Horribly horribly run office. Went in with my wife just to get a simple referral that her specialists wanted but we needed hilltop to do it. Had an appointment, sat in the lobby for 30 minutes, then sat in our 'room' for just shy of an hour. Doctor finally came in and said they "forgot" about us. A few weeks go by, wife needs to go in again to get a referral to the next place we have to go in the chain of specialists, appointment made, wide sits in the waiting room for 1hr and 40 minutes over the appointment time. All to get a referral both times. Quite literally needed to speak to a doctor for less than 30 seconds on both occasions. What a joke of an office, wow. read more

My daughter was having ear pain and a slight fever so I wanted her to be seen, was told it would be 2 hours before we were seen and it would be better to come back later around 130pm (3hrs later) but I stayed. Then because my daughter had a temp of 100.1 the provider said we were not allowed to wait inside. Was told she would need a Covid test and flu test before being seen.. Covid test was supposedly positive so we were then turned away. Did 2 Covid tests at home and both were negative! Went to ER and my daughter had a ruptured ear drum! Thank god for ERs because urgent cares in this town are horrible! To top it off another pt got a $300 bill because they did not tell her that her insurance was out of network! Horrible service! Absolutely terrible experience at Hilltop Medical Clinic. I had an appointment and still waited over 3 to 3.5 hours to be seen. After all that waiting, I received zero help for my illness--no meaningful evaluation, no solution, nothing. Completely disorganized, no respect for patients' time, and an absolute waste of a day. I went in to get stitches removed got seen by the nurse who was nice then when the doctor saw me he said he he wouldn't pull the stitches after two other doctors told me the stitches were able to come out. And when I told him this, he said well you should go see them then. And after I said, I still want the stitches out he said he would only do it one way or not do it at all and when I said I'd rather them just get taken out he became rude and when we said he was being rude he got even more aggressive so as he left, he said I hope the door hit you on the ass on your way out. I can't believe people have bad things to say about them. Every time I've come(at least once a year the last 7 years), the staff are so nice. There may be a wait but that's in all of Redding. Obviously we have healthcare shortages. The owner is amazing. I've been 2 times in a few years and didn't have the full payment and he waived everything. He said heathcare workers have to take care of one another. How could anyone not be happy with this place. And If you're upset about them not taking your insurance, blame the insurance company who doesn't want to pay them back on time or at all. They're also the only ones open 7 days a week, so that's a plus too! read more

Back in the 80's this establishment was the best.....moving forward over the years and many visits over the years, the clinic suffered with it's office manager Loretta who was one of the nurses when we first started using Hilltop, who I hope is no longer there. Made an appointment on-line to speed up the process like requested. They called me back that the doctor would not see me and to go to the ER. It was for an infection from a bug bite. I went to another urgent care, which caused me to pay $100 since they don't use my insurance. They gave me antibiotics and we are good now. The staff at Hilltop were also so disappointing to deal with. It is unfortunate that people just do not know how to be human. read more

The absolute rudest reception and billing staff I have ever encountered. I love the docs I saw all three times but the staff are unbelievable! The only place I have ever called where staff hung up on me twice! The first time was pretty comical. I was explaining why my husband needed to be seen and she said the doctor would not see him for that. It was a very simple thing and I thought she misunderstood me, so I was explaining why what he needed could be handled in Urgent Care. She interrupted me and said "Stop yelling at me! Sometimes this place is a hit but I'd say 9/10 times they're awful. They pick and choose who they want to see. They screen online and if it's not something they want to deal with, they'll call you and tell you to go somewhere else. As someone with small kids it's frustrating to be told the provider won't see anyone under 17 and I just need to take them to emergency. Then when they do decide they can see you, expect to be there for two hours or more. The doctors are always nice but some of the office staff could use an attitude adjustment. It's also ridiculous that they make you Covid test on your dime before they'll see you if you have any similar symptoms. If you can help it, I'd go somewhere else. read more

My daughter and I went in to be seen, filled out paperwork, gave all insurance info & ID, and waited forever just for them to call me up to finally say, you will have to get a Covid test before you are seen and we don't do Covid tests so you will need to go find a place that tests for it and then you can come back and we will do a flu test before they can take you back. Never have I ever been to a clinic that basically turns you away instead of take you in. Isn't that why they make walk in clinics...to take you in and help you! Very disappointed and I wouldn't recommend anyone going here if you need to be seen for a sickness. read more

