Gem of a store in Ashland, pun intended. They have an excellent collection of semi-precious stones and jewelry at reasonable prices, and we shopped to our hearts content, buying a fossil pendant for my wife, and one for her mother. The kids (and I) enjoyed digging through the (free) rock and mineral box. Service from Joseph, one of the most knowledgeable salespeople I've ever encountered, was excellent. This place is so hidden and precious. I'm in love with this set up they have here in Ashland. It's quiet and relaxing. I bought two stones and a wand. Not in any city on the entire west coast have i found a gem, mineral, and fossil shop with such a diverse selection of beauties. The owners, Todd and Amanda Higgins, were very welcoming and i was genuinely surprised at the variety, sheer volume and affordability of the minerals they carry. As a jeweler, i was happy to find out that aside from rough minerals to work with, they've got a stock of faceted gems and cabochons too! I would have written a wonderful review previous to receiving my damaged purchase. I was so delighted to find this store as I had read so many positive things before I left Massachusetts. I made a point of finding the store on my return from Shasta. I purchased a singing bowl I had been looking for. The owner assured me it would arrive undamaged, the way it was packed was fine. I was hesitant. I waited for the bowl to arrive and was so excited to find it delivered today. Upon opening it I realized it was broken before removing it from the box. The box was undamaged, the Styrofoam packing was not damaged. The striker had gone through the bowl making a whole the size of a softball. I called the owner of the store immediately...not only would he not take any responsibility he was condescending! He placed blame on the postal service. The box was not damaged!!!! He should not have packed the striker in the bowl. The group I was with spent a great deal of money there. What a mistake....He is not the kind, gentle man he appears to be in the store! read more

I visited this store about a year ago when the name was "Mystic Trade Co." I was surprised to see a new name on the store but thrilled to find out that the name was the only thing that changed. Still beautiful crystals, rocks, fossils, and unique jewelry, all beautifully displayed. Still owner-operated by the same family, which is very important to me because I'm not an expert by any means and appreciated the great customer service. The prices range from items for a few dollars up to pieces worth thousands. I will go back every time I visit Ashland. read more
