back that was a fan favorite. The rolls were very good (agree need to get that yummy fluffy soft butter back) and the dressing in all honesty was wayyy too spicy ( kind of burned my throat) and texture wise was very thick and did not taste anything like the O.G. Dressing that we used to order and take home by the pint. Hoping they will continue to improve it. That being said, the owner Hillary, was an absolute sweetheart and truly has a love for the business which is so nice to see in this day and age. She came by with some cafecitos and spoke with us for a while telling us her story and reminiscing about our love and memories of Beverly Hills Cafe. Hillary is truly a gem and I wish her and the Hills Cafe much success and hopefully another location in the near future in Broward County. Two stars for nostalgia. To think I was so excited to try this place. Bread is close but not quite there, broccoli cheese soup is watery, chicken tenders had no salt. Decor is all over the place. Most of the dishes were chipped, utensils were dirty. The place smelled of frying oil. I understand the thought, but it falls short, way short. I'm one of those that believes that to succeed you can't half as* things. Let's not even get into their hours, all over the place. Some may consider this a soft opening, but definitely room for improvement. Location is odd, parking is complicated to say the least. After my experience today, I don't think I'll be back.