Second opinion visit, Dr Swanson listened, responded to more than one issue! It was such a pleasant experience. He gets 5 stars but 10 is for doing his fiduciary duties, doing what doctors used to do. He even saw a pre cancerous spot while just talking that my hand doctor never addressed. I used to love this walk-in clinic until today. I took my son in because he was sick and everything went away except the cough. Same thing happened to me last year and I went to this clinic got some antibiotics had a fantastic conversation with my MD... a Mercy Hospital advisor/helper... and off I went. My son and I waited for TWO hours in our car because of his cough. Finally the MD calls gets a talley of his health. Refused to see him because the policy states that they can not see a patient with a cough without a COVID test. It wasn't that way last year when COVID was worse not that I am a believer anyway. What makes me mad really is that the front desk ladies easily could have told me policy instead of telling of just having me wait. I told them what they could do with themselves and went to our local pediatrician same day! He costs more but I have the antibiotics to cure my son instead of the run around at this clinic! read more

This place can get very busy, and the wait can be long! Register online & the staff will call you and give you a good time to come in to decrease your wait time. I've been here multiple times over the years, and so has my family. I've had more good experiences here than bad. Overall, the staff is very helpful, and the doctors are considerate and thorough in their care (Dr Jorde & Dr Swanson are 5 Star*). I prefer to go here, than to my primary care doctor, or anywhere else for that matter. Plus, I know I can always be seen. I always recommend hilltop clinic!! read more

I had a tele-health visit at Hilltop Medical Clinic in Redding - All the staff I interacted with from the office gals Sheridan, Katie, and Adrienne treated me as a person not a number. They were all kind, courteous, caring and professional. The nurse practitioner Sue Waite was caring, patient, genuine and very knowledgeable. This clinic is super- I only reason I gave it 4 stars is that during peak cold & flu season they are heavily booked, limiting the exposure to their staff and so "walking in" isn't an option. Remember to book online starting at 7am daily, online booking may be filled by 2-3pm. read more

My Husband was seen here September 10th 2022 for a skin infection in the orbit of his eye. He had been seen at Mercy Medical the day prior and not gotten the best care or his condition very carefully explained. We went to Hilltop for a second opinion. He registered online in the morning around 10 am, we headed into the clinic around 1pm to be seen. The clinic was swamped. They had been busy all day and we had to wait, they were very apologetic, they had called in all the staff they good and most of the staff were incredibly friendly even though it was a very busy Saturday. They let me wait with him in the lobby which was nice since his eye was involved he could really drive himself. He got called back at around 4:00pm into the exam room. I didn't catch the Medical Assistants name but she was nice and professional and kind. Dr Swanson was wonderful, I have been in the Redding area my entire life and he was by far the best urgent care doctor I have ever met. He was thorough in his exam, and he took his time to answer all our questions as well as come up with a treatment plan to address my husbands medical needs. It was so incredibly busy and he didn't make us feel rushed or dismissed and after the last few days that was so appreciated. The LVN, I believe her coworkers were calling her "Row" was also very professional and kind and by the time she was helping my husband it was after closing time and she was still very nice even after what looked to be a long day. So yes, we waited a long time. We were in the building from 1:30-5:15pm. It was the only urgent care open on a Saturday, what else could we expect? The staff was awesome, the building was fine, seemed clean. Cost was fair as far as medical goes for this area. I usually avoid urgent cares in the area due to bad experiences but after this experience I could see myself giving Hilltop Medical another shot if my family ever needs care and our primary doctor isn't available. read more

Staying town from the Bay Area. Came in with a abccess of some kind next to my ear. I don't know I guess they don't accept Medi-Cal, so now I am going to have to wait a day. Or go to the hospital. I couldn't get an appointment with my primary physician so I opted for an appointment with Hilltop. I had a telephone interview with Dr. Swanson who became my primary there. It led to a face to face appointment when things were not getting better. Dr. S. prescribed for me. The best part is that he has contacted me two times since and is concerned that the congestion has been much better but hasn't gone away. His assistant is a very competent girl who is very friendly and caring. Hilltop has always been my emergency home and they have always been there for my family. read more

