It tells a story of the towns mixed raced heritage and a family lineage of it. If you read the picture I posted it tells the story of white husband and black wife and basically it's their families burial plot. It's well kept. She took care of requesting the military flag presentation service, catering arrangements, flower arrangements, ordering death certificates, cremation arrangements, and a whole list of other items. We decided to use a large photo instead of displaying an urn during the service, and Becca was able to locate and let us borrow the perfect picture stand. It was really nice to know that someone else was thinking of all the small details during a time of grief when it was difficult for my family to focus on event planning. Their website's online obituary (aka Everlasting Memorial) allows you to upload photos of your loved one that recently passed away. Those photos are then used to create a slide show that can be played during the funeral service. The slide show comes with somber default music, but you can also provide your own music specific to your loved one. My family received multiple compliments on the quality of the slide show. You can also request additional DVDs of the slide show (potential fee), and a custom sticker will be added to the face of the DVD with your loved one's picture on it. The facility is very clean and welcoming, and my family was very impressed with the services they provided. They are also very community-focused. Becca explained that if there was food leftover from the reception that the family didn't want to take home, then she would bring the leftovers to a nearby fire station. If there were any flowers that the family didn't take home, then they would bring the flowers to a nearby hospice or hospital to brighten their day. I would definitely recommend using Rolling Oaks, and specifically recommend working with Becca.

The presentation of my loved ones was less than stellar and when I brought it to the funeral directors attention she really showed little to no concern. I provided them with a photograph of which my mother looked nothing like on the morning of her viewing. They like to talk about their care center where someone who knows nothing about your loved one dresses them to look like they bought their suit at a thrift shop and doesn't even bother to style their hair but rather make them look like Fantastic Sam was working that day. They also like the phrase, "did you make the funeral director aware of your concerns." On two of the hardest days of my life I shouldn't have to tell them how to do their job. Be aware there is little interest in doing what's right, just what's easiest.....for them.
