From getting set up for an appointment to checking in, to professional care, everyone was extremely friendly, courteous and professional. I was promptly greeted and checked in, and my initial paperwork processed by professional first impression reception. The person taking my vitals was very professional. Dr. Rocha had already read the large volume of labs and medical records I brought in for her records. She was very attentive and was genuinely concerned about my care. I was very happy with her professionalism and how she explained the plan for my care. I would definitely recommend this practice and particularly Dr. Rocha with my highest recommendations! read more

Thank you for allowing me to keep Dr. Rocha. This time my wait was just under 2 hours, which is a huge improvement over past visits. Your front of house staff is aweful. As soon as you have a crew that starts catching on, they get replaced with new arrivals. Made an appointment for an annual/preventative check up, I emailed a copy of my insurance ID do they could verify my coverage. They claimed this was done however I received a call prior to my appointment requesting my insurance card do they could verify coverage agsin. After explaining they had a copy and already verified, she put me on hold to verify, again. Day of my appointment, at check in, it says I owe $175 for my visit. I went up to the desk and explained it's an annual check up so it's 100% covered. After waiting an hour in the lobby I was told they verified with my insurance that I do indeed have to pay $175. I told them that was incorrect, and asked if they told the insurance company it was for an annual visit, to which she claimed they did. I even mentioned that I thought annual visits were required to be covered (it is an ACA requirement for anyone with medical insurance). I left, annoyed because I used a PTO day at work for this visit only to not even be seen. I immediately called my insurance company who confirmed they were called, but Hillside told them it was not for annual visit, which is why the insurance representative quoted the wrong coverage. The office staff not knowing what type of visit I was there for and not being aware of an ACA requirement that covers all of their insured patients tells a lot about this office in general. I can't trust that the providers are any better after this experience. I definitely recommend you find another office so that you don't waist your time and PTO like I did. read more

We love our Dr. and the thorough evaluations. They take the time to really listen. only issues we have had is with having difficult communications with people on the phone, getting them to understand what you're trying to convey, not being able to give you much information on the phone and that they went through several doctors in a short amount of time. Staff is absolutely amazing, 10/10 conversation, I felt at ease and I didn't mind the 3 hour check up where 30 minutes of that was spent actually being checked on, luckily they have comfy seats and blue walls to stare at. However I'm really not impressed with how much money it cost to virtually waste my time. Like many others you can see in the reviews, I was charged the full $175 check up fee despite having insurance that should have covered the visit, but I am now having to figure out how to make a dispute because I guess full coverage got lost in translation. I was also rescheduled, which isn't a problem and the rescheduling itself was easy (shout out the foh!) but at my next appointment I was again charged a full $175 (come on I couldn't have even gotten the $100 follow up fee??) only to be rescheduled again, and by golly if it wasn't for the amazing foh staff recognizing me (because at this point it was my 3rd visit) and telling me I don't have to pay the fee since I paid it recently, I have full faith I, for the third time, would have been charged a full one hundred and seventy five American dollars. Long live the USA. My third and final visit was for lab work, but I guess whoever runs this place heard that I unfortunately had not spent the $175 rescheduling fee, because today I received a bill of $50 for lab work and results, results I should have gotten over a telecom meeting sometime last year, which by the way happy new year! The joke is that call never happened, and I never got my lab results which sucks because I basically spent $350 just to pee in a cup for no reason. I was even happy for a second seeing the letter. I thought all that needle poking paid off and I got my long awaited lab results... but no. It's enough to make anyone open a yelp account. My lab results and that phone call are probably lost in the same place my insurance information (that could have paid for this whole fiasco) went, and to that I say please come home, I just want to know what happened. I don't want to go back to Hillside Primary Care because at this point I don't think I can afford to, but everyone is so nice there and I never finished reading that magazine they have in the waiting room. read more

A huge money grab facility! They want to charge you for everything and bill for everything. You can't get a simple prescription without doing multiple tests. Beware 1 visit isn't enough to get anything accomplished, you will be back and paying more. read more

The wait is long. They have a sign saying, expect your appointment to take an hour to an hour and a half, and it's accurate. they don't listen to you, they form their opinion based on their training, but they don't listen so they can apply the training they have to all of the issues you have and form a more complete diagnosis. they make appointments with the doctor and then relegate you to the PAs. Their lobby is full of Hindu Idol, repulsive! read more

There was one nurse, Megan, who was incredibly kind and personable, but the rest of the staff that I encountered, including 2 nurse practitioners and the 2 front desk receptionists, were very cold, not rude, just cold. Every one of those individuals lacked compassion and empathy. I felt like a case study, not a patient they gave a hoot about. The Officer staff is pleasant, and I usually don't have to wait when I get in. however, when I have a Telemedicine visit at 3:00pm & I'm not called for my appointment at 6:20pm it's a bit frustrating. Just because I'm telemedicine shouldn't mean I can be put off. read more

Unlike other physicians, she listens to my concerns and answers without showing any signs of impatience. For 20 years, I have been used to sub-standard primary care. We used our urgent care near us in Austin instead of our primary care facility because I could never get an available appointment for anything except annual wellness checks. After COVID and some very disappointing experiences with hospital care and specialists, I kind of gave up and thought it was time to look for outside the box treatments and hope my annuals came up clear for as long as possible. We are now retired and Obama care has been a nightmare for early retirement. Our Insurance changes every year and our doctors change with every insurance change. FINALLY, I found a doctor and a group that cares and is actually MANAGING my care! Dr. Sandra Rocha at Hillside Primary Care has been a breath of fresh air. She has listened to my concerns about my health and helped me stay on track to follow up on things that have fallen by the way side for years. She is competent, organized, responsive and compassionate. The process of catching up on baseline testing as you get older like bone density, chest CT, and heart monitoring is daunting. I am now visiting a cardiologist for the very first time without having to hunt down a doctor and schedule 6 months out. Dr. Rocha preemptively suggestd a chest CT which showed some early developing nodules that, while not concerning, thank goodness, could have been something worse I never would have known about. Dr. Rocha is the best doctor I have had in my adult life and I am so grateful that Hillside Primary Care has opened it's doors in New Braunfels. read more

Upset because I waited 2 half hours for my appointment. My schedule appointment was at 3 and didn't get a link to my appointment until 5:30. Not even a courtesy call from the office that they are running behind schedule. I was already in the middle of dinner with my kids and I couldn't attend my appointment and I got charged my co pay.
