DO NOT STAY HERE! My wife and I literally only needed a place to sleep for a couple of hours and after having our room switched twice we decided that the place was SOOO bad that we would sleep in our car. The lobby is the cleanest and nicest smelling part of the building but PLEASE DONT BE FOOLED! The sheets were OBVIOUSLY stained. Lamps were broken. Holes in the walls and ceiling. Ripped curtains. Broken TV. MILDEW IN SHOWER. stains on walls. Cigarette and weed smoke everywhere. And the best part is the worker AND the manager didn't even care. Believe all of the reviews if you don't want to waste your money & time. If you're feeling skeptical GO WITH YOUR GUT! When my Uber pulled up to this hotel I was immediately dissatisfied but I wasn't the one who booked so I didn't want to complain too much. As soon as I walked up to the front door I knew things were sketchy. I saw random people hanging out in front. They were entering and exiting freely as if they lived there (honestly this is a shelter residence/ hotel). The receptionist gave us our room key. Upon entering the room, the stench of smoke engulfed me. I looked up and there was a black plastic bag covering the smoke detector. Burn marks on the rug and bedspread. The bathroom was dirty and I went to buy my own bathroom cleanser for my one night stay. Around 12:30 AM I heard a live-in resident arguing with her partner trying to kick them out of her "house". Highly ghetto I wouldn't recommend. I'm from New York and I'm used to certain things that comes with this city but this right here is not some thing worth paying for!!!! This was quite honestly the most filthy hotel I have ever stayed in in my entire life. I have never seen a place so filthy and lack of care on the part of the staff. I have already made one review on google about this because no human being should live like this even for one night. If I could give the Hillside hotel a negative 50 stars I would it was beyond disgusting... Normally I book with Expedia and this was the first time I book with Priceline in a while and I would suggest that you curate your selections of hotels so that ones with a standard as bad as this are not showing.. This hurts the Priceline brand. When I looked at the reviews on Priceline it looked like it was ok. I was not expecting luxury but just basic clean and tide.. This was so far from that that I really have no words other than complete and utter disappointment. Upon voicing my displeasure the front desks only response was thank you will let the manager know. That does not solve the problem for me nor does it compensate me in any way for having to stay in such a filthy place. Attached is the review with the photographs so that you can see that this is not just a person being picky but rather that this is a complete bait and switch vs what is shown and expected with any level of accommodations. In the morning when I saw the cleaning lady I told her it was dirty and she was just like oh, and sorry... and giggle when I told her that it was very very filthy... Front desk had a similar level of lack of care. Please don't let others be tricked into booking in a place like this and experiencing the severe disappointment after booking thru Priceline... :( NEVER NEVER AGAIN.... *** UPDATE ***** After many calls to hotel and to Priceline, a refund was started to be issued. I have not yet received the funds but hopefully in the next few days. But after pointing out the ridiculousness I guess it was decided to refund the money spent. Even with a refund, I feel that they need to stop and basically revamp this entire hotel and the entire management processes and the cleanliness standards. read more

DO NO STAY HERE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY! Where to start? The guy banging on our door at 3:30am trying to make a drug deal? (He had the wrong floor) The elevator dinging every 30 seconds as people come and go all night long? Or all the sex noises we heard through the paper thin walls? This place sucks. When these issues were described to management, they gave approximately 0 f***s. Oh, the slash marks on the curtains and stab marks on the "desk" chair were nice touches. 4 axes out of 5 for places you may get murdered in. Pretty sure Norman Bates runs the place. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL Worst hotel I have ever been too, wher do I start. First there was no parking, they messed up our reservations, there where homeless people just coming in and harassing people. Then they finally gave us our rooms after 1 hour of waiting in the lobby. We booked our rooms in September, one of the rooms had to have two full beds and they gave us two rooms with only one full bed. The carpet was filthy and full of dirt, the towels where dirty and stained. The sheets where stained as well. The WiFi didn't work nor the tv service. The AC had a used toothbrush in it. Finally the service was horrible, they had very loud music all night long. We called the counter to ask if they could lower the music and they said they couldn't. And the bath tub was dirty and the shower head came off. This hotel is the dirtiest hotel ever. IT CAN NOT GET WORSE. read more

