We are -- in our real everyday worlds - much like the masks of Comedy and Tragedy, grinning on the outside and grimacing on the inside. Much was the feeling inside when the new roofing nail was pulled from my tire and there was a roofing job going on at my pretentious neighbors house. They blocked my driveway, I left a note - and the eyes of the block reported their lowlife attack on my tire. Poor people just never get it - it's like David Dunning's theory of Stupidity (ignorant) never recognizes itself, if your stupid, you don't have the processing power to understand that, well, that's what you are. I did get to use my nifty new double compressor tire inflator - great tool for the trunk and limped over to Hillside Ave. Within that central switching point behind the masks, when the two wires have connection and electric emotions are beginning to become created - well that's when the peace or the horror really comes home, because life is full of horrors. Some small that we can comprehend and large ones that we tend to avoid looking at. Because it's Halloween - today's review had to take on some of the holiday spirit - truth is, I prefer writing in this "off taste" style as I've been told my writing seems to be and how "morbid a person I must be" to that I say "boulderdash" who doesn't like a good fright now and again. For myself, I prefer them perhaps more than others. However and in conclusion -switching back -- it's suffice to say that the rigs tire got fixed up quickly and we rolled on outta there in under twenty minutes with no prior wait time with a final price of ten bucks and a fiver for my man working the tools. read more

I had the misfortune of being stuck having to use this shop. The owner was quite the shady businessman. He assured me he would balance my new tires (kinda standard right?) then once I got on the highway the car shook like crazy. He DID NOT BALNCE THE TIRES after telling me he did. I had to pay my local shop to do the balance. Not only is that dishonest its dangerous! AVOID this place! read more

Iv come here many times, the only place I will ever go. It's 5$ to fix a flat. No charge for air in the tires. Used tires run for about 35-45$ usually last me two seasons. Most important is to tip the guys working the pit especially since 5$ to fix a flat is pennies compared to what you would pay if you had to do this in Manhattan ($25). read more

must have used them a couple of dozen times over the years. This is latest treatment I received as repeat customer. Damaged 1 very expensive rim when mounting 2 tires. Rim was in flawless condition when I came in. Demanded full payment and refused to do anything whatsoever to compensate, not even a simple apology. An honest person would at least simply apologize and waive the lousy $60 considering the customer now has to pay $125 to repair the damage that he caused not to mention the wasted time to get it done. Proceeded to insult my intelligence with a series of changing self-contradictory and mutually contradictory stories and lies. First, worker goes "yeah, it was damaged by the machine". Boss goes "it's *impossible* to mount tire on this kind of rim without damaging it." I go, so how come every other shop that mounted the tires on these rims before didn't damage them and *you* didn't damage the 2nd rim? To wit, I drove in with tires mounted on these rims without damage. Next: Worker says "It can't be the machine, the machine would damage the rim in a different spot". Boss goes "Oh yeah, he's right." Me: So now you are telling me that what you were swearing up and down was impossible the last 5 minutes is in fact exact opposite and you didn't damage the rim but I you are telling me to my face I came in with it damaged? Like I am some moron who doesn't know the rim I was staring at for 10 minutes while the guy was working on the car had no damage? It's a black rim that now has a metal gash where black powder coat is missing. Everyone saw the rims were perfect. The guy is telling me to my face i didn't see what I just saw. Next: "There is no guarantee, it's federal law, tire shop is not responsible for causing any damage." Really, what federal law is that? "Oh, if you told me in the beginning, I would have declined to do the job with these wide rims and tires." So I am required to inform you that I have an unusual special request for you not to damage my rims? And if I don't you can damage them? "It's done, there is nothing I can do for you now." On and on it went. I am like, dude, you *know* this is wrong. You *know* you damaged my rim. Normal person would just say.. I apologize about that, no charge, we'll try to be more careful next time. I gave him every opportunity to so *something* to make it right, *anything*. It's a small amount of money. I know shops that dropped cars off the lift and made it right. But no, it's the greed, always the greed. Right, wrong, truth, lies, nothing matters -- only money. Well, not much I can do given that my car is hostage unless I want to get cops involved which will waste hours I don't have. So I drove away like a loser, he is ostensibly a winner because he got his way and took my money. I hope he chokes on it. read more

I came here to patch a tire and I was in and out. Pull up right on Hillside Ave facing the Van Wyck Expressway and an employee will immediately assist you. This place is quick and inexpensive ($5 to patch a flat) and used tires for $25 and up). Don't go to some corporate chain and get gouged. Hit up this local spot in Queens and you will be satisfied. read more

I'm going to give them 3 stars with a disclaimer so please read on. For most of us, a used tire place is where we go to fix a flat. If the tire can't be repaired, we buy a used tire and throw it on the car. It's a money saver and a time saver. So what do you want from a place that fixes flats? 1. Low prices = they got that 2. Fast GOOD service. = They got that These guys will take good care of you. They will be quick and thorough. BUT beyond this simple service of flats fixed and used tires sold. I cannot recommend them. I had damage to a rim a few years back. I left the rim with them overnight. I was going to come back and tell them if I was trashing it (they could have it) or repairing it. When I came back the next morning the owner had SOLD MY RIM to a rim refurbishing place on LONG ISLAND. I made a big stink but it didn't matter. I had to drive all the way to Long Island to get my rim only to be told it was gone. I had to buy a new one. HILLSIDE TIRE SHOP sold my property without my permission and then denied selling it, saying the guy just took it. The guy visits them regularly and only takes what they give him. Simply put, they lied to me. They told me the rim could not be repaired. A guy a few blocks away told me he could fix it easily. Once again THEY LIED TO ME. So in closing. they are great to simply fix a flat or install new tires. Don't let them hold your rims and don't trust their advice on rims. Tires only and they are OK. read more

On June 13th 2016 , I went to this tire repair shop for two use tires. First I was ignored by three worker's as I stood in the heat with my family trying to get help. Once I started to complain about the lack of help a worker named Lloyd comes over with the worst attitude I have ever seen. We talk about my situation and I ask for a price. It was way too much money and I try to talk better prices, all of a sudden another customer who is a regular customer decided to give his unwanted opinion and told me to go back where I came from if I don't like it! This is when I'm feeling pretty uncomfortable. I ask Lloyd does he wanna work with me and make some money or is this guy running things. Mind you this random guy was only getting air put in his tires but still felt the need to involve himself in my business. After a few minutes of being told oh well if you don't like it I left and found the best spot a block away and I am satisfied. I hope this is helpful to anyone looking to be treated well. read more

These guys used to be good! The owner is not nice or helpful. Last time I swapped out summer tires to winter tires they screwed up and made my wheel wobble. I only noticed when I got back on the road. They then over-torqued the bolts and caused issues this year to remove the bolts. They only care about selling their product to you. I went there to buy used tires for my car and the the tires he showed me were in poor conditions. I told them I'll come later when more tires come in. Their color changes really fast. Which shows that before selling you their product they're very nice but once they're done taking the money from you they will pretend they don't even know you. read more
