I'm clearly living such a charmed life! I Just came off the J train in Brooklyn from an all day training in lower Manhattan. I could tell that I had a flat tire. And there was also a not very angry note in my windshield (in both Spanish and English) telling me that I had parked all day partially blocking a long residential parking driveway. Get this: no ticket, no problem with the car. And I was 4-5 blocks from Whitey's tire service. Enormous tire place (on BOTH Sides of Atlantic Avenue). AND When I slowly rolled up, three guys were waiting there chitchatting and directed me inside. I jokingly got out of the car and said, "I just need an oil change." Then I found the boss and told him don't bother changing the flat, sell me 4 new tires. They are putting them on for $520 total. Nice, right? Highly recommend this place read more

I explained I had rims I bought online and I needed new tires . He went over my options and assured me he would test fit the rim as the company I bought from required. I winded up getting the 4 tires wheel locks and the sensor swap as well as mounting and balancing all came to $608 out the door . They are top notch in service and parts . Every time I move to a new neighborhood I try and find the place everyone goes and has the trifecta: good reviews on google, Yelp and Facebook. This is hard and even harder when dealing in cars--there are always crazy customers you won't please no matter how good you are. however, whiteys accomplishes this and I have had nothing but positive experiences here: they are efficient, polite, honest and hardworking. They know not to nickel and dime because the true value is longevity. I've asked their opinion on tires, brakes, oil, and they never try and tell me to replace something before it needs replacing--because of this, I come back when it does need replacing. I appreciate that they tell me they are busy and I should come back rather than trying to pile more customers on and making everyone wait. Their staff reflect these values in how they treat customers: with respect, professionalism and honesty. Their prices are fair and they can even beat tire rack. I've been shopping around for tires for about a month, I went to Whitey's and met Butch. I was impressed by his knowledge, suggestions and most of all his patience. He gave me options that I hadn't even thought about and quoted me prices that were totally reasonable. The tires that I wanted were not in stock and Butch said he could order them for me and have them in a day or so. I wasn't ready to order them yet because it was slightly out of my price range, however I will go back in a week to order them. on 2/7/24 went in for tire issues was advised to purchase new tire, next day tire went flat upset that I felt whiteys may have mislead me due to new tire going flat next day, so I went to a different shop was told that the tire was just sealed and not done properly, also was told my tire the original one that was inspected was not the problem it was my rim, so money wasted and a tire I didn't need,, whiteys are straight up tricksters and thinking back now I see why I was questioned by them as to when I purchased new tire why I was taking my old tire; glad I did or I would of not known about how they deceived me.. I've been trying to service my car for a wheel alignment for over 1mo but every time I go there either a 3hr wait and I only have one guy working or else, they don't seem to work with the costumer, I asked for an appointment the guy tells me "ooh we don't do appointments either you sit there and wait or come back at a later day. No sense of understanding that people have jobs some of us 2 jobs and is very hard to find a day to sit here for 3hrs. And if you get there after 3:30pm you're out of luck at that point. This review is regarding the service department across the street from the tire shop. If you bring your car to get serviced here I believe you will save money compared to the dealership. As with any auto service dealer you will always need to double check to see if they are accurate in telling you what needs to be done. They told me something needed to be changed. I took it somewhere else and they told me that wasn't the problem. Forget about the service part , my main concern is that you have to be really careful because we are in a Corona Virus Crisis here in this city and a lot of the mechanics here don't wear masks. Forget about social distancing . That's out the window. So you bring your car in. You end up standing there waiting outside inhaling dust fumes and hopefully no virus although you could go across the street and sit down but nobody want to do that because the room is too small to socially distant. C'mon guys, have you seen what the healthcare workers have gone through to save lives. The least we can do is wear a mask and practice social distancing slow the spread of disease!!! read more

I have been using Whitey's for over ten years. Not only are they good for tires but they have an excellent full service automotive shop across the street. Stefano who runs the shop is a very nice guy to deal with. My daughter turned me on to the shop when, after taking her transmission apart looking for a problem and finding nothing wrong, they did not charge her for this work. Pulled rolled the window down told them I needed to replace a tpms sensor and just like a pit crew they gave me a good price and showed me everything they did so I know they did their job right. Jr assisted me in all aspects of this issue. I was here about 2 years ago. I have a new Toyota Rav 4 I had a few bad tires from Yokohama under warranty. Yokohama replaced the 4 tires with better tires with 75 k miles warranty. Thanks so much Yokohama great service and standing behind your product. I also asked Yokohama for a place to have the tires mounted and balanced since Toyota would not install these tires as they said they were not OEM. JR was so helpful and professional. Yes they have a good price for brand new tires compared to most places but aside from that if you want to get any work done to your car such as alignments oil changes brakes struts everything etc go anywhere else in the area for a better price and respectable people. They didn't let me pay upfront and they told me that I needed a bunch of things done that I actually didn't need done according to three or four other places in the area so I think that their mechanics try to run up the bill because they work under a big awning. They even tried to charge me 100 to take my car off the lift for diagnostics and i had to call my husband to come before they let me leave with my own car. Lol I got everything for about the same price done at Speedys just a few blocks down Atlantic and i didnt feel disrespected at all. Pretty much sums it up. read more