Dr. Touched my penis. I do not recomment this place at all. Went in for a physical for work. Receptionists were overwhelmed and kind of snappy. I can forgive that, because bad days happen. They seemed like sweet ladies. But the actually physical was awful. I don't remember the Dr's name. It was Dr. Gary or Dr. Greg, or Dr. Gray. Something like that. But he resembled Colonel Sanders. I've had plenty of physicals before this, and none were as weird as this. I dropped my pants for the Dr. and dropped my boxers enough for him to get where he needed to. I've had physicals before, and you don't need to be completely bare assed. He told me to drop the boxers more, so I did. I then moved my penis to the side with my hand so he could apply pressure where he needed to without my schlong in the way. He told me to uncover my penis, which is totally not necessary during a physical. I let it go, thinking this guy is weird, but whatever. After hanging my dong free, he grabbed it and moved it back to the exact place I had it when he told me to let it go... At this point, I felt like he just wanted me to let it go so he could grab it himself. But what do I know? I'm not a Dr. He gave it a couple gentle tugs and moved it around a bit, then it was back to business as usual. Turn and Cough. Never in my life has a Dr. touched my penis for a physical. It can all be done without seeing or grabbing the wang. Most Dr's will maybe brush up against it in the process, but that's it. Not this guy. He wanted to have his cake and flop it around too. Don't take your kids here, and if you do, watch out for the Dr that looks like Colonel Sanders. That fool will try and Jerk their chicken. And he didn't even buy me a drink. read more

The staff, from the reception desk to the back office, all seem miserable, unhappy with their jobs, and dread each patient that walks in. If I could give zero stars I would. I registered online and shortly after receiving a call asking me to come down now and they would get me in. I showed up, they checked me in really fast and I sat down and waited. 45 minutes later I start to notice several people getting called back that checked in after me. I waited another 15 minutes, saw a few more people get called back and then decided to ask the receptionist. She (in a very snotty tone) said they had several sports physicals they were doing first because those are only 10 minutes. I had been there an hour already and she said it would be another 30 Minutes. She was lying because 3 of the people called back were adults. No kids. If you have an issue with your systems don't lie about it. Simply apologize and say we made a mistake. You will be called next. NEVER GOING BACK TO THIS CLINIC read more

I used this facility on 6/2/21. This is a very difficult comment for me to make... but this facility is FILTHY. I sat in the waiting room for approximately one hour. I sat on the far left side. I could not help but notice the lack of cleaning in the place, it was abhorrent. I could see that the areas under the chairs and along the walls had so much dirt/dust I could literally have written "WASH ME" in the dust and it would be very legible from fifteen feet away across the room. I doubt the chairs and the areas along the wall have been dust mopped or mopped in WEEKS. It was very oft putting. I was then in Exam room 5 for approximately 45 mins. As I sat on the exam table I could look at the sink and see the same dirt/dust problem. Also, there was a small ledge if you will of the top of the counter going around the counter that was also very very dusty/dirty. SHAME. IF they have a cleaning crew they should summarily be fired. IF they don't they're not cleaning the place themselves or are doing an egregious job and should be fired or trained. I'd be embarrassed if I worked in such filthy conditions ... even if it was an "auto repair shop"... never-mind a medical center. I now wished I'd taken photos to show the filth. In positive news, the staff was very professional, friendly, etc. so, kudos on that aspect. I was not charged for my visit and the doctor (I did not catch his name) probably only spent a literal 60 seconds in the room with me. He told me that you (he) didn't have the resources to further evaluate me. FINE, thanks, but should it really have taken 2 1/2 hours to be told that? Shouldn't the triage have known that? In any event, he quickly escorted me out (no problem), but I felt I could have been told that 2 1/2 hours earlier. Regardless of my treatment, I meant to talk to someone before I left concerning the very apparent filthy condition of the waiting room and exam rooms I was in. They really need to take this constructive criticism SERIOUSLY... I do. I tried to post this on their website via a 'comment' but nothing would let me post the message. I gave up. Horrible incompetent staff. I tried registering online to do a Telemedicine they never started my paperwork never called me for over an hour until I came in to get them started. Just for me to wait an hour for their rude medical assistant to come out to the car to take my son's temperature and then lie about it saying he had a temperature of 104 lol which was a lie because I gave him Tylenol she then told me to go somewhere else as her doctor would not see him. What kind of urgent care turns sick patients away?!? I hope that MA gets fired as I've never dealt with a more rude individual who's supposed to be helping not turning people away! I'd still be waiting..hours later. I came in an hour after my registration/call and asked if I could come in to wait for my call. Yes, what is your name (3 times). Oh your chart isn't pulled yet. Just think if I was just waiting on that call! Hear 2 hour wait. Hear that the people that came in have been waiting all day and will be seen first! Is there a point to registering as recommended and as our only choice. There's paper forms to register also if you didn't online.. only I heard a lady say as she was instructed to fill out the form tell them that she already did online! They didn't stop her.
