I started going to Hillside almost a year ago because it was convenient to my job. Both front and back Medical Assistants are great, Providers are great, very knowledgeable and caring, I don't ever feel rushed....but the wait time can be improved. I have never seen a sign in the lobby advising that you may have to wait or that your time will be 1-1.5 hours from start to finish. I've shown up early and still have to wait until my exact appointment time or a few minutes after, other places I've been taken back seen and gone. Total time without seeing a doctor 2 hours 15 min. This includes the time in lobby and filling out iPad info Work on the schedule or tell your patients they may want to reschedule due to the wait Came back following day. All went well. The office runs very smoothly and there is always someone available to help. Edit to add I just got out of the hospital. I was misdiagnosed at this clinic. That is why I was not getting better and that is why the antibiotics were not working because after they tested me negative for Covid strep and flu they just assumed I had a bacterial infection not doing any further testing, turns out I have a viral infection and there are no antibiotics for viral infections so I had to get a steroid shot and a course of medicines which I could've been better a week ago if this clinic had known what they are doing, but they absolutely do not. I would not trust them with your health or life. If I could give it a zero I would. read more

I saw Dr. Rocha on my first visit ("she's only seeing new patients") as a friend of mine had recommended her. She and I discussed my issues and I had explained that I had been seen by a NP prior to coming to her had had bloodwork done but didn't feel as though the NP had adequately addressed the results for my issues I uploaded said results to the portal for her review upon her review she had additional bloodwork she wanted run along with a 24-hr urine test and scheduled a follow up in a few weeks to review my results. I went to my follow up appointment only to find that I had been scheduled with a NP to review them who didn't even know why the tests had been run and whom I had to explain my symptoms all over again to. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I expressed my to the assistant who brought me to the examination room that I should be seeing Dr. Rocha and the response I received was "she's only seeing new patients" I said I am a new patient I only have seen her once.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Then I was forced to have an EKG and blood flow test done. I was then seen by the NP who had no idea what was going on with me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I expressed my dismay about why I was even seeing her as she hadn't a clue about what I had discussed with Dr. Rocha and she too said "she's only seeing new patients" I said at a minimum they should have discussed my results and my issues so that she could adequately explain them to me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Her explanation was they don't do that prior they do that afterwards. In addition she tells me my EKG looks fine but Dr. Rocha still reviews them all steps out to review it with her and now suddenly there "may" be something wrong on the left hand side so I'm now being referred to a cardiologist and on top of that...the NP request led more bloodwork. Waited almost an hour to see someone. Then it wasn't the doctor but a NP. I was told my doctor is no longer working with her established patients-only new patients. Unfortunately, the NP did not know my history or that I was there for a follow-up appointment. I always schedule my appointment with Sandra Rocha and I get a confirmation and then a couple of days later they change my provider to some one different and I always call and complain about it and they tell me that Sandra Rocha is only taking in new patient and then they change your dr to someone else but I think its all about the insurance I have bcbs ppo and my mom see they same dr and they dont move her but my mom also has a lower insurance plan but ill be looking for a different dr if I cant see the provider I would like to see then I wouldn't pick hillside primary care. read more

They sent me this review request at the wrong time, because I literally just left the clinic (which was virtually empty) after waiting in the exam room for 45 minutes with no sign of my doctor. It was a follow up appointment. On my first day off after working 36 hours at the hospital over the weekend. I am tired. My appointment was at 11:00 AM and I checked I. From home, paid for my appointment in advance e and SHOWED UP ON TIME. - I WAITED MAYBE 5 minutes in the waiting room and then saw my MA who checked my vitals and told me the doctor would be in shortly. That was about 11:10.... And I waited .... And waited... at 11:50 I left the exam room told the MA I was leaving because I was not waiting any longer. An 11 AM appointment is at 11, not noon. I have been going to Hillside for just about a year now. I love my doctor. My health has improved greatly since seeing her....BUT just because I have an appointment doesn't mean I am willing to wait an hour or two for my doctor to see me. If the waiting room would have been full I probably would not have been so frustrated. If someone would have come and said the doctor is running behind, she apologizes for the wait... would you mind waiting? But no.... I literally sat on a hard chair in an exam room for almost an hour without a word. At times I wondered if everyone had left. Clinics and Doctors need to respect their patient's and keep in mind that we have made an appointment for a certain time and may have other obligations... They expect us to be on time and will charge a $50 fee if we don't show up - but they can't seem to offer us the courtesy of being on time and communicating with us with regards to our time. It is a service... we can choose other providers. I feel I deserve an apology from the clinic and the physician. Currently a very unhappy customer and patient. read more

We walked in and didn't get greeted. Was just handed a sheet to fill out and told to do the online process. Did that and was prompted with a 175.00 charge which they told me to ignore. They fixed it to 50.00 and I signed in. The waiting room is very awkward and the door slams every-time someone gets called to the back. I went in for a check due to having some symptoms and it was over an hour before I was even seen. Two people were in the room when I was pulled back. Neither introduced themselves just started asking me questions. One was standing in the corner, one on the computer. Took my blood pressure and was then left in the room for about 45 min til the Dr came. She was nice but I did inform her because of my prior experiences on this visit I wouldn't be back and she didn't ask what happened or try to fix anything. Just said ok. Scheduling has been a nightmare and I have no way to send direct message texts to my psychiatrist... who actually isn't even the one who prescribed my medication, I don't know wow that even is. I had 3 Scheduling mishaps within the course of 2 months. Definitely not going back. read more

As soon as you have a crew that starts catching on, they get replaced with new arrivals. I was promptly greeted and checked in, and my initial paperwork processed by professional first impression reception. The person taking my vitals was very professional. Made an appointment for an annual/preventative check up, I emailed a copy of my insurance ID do they could verify my coverage. They claimed this was done however I received a call prior to my appointment requesting my insurance card do they could verify coverage agsin. After explaining they had a copy and already verified, she put me on hold to verify, again. Day of my appointment, at check in, it says I owe $175 for my visit. I went up to the desk and explained it's an annual check up so it's 100% covered. After waiting an hour in the lobby I was told they verified with my insurance that I do indeed have to pay $175. I told them that was incorrect, and asked if they told the insurance company it was for an annual visit, to which she claimed they did. I even mentioned that I thought annual visits were required to be covered (it is an ACA requirement for anyone with medical insurance). I left, annoyed because I used a PTO day at work for this visit only to not even be seen. I immediately called my insurance company who confirmed they were called, but Hillside told them it was not for annual visit, which is why the insurance representative quoted the wrong coverage. The office staff not knowing what type of visit I was there for and not being aware of an ACA requirement that covers all of their insured patients tells a lot about this office in general. I can't trust that the providers are any better after this experience. I definitely recommend you find another office so that you don't waist your time and PTO like I did. read more
