We were surprised that a wine bar warranted that kind of comment. If it's a coffee shop, library, book store, then OK. But a wine bar? We left and went next door to Thyme. Our party of 3 all had different wines, I had a Cabernet and it was one of the most delicious wines I've had in recent memory. I also tried a sparkling wine my wife was having and the essence of almond made it even better. In addition the setting outside was very relaxing. They have some oak casks in a display surrounded by flowers and grasses, so you are surrounded by nature along with music that enhances the atmosphere. Our server did a great job taking care of us. We were able to really enjoy the service and relax. We definitely will be returning on our next visit to Door County!

I was in plays here and I went to plays as well as exhibits. Every time I am in town I like to see the current exhibit as well. I stopped by this time to hang with my mom as she took an art class in the back. They told me the current exhibit was open so I could go check that out as well. It was an exhibit of art professors from NMU. I really loved the video piece (no picture of it) as well as the ceramic plates. There are many talented people in the yoop and for a rural area, it is rich in culture. Support the arts!

The 4 areas include the popular and extensive patio area, a lower dining room by their bar, a large upper main dining room, and another upper level dining area (where we sat) with a view of the patio. Corinne was our friendly, attentive, and capable veteran server with 17 years experience here. Wife ordered their breaded grouper with mashed potatoes. It went for $39.95 and included a traditional French onion soup without cheese. I had their queen sized prime rib for $44.95 and it included a cherry spinach salad and rice pilaf. It was a nice medium rare as expected and it was all delicious and filling for both the wife and myself. The dishes were quite good values when considering the portion sizes and the quality of the mains and the sides. I also had a delightful Wisconsin Old Fashioned for a very reasonable $8.25! Apparently they also offer a Wisconsin Old Fashioned with a premium brandy that goes for $13.50, but the $8.25 version was delicious and plenty good enough for me and it packed a punch too btw. It really wasn't that busy for a Saturday night and the food came out readily. It felt like throughout our visit this weekend that vacation traffic was not at expected summer peaks and the pro-tip in theory here is that the first weekend in June is typically not as busy as school has just let out and families aren't in vacation swing just yet. We typically stay in Fish Creek, but since we booked our trip only a week in advance, there were no available accommodations there. We decided on Bailey's Harbor instead, which is just a 20-minute drive from Fish Creek, offering stunning views of the lake, surrounding nature, and charming villages along the way. I paid $200 for one night in a Trailside One Bedroom Suite, which featured an apartment-style layout with a queen bed, a pull-out sofa in the living room, a full kitchen, parking, and a lovely view of the wooded trail area. The room was spacious and clean, providing a cozy, cabin-like atmosphere that was more than enough for two people. The property itself is absolutely beautiful, with walking trails, stunning views of Lake Michigan, and a peaceful, secluded ambiance. It also offers a dock, beach area, hot tub, and pool, all surrounded by majestic pines. We were able to easily walk to the water, the breakfast hall, and other areas of the property. During our stay, we also noticed a small wedding taking place, adding to the charming atmosphere. The only thing preventing me from giving a 5-star review is the quality of the breakfast. It was typical of a basic hotel breakfast--scrambled eggs made from powdered eggs, cereal, coffee, juice, and so on. As someone who loves breakfast, it would have been a nice touch to have freshly made scrambled eggs and hashbrowns, which would have really elevated the experience for me. Overall, I'm excited to return in the summer to take advantage of the outdoor pool, hot tub, beach area, dock, and outdoor seating. The property was beautiful and it was huge. There were options to stay in cabins, houses, and a lodge. There were also hiking trails and it sat on Lake Michigan so you could Kayak or swim in the pool over looking the lake. There were also basketball courts and tennis courts. You could basically spend your whole time on the property and have your vacation there. We stayed in Cabins. This one is the Spruce and it's where Leslie and I roomed. The cabin had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, living room, and fireplace. And we had a gorgeous view of Lake Michigan right out front. Everything was so quiet on the campus. It was super relaxing and I got two nights of fantastic sleep! I also have to add they have hot water and there was great water pressure. Not everyone talks about bathrooms and showers, but for me a hot shower is like a cup of coffee. I don't like coffee and I need the shower to wake me up. They had super soft towels too. This is another small thing that is huge. I can't stand small scratchy towels. These were big and fluffy They also had a buffet breakfast and a restaurant. The breakfasts were amazing! They had different buffets each morning too. I had such a great stay!
