The man printed four copies of my photo, gave me a receipt to keep on hand, and told me that I can always go back if I need more copies. I wish I wore some makeup and styled my hair. My concern is my weary appearance. Briefly, I felt I was taking either my high school or college yearbook portraits all over again. From the pre-party photo shoot to working on the montage to shooting the ceremony and the party to post production, Carlos provided expert suggestions, photography and patient guidance. We had a strange situation in which our school did not allow us for a retake (or maybe that is normal?). Of course, there are reasonable grounds when it comes to retakes. Sometimes parents/caretakers/guardians may be picky on small little things, but when it comes to eyes closed, horrible (DMV) expressions, hair covering face and other mishaps - it is not too much to ask when it comes to redoing since these are photos that parents PAY A HEFTY PRICE FOR. Especially when the goal is to really pay for a good end-product. What point would it be to pay for an expensive package only to find that the outcome was not up to your expectations? With that said, certain schools were very adamant about retakes - it costs more in the long run if there were these second chances to redo the photo taking. My gripe is that these photo packages are usually meant to benefit the school (hence the exorbitant costs for parents), and that is fine, but I also think being a satisfied customer should be part of this equation, as well. So instead of fighting this uphill battle with the school, I went ahead and took the initiative to contact the photography studio directly. This does require a bit more work and probably costs, but in the end, we all do what we have to do! We just have to figure out what it is that we really want. In any case, Mr. David was easily reachable and responded to emails in a timely manner. Although he was brief, he always got to the point (unlike me who was always quite terse and verbose.) So I hand it to Mr. David for dealing with all types of personalities! In the end, I got my retakes, and then some. We also managed to fit in our holiday photos (saves me a trip to JC PENNEYs). Yippee! I will always be grateful for Mr. David (as busy as he is running this whole show with a chunk of schools under his belt), he still made time for one-off requests like mine. I am glad for this opportunity, as Mr. David is quite humorous, but also very understanding with everything that is going on in not being allowed certain things that may be considered justified for a re-shoot. Plus he works really well with children, making the kiddies smile and do poses, with his poppy personality (makes a huge difference). We wish Mr. David and the The School Photo/AMC success in all he does, especially for the kiddies in the school system. His team is very professional, with designers and workers who makes it all happen to accommodate all schools of any size. It is a huge undertaking to be in the photo business - it requires a lot of preparation and work, and organization. Being that this company has been around for so long, AMC Photo Company really does deliver in many aspects. Great customer service when you call the main line, as well. I hope this review sheds more light into the whole "behind the scenes" that make up all these yearbook/expensive photos and whatever else , and how much coordination and precision is required to make all this come together. They noticed something going on with my eyes and immediately set an appointment for me to get my eyes checked for cataract and glaucoma. They have a great selection of frames, designer and non designer frames. And side note, I never had a problem with parking because if you can't find a parking space on the street there's a shopping center parking lot right across the street.
