I was in plays here and I went to plays as well as exhibits. Every time I am in town I like to see the current exhibit as well. I stopped by this time to hang with my mom as she took an art class in the back. They told me the current exhibit was open so I could go check that out as well. It was an exhibit of art professors from NMU. I really loved the video piece (no picture of it) as well as the ceramic plates. There are many talented people in the yoop and for a rural area, it is rich in culture. Support the arts!

They look for and add the intimate touches like real cloth table clothes, candles, munchies and comfortable seating for events - a true breath of fresh air Don't miss the "art exhibits" too ...and remember, they are always thankful of your financial support! The "new room smell" was quite strong, but the room was spotless and well-appointed. The view was amazing. We dined at the restaurant on site - good service, good food, great view. Bigby Coffee is not our favorite but it is certainly convenient. Plenty of parking, great amenities - we didn't have time to take advantage of the free bikes and kayaks but what a great option to have! The pool/hot tub/sauna are dated but it was clean and nice to have available. We would stay again if we come back this way.

It was just what the doctor ordered and aleviated my pain. I visited with my service dog and had no issues so long as he was wearing his vest. The staff was helpful and courteous. They even followed up with a text message to make sure we were enjoying our stay. The restaurant on site was quite pricy. I did not try the coffee shop that brewed their own local coffee. Our room was recently renovated. It was perfect for us since we parked right outside the door. It was tastefully decorated with scenes of Michigan's natural beauty. Outside, there was also a pathway along the lake to go for a stroll and enjoy the outdoors. I would definitely return to this hotel on my next visit to Escanaba!

Brides Beware!! This place is a nightmare! I rented a bunch of chairs, tables, a wedding arch etc…read morefrom them for my barn wedding ( totaling around $1,000). When dropping items off they had to make a second trip because they forgot random items such as table bases for the pub tables, eventually they got it all there. They were supposed to pickup the rented items on August 28th at 11 per the contract I had with them, the items were ready to be picked up by 9am ( we got to the barn super early to make sure all tables and chairs were clean and stacked). They never showed up, no phone call, no text, nothing, they just didn't come. My mom and dad waited 5 hours at the barn we rented for them and we called all three business numbers trying to get ahold of them ( including the after hours emergency number) we never got an answer. As any bride knows when you rent a venue you do it for a specified period of time, we ended up going a day over on our barn rental because they didn't show up. In fact the owner of the venue ended up having to be there to unlock the venue and deal with them that Monday which was highly inconvenient for her. They would only refund me half of the costs I incurred due to their incompetence. My mom signed the paper accepting the partial refund ( I was on my honeymoon) but honestly I wish she hadn't because they need to pay the entire amount ( and should pay for the wasted 5 hours waiting for them to show up). I will never ever recommend a bride rent from here, weddings are stressful enough without dealing with an uncaring and poorly run company that breaks their own contract and who doesn't even have the courtesy to call you! Contrary to what they will have you believe there are other rental places in the UP, save yourself the hassle and call one of them!
