I came to this bakery because it seemed to be the one with the best reviews in the area. However I wasn't fully satisfied with my first visit... Let's just say the area isn't the nicest one. Which is not their fault. But I'm just saying in general... Then, it said I could get a guava and cheese pastry for checking in which is not granted anymore... And then this meat and cheese pastelitos just weren't that good for my taste. The meat one seemed a bit too seasoned and the cheese one, maybe it just wasn't fresh even though it was around 11am Last but not least, croquettes, palito de queso and the heart cookie were very good. This bakery used to be so great and it has been on a complete decline. The pastries are stale every time we've gone over there. The Cuban bread is fine and I guess that what they sell the most so it's fresh. But the pastries yuck. Old, stale and the meat inside is all burned from being reheated so many times I guess. We were running late and I hadn't had coffee yet. I was also beginning to get hangry, never a good combination. We stopped here as it was nearby. Upon checking in, I got an offer for a free pastelito. They should remove this off Yelp as they will not honor it. Whatever, no big deal. What is a big deal is what's actually going on at this place. Yes, people are wearing masks and gloves, but no one is following the amount of people that should be inside. It was packed and no one was restricting entry. More so, they practically didn't have anything on display. It seemed I got there right after the rush. They also have a ticketing system, but people aren't paying attention to it. I got really ticked at a guy for being before me but only speaking up when they were already attending me. The guy just shrugged and kept saying sorry as if sorry would fix the fact that he wasn't paying attention and wasn't a gentleman. He got lucky I didn't tell him off right then and there. As for what I ordered, the biggest shock is that they had Cuban bread at 1 PM on a Sunday. Mind you, they only had two types of croquetas and just barely. I got a café con leche, too, and it was fine, albeit darker than I wanted. Honestly the food was decent, but the place already pissed me off with the lack of variety and the customers. Every once in a while.. I will stop in a local bakery early morning to buy pastries for a meeting and s few days ago it was at Mega bakery which is a Cuban bakery with all the usual goodies. I was helped by a very serious young lady that seemed to be over w helmed with customers and not to happy, but a manager to have her crack a smile with a very friendly hello and thank god it's Friday, right. I ordered the usual pastries for my meeting and they seemed well stocked but slightly over cooked. While placing order I noticed one I hadn't tried before do i ordered what's called pizza pastel and a very strong shot of Cuban coffee and gotta sss as y it was amazing. Overall was a good experience and would have given them a higher rating if pasties wouldn't have been on the over cooked side. Will try again soon and see if Result's on pastries change. read more

Cakes are good , They have an assortment of sandwiches and Cuban breakfasts that are tasty. I bought a chocolate cake and you'll see in the picture that it is Mainly an dessert , very little cake and a lot of mouse, it is incredibly delicious but I want you to see the amount of cake you are getting . This is my second time at this location. My girlfriend and I were in the area and remembered how much we enjoyed the pastries here. This bakery is located in a shopping plaza behind a gas station on red rd. They always have great options here and everything is super affordable and delicious. I have never had a pastry here that I didn't fully enjoy. This time around we purchased some senorita cakes (similar to a napoleon), 2 marquesita cakes (coconut cake), flan, pudin (bread pudding), and Cuban crackers. The senorita cakes are always great here- flaky, crisp pastry dough that is never soggy or stale, delicious cream filling on each layer dusted with powdered sugar. Yum! Now on to my favorite; the Marquesita cake. This moist delicious coconut cake with creamy filling between the 2 layers was my absolute favorite. I've never tried this before and wanted to try something new. So glad I ordered this. Perfect coconut flavor, coconut pieces and custard. Perfectly sweet and overall the best dessert in my opinion. My girlfriend thinks is really sweet and feels guilty eating this but she admitted it was delicious, and I ignored her hahah. This cake is the bees knees. My girlfriend's favorite was the bread pudding. I admit it was delicious but it's not my favorite type of dessert. She enjoyed how moist it was and the overall flavor she described as a traditional Hispanic bread pudding. I agree, it was one of the best I've tried. The flan was great as well. I love Cuban crackers and wish this place was closer to home because these crackers beat out the supermarket brands ANY day! These go so well with butter but I could eat these by themselves and enjoy them just as much. This bakery never fails. If you are in the area, you are missing out if you don't pick up a few things. From the friendly service the smiling ladies behind the counter to the pan con tortilla they freshly prepared to my exact criteria. And it was delicious. I would have taken a picture but by the time I realized it I had finished. Its a local business owned and operated by locals who were working behind the counter. Love to see that! If I could put 0 I would. First off I am white, my wife's family is Hispanic and they sent me to pick up the food for them. Upon arrival they only spoke Spanish which is no problem someone was available to translate for me. However they decided to take advantage of me due to My lack of Spanish knowledge and say that they need me to pay money for it even though my family paid for it over the phone already. I called my wife's Spanish speaking family to talk to them and none the less they told me that I'm good to Go right after in attitude, not even an apology or a thank you. Extremely poor customer service experience, I would rather drive an additional 15 minutes to go somewhere else. I came to this place because my dad has bought Cuban sandwiches here and they have been pretty good. I walk in and there are not a lot of customers, so I grab a ticket to get in line and I wait my turn. The ladies helps all the regular customers without even saying a word to me or asking me if I need anything. I have made eye contact with all of them, and they know I am waiting. After a customers walked in and got served ahead of me, I decided to walk out. At that point One of the ladies decides that she wants to talk to me, but I'm already halfway out the door and don't have time to play games. The "Cuban Guys" 5 minutes down the street have The same food, and in a less shady strip mall...I'm sending my parents here instead, better service and safer parking. read more

I went there the other week for a quick bite to eat and a cafe con leche! First, this place gets very busy. Busy to the point you have to pull numbers. It gets packed! Its clean, everything is fresh, and the display of pastelitos is lovely! I ordered a croissant with egg, guava and cheese, croquettes, and a large cafe con leche. It took almost 20 minutes just to receive my croissant. People came in after me and walked out before me. Croquettes...delicious No guava and cheese...was told it would take about 30 min. Got a guava instead and it was delicious. Cafe con leche...perfect And when I finally did get my croissant sandwich...delicious It just took forever. i went here for the first time with my family to grab a quick bite, we were craving a Cuban sandwich. So just to start off, this spot was really cozy, extremely clean, and busy which equals a high wait time. You are required to grab a ticket, and wait for your number to be called in order to place an order... Our number was called, and bam, the cashier, nor the other staff members spoke English, so we had a major language barrier issue, and luckily there was a customer there who spoke English who was able to assist us. The waiting time was about 20 minutes or so for 3 Pan Con Bistec sandwiches. We redeemed an offer for 1 free pastry (guava and cheese). Long story short, the presentation of the sandwiches was quite impressive, as they were large portions. The only downfall was that the steak in the sandwich was paper thin, so when eating the sandwich, we could only primarily taste the lettuce, and tomatoes. My suggestion for anyone wanting to purchase a Pan Con Bistec from this spot, would be to order the mega Pan Con Bistec sandwich which includes more meat. Overall, the display of the restaurant was nice, and organized. I like that they have a variety of food, pastries are plentiful and delicious, nice music playing in the background, and customer service is excellent.
