We stayed here for three days and two nights after Labor Day and loved it. It was quiet and the weather was beautiful. The staff greeted us and treated us right. The free breakfast was good...not the best, but okay. We'll definitely be back.

Been visiting Door County, WI for many years, my husband and I highly recommend Gordon Lodge Resort. This amazing Resort is very well maintained and just beautiful. We enjoy all their amenities , their complimentary breakfast, Door County Coffee and the most delicious Cherry Turnovers. We must also mention Top Deck Restaurant in their property for the A1 quality of food, superb service and the most breathtaking view of the lake. The Staff is very welcoming, professional and friendly. Liz & Mike Rivera Chicago, IL

This place is awesome! They have free paddle boards to use as well as 1&2 person kayaks. There is a pool and hot tub too. There are tennis courts on site and they provide rackets and balls free to use. Kerry Rose the front desk attendant is FANTASTIC!! We asked her so many questions about what to do each day of our stay and she did not disappoint. My family and I literally did everything she suggested and it was amazing. She is so nice and friendly-- give her a raise!! The rest of the staff was great, but she really went above and beyond to make our vacation special and catered to what we like. Highly recommend this place!

I hadn't been to Door County before and wasn't sure what to expect but it's really nice up here. About 21/2 hours from Milwaukee, Gordon Lodge sits where the north bay and Lake Michigan meet (I think). This place is really way out of the way and stands 15 minutes from the quant towns but offers pretty much everything you need to rest and enjoy nature. The pool is littered with lots of little screaming kids so i stayed clear of it. The expansive property offers really nice cottages, and hotel rooms for a reasonable mid-summer weekend rate. On location is a nice dinner house with great west facing sunset views. The room was nice, clean, not terribly fancy but much better than expected. The breakfast (which was free) was your typical Residence inn style food. The eggs were pre cracked and bagged (nasty). Most of my food was cold and even the fresh fruit was "summer slimy". I really think this place should do better than serving cold average-at -best food. How about at least a hot cooked to order egg station? I def don't recommend breakfast- kind of nasty average cheap buffet food. Other than that, this place is really nice. I'd come back and stay in a cottage next time (and cook my own breakfast . Great family vacation place

We love Gordon Lodge and Top Deck, we enjoyed the privacy and tranquility of "Walnut". It's like having your own private lake shore nestled in the cedars. We've stayed on the bay side, in the lodge, and now the lakeside - we love to hear the waves washing on the rocks. We had beautiful weather to hike the 135 acres and guest only trails. The Top Deck is one of our favorites - the views, the food, and the attention - all excellent. Thanks Wendy & John for sharing your slice of heaven with us. Visit and enjoy - we always do.

Recently stayed here with my friend for a few days. Been here before and always have a wonderful time. Lodge is clean as are other areas. Very friendly and helpful staff. Each person given card to be used for complimentary breakfast each morning of their stay. Good variety of options of various breakfast foods, pastries, drinks and coffee. Different food options daily. Each adult is also given a card for buy 1 get 1 free drink to be used at the Top Deck Restaurant. I really like this lodge. It is a great getaway.

Loved the 50's retro-esque vibe to Gordon Lodge, complete with orange carpet and a awesomely pink bathroom. It was nice and spacious and has a unique vibe to it. You even get real keys to get into the rooms, old school. Definitely incognito way up in the bay so it feels very up northy. Sunsets are gorgeous and the hotel breakfast is down right good. The bed+pillows could use a little work, kinda hard for my liking. The patio with table and chairs in front of the room is clutch along with the lake views. Gordon Lodge will give you that good Door County Experience, check it out!

This place is absolutely idyllic. The gorgeous, peaceful setting exceeded our expectations. The staff here have all been so polite, positive, and helpful. The views are amazing and there is so much to do! Stayed in a lodge suite which was perfectly clean and spacious. At Gordon Lodge you can get away from it all but be 10-30 minutes from all the activities door county has to offer. Can't wait to come back to this special place!