Our room reeks of cigarette smoke. We asked for air freshener. And for the floor to be vacuumed. There is no reason why this room should reek like this. It's horrible...very disappointed...and the toilet seat was broken. Hinges missing. So it obviously wasn't cleaned before hand. This is unacceptable. We should be given a refund or a discount for our inconvenience. Totally put a damper on my mood. I had to report the smell and the seat, because I didn't want them to charge us. Arrived at this hotel and the woman at the desks was rude to start off. When I get to my room, there is no hot water. I had to bathe in cold water. The TV was stuck on the same channel and I was unable to change it. Even when I went to the front desk because none of the room did not have a phone, I got no satisfaction. They sent some one to my room who brought five different remotes and none of them worked of course. This staff member left without solving the problem and mumbling things that I did not understand. This hotel is more of a Motel 6 and its an insult to Motel 6. People will have better service at Motel 6 than at the Hillside Hotel. This hotel charged $231 for one night. This definitely was a waste of my time and money. read more

I have never written a bad review about a hotel but this hotel is just sad to say the least. 1. The area/ hotel is not the worst but not good. Loud, raunchy, shifty people in the area and in the hotel, they have a no smoking oil but no one follows it or enforces it why even have signs up. Also the rooms seem like they are quickly cleaned so they are not the cleanest and so functions do not work or have been covered up. 2. The other occupants are not ones you want to have as a real neighbor. One guest was on her phone loudly with a baby in her hands asking the front desk for a lighter... the FRONT DESK and they just laughed that was the first red flag. A couple minutes later in the room I heard a baby crying and throwing things for hours. Another guest was arguing with someone. Also It seems like people just come here to smoke so the rooms and hallways reek. 3. The hotel staff is unprofessional and almost seem like they don't know what they're doing. My first rooms card would not let me in so they moved my gf and I to a double bed. Now my own personal issue with them is apparently someone had the same name as me so they called me at 11 in the morning to see if I was checking out I told them no and that I had been moved they said ok and told me to come to the front desk to change rooms. This made no sense to me, if you're calling to see if I'm checking out and that I'm not the person you're looking for why are you having me switch rooms, in any case no one is coming to this room so why have me switched, it made no sense. But I couldn't complain my only complaint with that is that they moved us to a louder floor and moved us for no reason. All in all I wish I can get a refund the only thing that made this trip decent was maybe the price and my gf and I trying to not pay attention to the negatives because there certainly was a lot. read more

WARNING: STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE. There's a couple of other hotels to stay in literally a mile radius of this place. I really do hate leaving bad reviews I've worked in customer service forever and I understand things can happen that are out of ones control that customers can misunderstand but there was way too much that happened in my 3 night stay at this hotel. First night we walked into the wrong workin TWICE not once twice! We were kept being assigned to the the wrong room. Finally they realized they didn't have space for us and split the 4 of us into single rooms on different floors. Totally not what we asked for but being out of state and already have been paid in the beginning we had no choice. You'd think they would be more careful right? I totally understand mistakes but you look at what you did wrong and you don't do it again. I'm the middle of the night I had someone WALK INTO MY ROOM WHILE I WAS SLEEPING. Someone else had been assigned the wrong room. At this point I'm concerned for my safety. This is all in less than 12 hours of being at this place that wants to be called a hotel. Next morning my friends that I had to be split up with gets a call about checking out, we weren't supposed to check out for another 2 days. To make this looooong story semi-short they needed our rooms for the people that were checking in that day and the room that was supposed to be ours happened to be now ready. I did not want to move I felt for the inconvenience I had received the staff should've figured it out but I was offered a LATE CHECK OUT AND A REFUND. Not a full refund but a partial he didn't have authority to tell me how much and a manager was going to contact me and I understood that and we went to pack out things to move rooms for the convenience of the hotel. This was on Saturday October 12 at around 11am. I wish I would've grabbed the guy at the front desks name because it has been a week since I checked out and I have not once spoken with this so-called manager. Every time I call they tell me they'll let him know and take my name and number and nothing has been done. To make things worst the person who picked up today at 2:13pm on October 21st was rude when I told him my situation JUST STAY AWAY. Expedia booked us a hotel room with one bed for four people. Upon arriving to the hotel we were told that the room would be too small, but they had a bigger room available but it would cost almost double what we already paid. It was almost midnight and at this point we were only going to be in the hotel for half of the stay we paid for. I asked if they could just give us the empty room and I got an immense amount of attitude and resistance. The guy at the front wouldn't stop pushing his point down my throat. I had to point my finger and tell him to stop until he finally stopped. We ended up paying the extra for the room. They took advantage of us when we were in a difficult situation. I'm appalled and not surprised by their less than two star rating. read more

It's a terrible place to book a room. We couldn't go there due to snow storm warning, our flight got cancelled. JetBlue airline waived their fee but hillside hotel did not. Infact the lady on the phone mentioned they have been charging all of their guests because of this situation. read more
