In 1986, we purchased four plots and a few years later purchased two additional plots in the Prayer I garden. When visiting today, we were appalled at the condition of this "perpetual care" cemetery. There is no grass and huge cracks in the soil in more than 50% of the cemetery, headstones are sinking and there is no water turned on to water plots and/or clean headstones. I looked at the advertising photos on their website and they are not at all representative of the current condition of the cemetery. The open air chapel no longer exists and hasn't for more than a year or two, although it is highlighted in several photos. There is currently no grass in the areas shown in the photos. I am investigating ways to report these ways to city and county personnel as well as in regulating agencies.

So if you are willing...do the footwork (ie, shop around for your own coffin/flowers/headstone/etc., rather than going the easy route by buying their expensive coffin/flowers/headstone/etc. The only thing I had in way of complaint was I had to follow-up twice on getting the memorial stone installed...we purchased it from an external vendor (saving $$$) but they have to install it.

My dad was raised Catholic but converted to Baptist when he married my mother. so when I buried him here I had to get permission from his family(weird) and some other authorities! It tells a story of the towns mixed raced heritage and a family lineage of it. If you read the picture I posted it tells the story of white husband and black wife and basically it's their families burial plot. It's well kept. The grounds are adequately maintained, though this has not always been true. There are two problems…read morewith the location which are worth considering when choosing this place for a final resting site. One is that it is surrounded by industrial buildings and tends to be too noisy for a quiet visitation. You will hear loud aircraft fly overhead due to the proximity to the Dallas Love Field airport. The other is that some burial plots are hard to access in a wheelchair, due to lack of sidewalks to drive over. You cannot visit a site here after a rain if you want to avoid walking or wheeling on wet or dirty grass. This is an ADA accommondation which needs to be addressed by the grounds people and supervisors. I would have ranked higher but for this last concern.
