My husband took my car to get washed last year, but he didn't remember exactly where he took it. We happened to drive past it yesterday and he told me that was the place. This was the place that stole all my quarters out of my car. I had a little pouch of quarters saved for meters that probably totaled around $10. They didn't just take some quarters out, they took the entire pouch! The actual car wash was mediocre, which is fine, not expecting anything phenomenal from this location, but they have sticky fingers. So be sure to take anything of value out of your car if you decide to use them. read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would the free complementary car wash that they give is not even good right after I get a wash it gets dirty immediately scrubbing dirt off of crevices within the car. I always see dirt left over from their wiping . Also, whatever protective film they place on the car to prevent future dirt does not work because a day within washing the car is already dirty. You should not pay for a car wash here if it's complementary I guess but even that it's not even worth it, and I usually have to take my car to get washed somewhere else after. Also, their staff is unhelpful they caused a oil leak in my car following my last oil change and they try to blame it on me because I didn't change my oil within six months, but regardless, whoever installed the oil pan or whoever did the last oil change did a faulty job and they were entirely unhelpful, and I will never come here again and neither should you! they didn't even offer to take a look at what the issue was and dismissed me right away, highly unprofessional, and I will be reporting this to the appropriate automotive business authorities. read more

I've gone here for five years and I've decided it's time to stop. Today's event; i asked for the $59,99 detail and whoever the guy checking me in literally talked me out of it. I have taken my Nissan Rogue to Hillside Carwash three times in the last eight weeks. The biggest compliment I can give them (and three reason for the two stars) is that the vacuum crew does an excellent job. The pre-wash (to presoak bird droppings and flush tree detritus) is haphazard and rushed - even after I had asked them to hose out the front windscreen / wiper mounts. The wipe down crew is just rushed and make the minimum effort to get the vehicle out of the way: interior front windscreen is streaky (I requested a rewipe all three times), side windows are okay, back windscreen is ignored, side mirrors are half down, bird droppings that are not removed by the wash cycle are ignored and no effort is made to even try to remove them - even on glass! Hillside Carwash, I gave you three chances to even slightly impress me and unfortunately that did not happen. read more

But their tactics here are just cruel. The first time I went for an oil change, they decided to take out my filters and to be honest I don't know if they were even mine and said for $80 they'd change them. I said NO. And I had to say it 3 times because they insisted. so they left it alone. I ordered both filters off amazon for leas than $20 and did it myself. The second time they decided to check my transmission oil. I just got my car last year I should mention. For this though I didn't know pricing. So I asked the guy and I asked twice to clarify, how much it would be for the oil change and transmission oil change he said $79. I repeat he said and showed me on the computer $79. When the bill comes, its $199.98. I asked wtf. The cashier gets a guy that was back there, not wven the one who did the work. And he tried to say that the guy never said $79. When I saw and made him repeat it twice. This kid was literally trying to call me a liar. And then had the audacity to say that he swears the guy never said that. I asked for a manager. "Not there". I asked for video and audio "we can't do that". I asked when the manager would be in "I don't know" will the manager be coming in? " not sure". After this I called later on to speak to the manager and again "he's not here". Like it's two weeks before Christmas and they pull this on me. Do not come here for auto services and you happen to have to use the restrooms. The bathrooms are atrocious. The bathrooms are equivalent to a hole in the ground with walls. Meanwhile the building is fabulous and modern. I was taken aback, but i had to go. The experience was Scary, Horrible and Disgusting. They can do 100% better for the customers and the workers. I should of taken pics but I had to get out of there quick for fear of being on the dark web, deep into the web that's how anxious I felt using the bathroom. When I spoke to management concerning the facilities they walked away. Terrible. Hillside Car Wash was fantastic when it first opened, but has gotten progressively worse to a point where you can't tell you've gotten a car wash after a visit here. The special is around $23 and you get absolutely no benefit in bringing your car here over running it through a gas station car wash and vacuuming it yourself. Considering during my last visit, my car was not particularly dirty but needed some vacuuming, I didn't see any discernible difference between when I took it took and when I left. It was obvious there was very little work done to the car beyond running it through the wash: there was debris all over the floor mats, the dashboard was only half cleaned as evidenced by Armor All being present on just pats of it, and there was no RainX applied even though I paid for it. *BEWARE* Please check how much they charge you! We saw the sign for $4.95 plus tax and decided to give it a try. When we went to pay, they were charging us double saying it's for "basic" service. The guy comes out and tells the owner we only paid for the outside. It's not a big deal for us but the manager/owner made a big stink about it, started instigating and made a huge scene. First, if you're just going to charge everyone the "basic" DO NOT have a sign trying to reel in customers with your $4.95 sign. I was the first to get my oil changed and it was done within 15mins, right away I got in line for my free car wash valued at $18.50 and I was out the door by 7:45am. Fast and simple! I came here for a much needed oil change. I called ahead to hear that they were closing in 30 minutes so I rushed over and in 15 minutes I was there as they were closing the bay. The mechanic didn't blink when I pulled up, and took my car in for the oil change I needed and directed me to wait in the lobby. So I judge car washes by what type of cloth they use when drying your vehicle , these guys uses authentic microfiber cloths. I made sure I grabbed one and inspected them , their good quality, the tire shine guy uses way to much tire shine on peoples tires causing me to grab my own towel and wiping off the access. The first 3 set of brushes are some type of plastic when rolling down the conveyer , not happy about that , then came the wax section that had microfiber brushes , all in all these people gets the job done read more

