A friend gave this restaurant a lot of hype so I decided to try it. As soon as I waked in I noticed how cold it was inside, because of this we decided to sit outside which has about 2-3 tables with chairs. The inside is spacious, not a lot of decor to it, but it is very clean. The employee taking our order was pleasant and answered our questions. Unfortunately I was disappointed. My mom ordered the chicken platter and I had the chicken wrap. We both thought the chicken was dry and could use more flavoring. My chicken wrap definitely did not look like the picture and could have used more chicken, onions, and tomato. I can't say I will be returning here again anytime soon. read more

Good food and large amounts. So I asked if the gyro bowl or the gyro plate was a better dish? Which had more? Apparently, the bowl is the way to go. So that's what I ordered. With rice, salad, and plenty of meat, this is definitely the way to go. The bowl was full to the top. The flavor was good. It could have been just a little bit warmer, but it wasn't bad. I almost finished the entire bowl but didn't want to be miserable. You don't get to select everything. They make it for you the way they want. Kinda. They did ask if rice and salad and meat is what i wanted. I didn't get any pita bread. I don't know if I was supposed to, but it's a good thing I didn't get any. Anyway. Awesome dish. We came here during our lunch time which is fairly early, they open at 10:30. Oregano is very clean inside, plenty of seating and large dining space which is good if you are going there with a group. I ordered the veggie wrap which was delicious, their pita was good, the veggies were fresh, the hummus was also really nice. They make in house grape leaves, hummus and I believe baklavas too! Next time I visit I want to try the baklavas they looked really good and the portion is quite large. It took some time to get our food so if youre looking for a quick lunch you might want to call ahead and pick up the food. read more

I love this place and eat here at least once a week. Being Greek makes me an expert so I will critique accordingly ;) The salad and cheese are legit! Really great and fresh....the chicken is marinated and it shows! The taste is delicious and the chicken is tender and juicy never dry The pita is thick and soft The hummus tastes just like the one in Greece. Oddly enough, I've never found true hummus in the states other than here! The dolmades (vegetarian stuffed grape leaves) are great and the tzatziki sauce to dip chicken into is also really good! You place your order at the counter, grab a number, take a seat and they bring you your food. It's open space seating nothing fancy or aesthetically pleasing. The food. It was good, although I love Gyros and everything tasted fresh, for some reason it didn't do it for me. My kids didn't finish their food which is surprising, one had chicken and fries platter, the other a chicken gyro. I have nothing bad to say but nothing great. The food was expensive but when you get it-good portions matched the pricing. The quinoa bowl with chicken was super delicious. The tzatziki was really well flavored. I love going here for lunch! I come here at least once a month to catch up with a friend of mine, and the food is always delicious. The gyro rice bowl is always fresh and flavorful and my friend always orders their chicken platter. With plenty of seating inside and some outside too, it's a great place to sit back and enjoy your meal and have good conversations. Prices are reasonable and the staff is courteous and quick. I'd seen Oregano for awhile now while going to the other restaurants in the strip mall and just never stepped in. However, after working late last night - almost to their closing time - I'm glad I came by. Farah's post on the Yelp Instagram about Hummus also motivated! Just as I ask for no mayo on other dishes, I opted out of the tahini sauce on my chicken and quinoa bowl. I did get double chicken , which was tender and had a nice grilled aroma to it. The quinoa was grainy and had a nice crunch. The hummus fresh and creamy, and wasn't overwhelmingly garlicky. Packed with rice, and a nice tangy flavor the grape leaves also made for a yummy appetizer. They also have a shelf to sell grape leaves, hummus, and a few other yummys. I'd been to this strip mall several times but had never visited Oregano Greek Kitchen. I finally decided to give it a try because I enjoy Mediterranean cuisine. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean but empty. Unfortunately, the food left me very disappointed. Although the food was freshly prepared, it was lukewarm by the time I brought it home to eat. This should be a 5 star review -- if you just counted the food itself. But the ordering experience and the frustrations created added to our negative experience as well. You order and pay at the counter. They were busy so they opened another register. The young gal that took our order didn't know how to describe what we had asked about. We took a chance and ordered it anyway. She took our money and gave us change. Then she walked away. We stood there waiting for a receipt or something. We were dining in but they never asked our name or anything. How would they know who to give the food to? She finally came back to the register after 2 others saw us standing there and we asked that question. She looked in the computer and handed us a plastic number. No I'm sorry. No explanation. No nothing. Just a stare. So we find an empty table and are waiting for our food. 3 people who had been behind us in line get their food. I put my mask back on and walk up to where they're cooking. A gal asks if she can help. I explain. She says, oh, what you ordered takes 7 to 10 minutes to cook. I let her know that we weren't told this not did the gal who took our order know what it was we had ordered. It's a good thing that we had allowed more than sufficient time for our upcoming appointment. So the food came. We'd ordered a keftedakia platter. We chose lemon potatoes for our side. It also came with wedges of warm pita and a small cup of tzatziki sauce. The keftedakia are traditionally a spicy Greek meatball of a mix of pork and beef. It's sometimes served with a tomato sauce. These were two flattened pieces of ground meat -- in the Patty shape of a burger. They were cooked well done and had a mix of tasty spices in them. There was also a piece of grilled red pepper served on top of the meat. The potatoes wedges were soft and tasted of lemon. As I said, the food, itself, was quite good. They have a menu including wraps, sandwiches, salads and platters. They even have a couple Greek desserts. They were doing quite a bit of takeout, too. There are a number of other restaurants in this corner section -- Latin, Thai and noodles, even fast food burgers. And at lunch it's a popular destination. If you go to this restaurant, have one of the more seasoned people take your order. You'll then enjoy your overall experience as well as your food. read more