The place is huge, and has 4 distinct dining areas and a capacity of 400 guests. The 4 areas include the popular and extensive patio area, a lower dining room by their bar, a large upper main dining room, and another upper level dining area (where we sat) with a view of the patio. Corinne was our friendly, attentive, and capable veteran server with 17 years experience here. Wife ordered their breaded grouper with mashed potatoes. It went for $39.95 and included a traditional French onion soup without cheese. I had their queen sized prime rib for $44.95 and it included a cherry spinach salad and rice pilaf. It was a nice medium rare as expected and it was all delicious and filling for both the wife and myself. The dishes were quite good values when considering the portion sizes and the quality of the mains and the sides. I also had a delightful Wisconsin Old Fashioned for a very reasonable $8.25! Apparently they also offer a Wisconsin Old Fashioned with a premium brandy that goes for $13.50, but the $8.25 version was delicious and plenty good enough for me and it packed a punch too btw. It really wasn't that busy for a Saturday night and the food came out readily. It felt like throughout our visit this weekend that vacation traffic was not at expected summer peaks and the pro-tip in theory here is that the first weekend in June is typically not as busy as school has just let out and families aren't in vacation swing just yet. This is what I'd refer to as an upscale supper club. They make a great old fashioned and you have your choice of a dinner salad or cup of soup with all entrees. Most entrees come with a protein, au gratin potatoes and the vegetables of the day. I usually get either the whitefish or the duck. On this visit I had the whitefish and it was absolutely delicious. It was perfectly cooked and simply prepared with lemon and butter which is exactly what goes with really fresh whitefish. They serve it with a side of tartar sauce...but I'd never do that to this lovely fish, so just left that alone. The potatoes and vegetables were good as always. Desserts are all made in house except for the key lime pie which is actually flown in from Florida. I love all their desserts, but went with the key lime pie which was amazing. They also have boozy ice cream drinks if you prefer a drinkable dessert. Service is always excellent with a good number of servers who have been with Alexander's for many years. They have a great location atop a hill on main thoroughfare Highway 42, and a short 5 minute walk away from the heart of Sister Bay's vibrant commercial strip.  They are also a relative good value and get bonus points for having an English theme.  Having had many memorable and pleasant stays in the UK, any place that takes me back is a plus, and this place did that to a degree.   The owner and innkeeper Mike was at the desk when we arrived.  He's my kind of guy - a friendly Brit with a sense of humor.  When I said we had a party of 2 for 1 night, he dryly replied "Oh, but we have you for a party of 1 for 2 nights". As I rolled my eyes, he broke out into a chuckle, ha.  He's a native of Portsmouth, England and has owned and run this nice property for 25 years.  The 2-story property is homey, inn-like and not hotel-like, nicely and quaintly decorated in English style, and has a bar and several cozy sitting areas.  There's a 24 hour complimentary bean grinding coffee machine and the bar works on a self service guest honor system.  A swimming pool is also available in the back for those interested.  The included breakfast is comprised of a large and delicious selection, and their particularly delicious almond Danish pastry was more pie like and quite distinctive.  Each room has a name (ours was #104, the Winchester) and a small patio and it was comfortably laid out.   I really want to give this place 5 stars particularly for its location and value and theme but will have to hold back to 4 stars.   The reasons being that I didn't get a great sleep because 1) the pillows were too spongy and soft for me, 2) the king bed was a bit soft and bouncy, and 3) the wall A/C was quite loud when it kicked on briefly and frequently.    We may be back someday during the quieter heating season and try a different room (i.e., bed) also.  I may also start bringing my own pillows as my pillow complaint is not uncommon and not aimed just at the Inn here.  I really do like this place and the owner.

Maybe a new staff member for the summer. The room had that quaint, countryside feel. It does have a musky scent when you first walk into the room. Once you're in there for a couple of mins you don't notice it anymore. Everything was very clean with the exception of the tub in the bathroom that had some hairs left behind by the former guest and some microscopic bugs by the sink. The bathroom has small vials of shampoo, conditioner, lotion and bath/body gel - keep that in mind cause I'm always used to hotels having a huge refillable container of all those products.