I have lived in the Richmond Hill neighborhood for over 30 years and for as long as I can remember my family and I have been getting our oil changes and car washes at Hillside Car Wash. My last experience with them has left me extremely disappointed. I got my last oil change with them mid March right before quarantine. I arrived at work in Port Washington and smelled a strong gas smell. I opened the hood of my car and there was oil everywhere. The technician that changed the oil in my car had left the cap on top of the engine and forgot to screw it back on. I immediately called Hillside Car Wash to let them know what had happened. The manager on shift was apologetic and said the technician was new and that he was very sorry for what had happened and to let him know when I was back in for an oil change and that he would take care of it. I was satisfied with the managers response to the situation. Now is July I did not drive my car much during COVID but I am back at work and need an oil change. I went in to Hillside Car Wash and asked to speak to the manager and explained what had occurred previously. He was quick to say that the manager I had spoken to before was no longer there and that he could not just give me a free oil change. I was not there asking for a free oil change. I was there for them to right a wrong that was done at their shop and I was told it would be taken care of. I did not go there for a hand out. The manager said that the best thing that he could do for me was to offer me a discount on the oil change. So after screwing up my oil change, me having to buy new oil to put back into my car and not to mention the time it took to clean the oil thats was all over the engine, the hood and dripping down the front of my car, best thing that he could do was offer me a discount. Needless to say I did not do my oil change and decided to take my business elsewhere. They don't clean properly plus they using hard rough cheap towels. Don't go there specially black car owners. They put alot swirl marks on my black challanger. I asked the guy cleaning my car to show me the towel, he didn't let me touch the rough towel, he grabbed the soft towel n gave me. I asked why you didn't let me see the towel you was using on car he replied "my boss said to do this". I felt fool at the moment. Once they left the engine oil cap opened on my Camry and then in 2016 they didn't tighten up oil filter or drain plug on my challenger RT. i was just keep driving until my co worker told me about oil leaking underneath my car. Then These guys tighten it up without telling me and added oil for free n said they try their best but if still leaks then I may have to go to dealer, I didn't need to go to the dealer cz leakage was stopped. I came here for a car wash. This is my honest opinion. They need improvement and people that pay attention to detail!!! For the price that you pay it's definitely not worth the money... vacuuming is horrible. I feel like they quickly pass the vacuum wherever it's comfortable for them and leave all the nooks and crannies untouched, and that's where all the buildup happens specially when you have kids in your vehicle. Mind you I went and I vacuumed myself at the gas station because I already knew they wouldn't vacuum well, and even then I saw spots that I had left for them to vacuum that were untouched. I only go there because it's the closest to me. If I had the money I would open a car wash near the area to give them some competition maybe they'll step it up! Once I drove home and realized the tires didn't have any shine at all even though we paid for it. On another occasion today, the window weren't clean, the interior wasn't clean, barely vacuumed or wiped down, we ended up having to clean both after paying $18. The front of our car still had marks of dirt on it still that WE had to clean. Unbelievable. I didn't go to them wanted to try something new and I regret it so now that I realize how great this place is I feel that they deserve the review. They use hot water not cold water like some other places. My rims come out shiny and free of any grease or dirt. They don't use duct tape which means when they peel off the tape they use there's no glue residue. They will take the time to clean every part of the car inside it's a nice operation of like 6 guys vacuuming the whole inside. I decided to try the place by the home depot and it was an awful experience next time I'm coming here and only here! Used dirty rags to clean the interior, use rags to clean my rims and tires then puts rag on floor and then use the same to clean the exterior of my car, scratch marks all over, they refused to show the security cameras to prove that my car before the wash didn't have any scratches, also this place is very racial. read more
