We had our modular home built by Westchester Modular and then Saratoga Modular Homes, LLC, finished…read morethe home after it was delivered and set on the foundation. Saratoga Modular acted as our general contractor. We lived on Long Island while the home was being built and was commuting back and forth about every week or two. The home was finished in May of 2014. From Day 1 our master shower leaked into the basement. We brought it to Cecil Provost's attention multiple times over the course of 7 years. Cecil is the owner of Saratoga Modular Homes, LLC. He kept saying it was "bad" grout. He wanted to seal it with caulking. Not on my brand-new tile shower! Seven years later Cecil had his worker rip out the complete shower and re-build it. THE PAN WAS NOT INSTALLED PROPERLY! Westchester Modular was responsible for the subflooring in the entire home. The wood floors on the first floor began to squeak after about 4-5 years. Westchester Modular was called in to make repairs. They came and added 2 columns and sistered some of the beams in the area of the squeaking. It did not solve the problem, and the squeaking has spread to the whole first floor. As I am writing this, we have a company in our basement sistering the beams to hopefully correct some of the squeaking. This is a major expense as well as a major inconvenience. All of the insulation has to be taken down as well as the in-floor heating elements and re-installed after the work is done. Our outdoor lighting fixtures by our garage were hung on the siding, not into the house itself. They were actually drooping. Good thing my husband was able to redo several of their mistakes. We have had to hire outside companies for the jobs my husband could not tackle. These are just 3 of the major headaches we have had to deal with. Cecil has reached out to me and promised that he is more than willing to work with us on any issues we still have. I am also willing to work with him as well. Don't get me wrong...we love our home and always get complimented on our house on the hill. All our problems are in the past and we are happy to be living in the North Country.

I wish I never met Cecil the weasel! This pathetic excuse for a business owner told me a different…read morelie every time we spoke! I had to baby sit the entire project, even demand the stop at certain time because of mistakes and corners cut. I had to force them to reschedule pouring the concrete slab because there was frost and frozen dirt. They rented a portable radiant heat system to warm up the ground and it sunk 2-3 feet in the corners! Can you image what that would have done to my concrete radiant slab? I was told they do this on jobs all the time...Great! We caught them trying to charge us for the diesel used for the portable heater. I am NOT paying for your mistakes. My wife also caught them trying to charge us for 4 toilets, we have 2 bathrooms. We had to go through the bills with a fine tooth comb, they had tons of items from other projects on our bill. The project finished 6 months after we were told it would be finished. Since completion, I have had to hire other companies to fix everything that is going wrong. Gas stove incorrectly installed and set off carbon monoxide detectors on our first night in the house. I had to have an exterior door completely reinstalled because they left gaps in the wall and covered it with trim. Less than 6 months in and the dry wall seams are starting to show. The list goes on and on and I don't have enough room to list it all. I was told by most of the workers that they were not getting paid for work they had done months ago. I am not sure how they are still in business. Saratoga would be a better place with Cecil the weasel behind bars! Complete crook with no concern for his clients. Once her gets his checks from the bank you will NEVER see him on site again...

Using a lift crane to decorate their customers home they completely blocked the street for hours and yelled at the residents to "go around the block" and at one point even gave the middle finger to two of us. Rather than say "sorry for the inconvenience and would you mind going around temporarily", they chose to be extremely rude. I find this unacceptable for a company that touts themselves as "local".

Our goal was to restore it to its original liveability as a single family home. Teakwood has a reputation as expensive and our initial bid, to do everything on a wish list, was pretty high. But they worked with us and a revised bid was significantly lower and we went with them. This bid entailed a clear-eyed distinction between "need to" and "nice to" improvements so we ended up with a price we were happy with. The quality of the work, both by Teakwood carpenters and their subs, is superb. Teakwood has a philosophy of assigning a master carpenter to oversee the job and our guy, Dan Decenzo, could not be better. Josh, the guy who did a number of built-ins, is a master of his craft and we now have benches and bookcases that look like they have been there 130 years like the rest of the structure. We were offered a 1 year satisfaction guarantee and I'm prompted to write because, well over 1 year after the fact, Dan has been back recently to fix a couple minor things. Bottom line, we are really happy with Teakwood and would definitely recommend you bid out your project to them.

The women I spoke to at their office sounded flabbergasted when I shared that information with them. One of them looked on his desk on two separate occasions and found nothing! Make a new appointment and start over! Ignoring me is not going to make either of us happy. If you don't want to do it, just tell me, that is so much easier to handle. Years prior, as a tenant, I asked the workers of RICH ALUMINUM and SIDING if I should remove the pictures from my walls while they were replacing siding and windows. There did not seem to be any oversight by Rich Home Exteriors to keep track of the work and quality of work being done. Many of the windows that were being wrapped were improperly done and had to be redone, as well as an exterior door and some trim along the garage. We had asked them to remove some existing solid wood soffits along the garage eaves and install ventilation. Initially they simply covered over the existing wood, which did not allow for ventilation. It took a few attempts to get it properly ventilated. The threshold on our new front door was very unstable and flexed every time it was stepped on. We had to mention these issues a number of times before they were remedied. We had a number of other minor issues as well. We chose Rich Home Exteriors because of the positive reviews we had read online. However, our experience was very different from what we had read. We decided to put up an honest review of what our experience was like. It was a very stressful situation for us. We had to continually monitor the work that was being done ourselves.

However, he was not licensed and insured so I wouldn't use him. Called Rich's, who is licensed and insured, and they came by to look at it. There assessment was that the door was fine (and it was), and the rotted wood was just a kick plate. All flashing and seal around the door was fine. Just a couple of dollars to replace the kick plate and all is fine. Plan on using them for some additional repairs. I would highly recommend them.