I'm rating a tire service shop five stars because they truly deserve it. I am not a "tires" or "car" person--I'm not entirely even sure what rims are and why they are a thing. What I do know is that I want my car to go from point A to B safely and without breaking down. Recently, we got a huge nail in one tire, which was patched up and because self-evident that it was time for new tires. Off to research which was the best value and performance. And the result was some hardish to find Finnish tires (some of you know which I'm talking about). Whiteys was one of a few Brooklyn dealers to carry the brand, but with by far the best reviews. The staff was great-- fast, responsive, good prices, and no bait and switch. It was worth driving 30 minutes in Brooklyn traffic to get the great products and service--only regret is wish they were closer! read more

Mario was super helpful and patient in answering all my questions and taking my calls. He wasn't able to order the tire that I wanted (my car takes a very unusual size), but I was able to ship the tires there to have them put on. His staff is friendly and prompt, and it seems they did a great job. The only reason for the four star review is that most of the mechanics and other working there were not wearing masks the two times I went, both in the garage and in the office. read more

Very bad Experience when in there for we alignment came out with my car doing worse then when I went in There in the first please, went back to tell them and had me pay for the problem they made by hitting my car with a Sledgehammer now my car has to get fixed because of them. I purchased a set of 4 tires from this shop not even three months later all four tires (Ironman brand brand) blew out out on me on the road, the tires are garbage and the customer service suck as well, they wouldn't replace or even discount a set of new tires for me and they have the nerves to talked about warranty when you first purchased them, warranty on what? never again will I buy from these people. This place is dope. I spend a lot of time at Finback Brewery and once I was leaving there when I realized that my car had a flat tire. Looked for places nearby that were open (it was Sunday afternoon) and saw this place. They were closing soon, but said if I came right over they could accommodate me. Got there ASAP and they were able to repair my flat. I was in & out for $10 and about as many minutes. That was a few years ago. Cut to this week. Driving home from Maryland, approaching the Lincoln Tunnel, my car spins out for what feels like basically no reason. I mean, it had been raining, but I wasn't speeding or texting or anything. I crossed 3 lanes of traffic and crashed into a curb. Thankfully no other cars were near me, so my rim was broken, but my tire was not busted so I was able to get back into the city and make it to Queens. However, obviously I needed to get a new rim, minimally, and who knows what else. I called Whitey's and they said just bring it on it, no appointment necessary. They took a look and unfortunately couldn't repair the rim but could set me up with a used one for $30. They asked what happened and I told them, and instantly the guy said, "Well 3 of your tires are worn out." They asked if I wanted to replace them and I was like, well, I def NEVER WANT WHAT JUST HAPPENED TO EVER HAPPEN AGAIN so yeah. They took care of my tires & rim and I was able to be on my way within like less than 20 min. So, then I went through all my paperwork and it turns out that I originally replaced my tires when they were at 35k miles. I had a tire get damaged beyond repair and replaced it at 52k miles. My car is currently at 91k miles. So it turns out that the 3 tires I just replaced had 56k miles on them (and the 1 remaining has 39k miles on it)! I'm pretty angry at Toyota, since I faithfully take my car there to be serviced every 5k miles and they obviously were not really checking my tires carefully... But I'm also SUPER STOKED with the service & prices at Whitey's. Also they have a cool logo with the Road Runner and they give away free stickers & key chains. *meep meep* read more

I bought tires 9/1/22 from whitey's tire shop. I spent over $600 on two of what I thought was BRAND NEW TIRES. My husband noticed there was an excessive amount of glue on both tires When I got home but we didn't think anything of it. I started having slow leak issues about 6 months later and brought my car to a different tire shop. They put air in my tires and I thought everything was good. About a week later my tire service light came on again. I brought the car back to the same guy and when he took them off to inspect, he noticed that there was no seal on the tires. I had to pay $40 for sealing the tires that WHITEY NEVER DID. While dealing my tires, the tech noticed that there was no barcodes on either of the tires that was purchased from Whitey's. He said I should ask why was that because SLL tires should have barcodes. I called whitey's and spoke with the manager (Mario) and he gave me a really poor excuse as to why the tires didn't have barcode. He attempted to explain that Whitey's removes barcodes in certain instances because it will cause the tire to leak. I HAVE BEVER HEARD SUCH STUPIDITY. I told him I spent $40 to seal tires that should have been sealed when I purchased them and I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED TO KNOW THAT THIS COMPANY IS SELLING US UNTRACEABLE TIRES. I will never go to this tire shop again. Make sure you check for barcodes ( which is inside the tire). I would have never known if I didn't bring my car somewhere else. BEWARE read more

Had a rattling in my car and called for an appointment. People that answered were very friendly and courteous. They told me it was walk-in only and that I could go immediately but it would be at least an hour wait. Shower up and the guys were very friendly and helpful. Two mechanics checked my car and told me exactly what the problem was. They gave me two options, one more affordable only fixing what was necessary and another fixing that and a few other things. I took the second option. I was able to go home and they called me when the car was ready. The car feels like new. The parts have a warranty and they told me that I could go if I had any issues and they'd take care of it. read more

It's such a pleasure to do company with people who are nice and honest! I got a blowout today and was able to drive a short distance to a nearby tire shop. The worker at the other shop told me he'd have to order a tire for me, for 350.00. That was 130 more than my husband was quoted by a different worker there. We went to Whitey's and paid 200 for each tire. We wound up replacing both front tires since the guys were so reasonable and accommodating!