YOU GUYS. I have to start this review off with the STAR OF THE SHOW: the french fries. They were crispy; they were potatoey; they were soft; they were crunchy. These french fries were everything for every fry lover. No joke. Listen, I LOVE fries. That's what I'm known for by my friends. So this is a big deal. Everything else was good too. My sister & her boyfriend got salad with gyro meat (the meat was awesome), and I got a falafel pita (you can never go wrong with falafel pita). Sooo, this place is like the McDonalds of Greek food. I ordered a Gyro Pita Wrap, with no onions. They have the cone of lamb spinning. I went to get drink, and when I came back he was taking pieces of previously cut meat out of a buffet like set up. For $11, I was expecting fresh meat. The guy who took my order asked the guy who was making it to hold the onions, apparently he forgot to tell him. So he grabs the meat and other things off the Pita, and picks off the onions, and puts the meat, lettuce, and tzaziki back on the Pita. Definitely would be bad if someone is allergic to onions. Yes there were still some in the Pita and it tasted like onions. Definitely won't be returning here. read more

I love love Oregano. I work very early in the morning so my lunch is scheduled for 10:30am which limits my options tremendously but luckily Oregano opens at 10:30am. They have even gone the extra mile of taking my order over the phone 5-10 minutes before they opens so I don't have to wait too long. They can take a bit to get the food ready so this helps me a lot. They take long because everything is freshly made. When I go in the place is usually empty but they have a great sitting area to enjoy your food. Went here for dinner today. It's at the back of a large plaza (sort of hidden away). The place is nice and modern. Lots of tables inside, and half a dozen small tables outside. The female staff member taking our order was friendly and helpful. Menu prices are reasonable. We ordered at the front counter; a gyro pita and chicken breast platter with rice. The pita with lamb was very tasty. Lettuce, tomato, onion, and tzatziki. The platter rice was a bit too plain, but the chicken, pita bread, and tzatziki were delicious. We also ordered a pice of baklava (just over four dollars) and it was outstanding. Lots of layers, lots of filling, and lots of honey. Highly recommended! read more

I came here today for take away, and ordered over the phone. They were very sweet when I came to collect my order. I ordered 3 gyros pita wraps, which were very nice. I did find the gyros meat was a little too salty for my taste though. I also ordered 3 baklavas, which were good but sooooo sweet (more so than other establishments, and also I have tried these in Corfu and Greece!). I would like to give 3.5 stars but they are still not quite a four for me yet. The place was busy which was lovely to see for a local restaurant here in Miami Lakes. Unfortunately my first experience at Oregano was not the greatest. I was hoping my family and I would like this spot because it's local and who doesn't like Greek food? This establishment needs major tweaking. Gyro slices should be thin. Not steak thick. The bread was hard to chew as if they were heated in a microwave where the dough hardens and is hard to chew. Lemon potatoes were underwhelming... definitely needs more zest and juice. This is the first Greek restaurant I've visited where a gyro platter doesn't come with any lettuce or tomatoes. Even something small as a garnish. Nothing! As for my salad, it had no dressing. The tzatziki sauce tasted very odd. It was sweet but weird. I can't believe I have not reviewed Oregano yet, I literally come here all the time. This is one of my go to lunch restaurants since it's close to my office. The food is delicious and they serve a pretty decent amount. I also love that this place is always clean and the staff is friendly. I have been here with a few different coworkers and they all love coming here. Typically I order the gyro platter with quinoa (photo attached). Their hummus is also very good, highly recommend it! It is a very special day when I bother with Greek food. Fact #1: I'm not much into Greek food. Fact #2: I must really love you if I go to a Greek food restaurant with you. Fact #3: I went to Oregano Greek Kitchen. Insert your many inferences here, but know this conclusion: the food was ACTUALLY tasty and not lemon-flavored junk all over the place! To my companion who dragged me, thank you very much. You've opened my eyes (or should I be saying palette?). Went sporadically one night after I heard great things about this place. Prices are reasonable, restaurant is ample and has a very take-out feel. I think it's because it's relatively new and unknown. The location was pretty empty. We must have seen one or two tables with people. That said, this is a very casual place. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. When we first arrived, my being a novice - I immediately went to see their desserts. They were just so attention grabbing in their display that I couldn't help myself. We ordered a chocolate mousse cake to share (as I couldn't stop obsessing over it), as well as a steak bowl and a shrimp kebab meal. Cannot comment on the steak bowl except to say that it brought salad and pita. The shrimp kebab, meanwhile, I had with pita and rice. It was simply divine and I even had leftovers. All in all, I'm so happy I got out of my comfort zone. It was very much worth it! And that chocolate mousse cake I mentioned earlier? That was the cherry on top! The gyros are perfectly prepared with authentic shaved lamb on the spit, pita is fresh and crisp, greens are fresh too and the tzatziki has an amazing flavor. The ambience is awesome. Oregano has become my comfort food. They are about 10 min away from our house. So we Uber eats. I love the gyro bowl. The meat is yummy and rice is soft. The grape leaves are not our favorite tho. I haven't seen the staff in person but they always pay attention to my notes on Uber when I request changes. So that's a plus! read more

Absolutely love eating at this place! First off, it's at a great location and the place is always clean! The Hialeah/Miami Lakes area was in desperate need of a delicious Greek restaurant. The food here is sooo good. I've has the gyro platter with fries and also with lemon potatoes. Both are great! The platter also comes with pita bread and tzatziki sauce. Their serving of tzatziki is generous, which is great because I love that thing! They also give a good amount of gyro meat and it isn't dry like in some other places I've had. I unfortunately did not take pictures of the food, because it was just too darn good. Oh and you can't leave here without enjoying a piece of Baklava! Yummmmmm! read more
