We loved our stay here. The location was perfect to walking to great restaurants and catching ferries to other amazing places. Our room had a huge patio overlooking the harbor. The bed and pillows were very comfy. Cleaning service visited daily. Our room was clean and had ample space for our luggage. The shower was super hot. We loved the staff. I'm not sure I have the name right, but it might be Yoso, he was the main desk person - he was amazing. So welcoming. He gave great tips on local places. We have such mixed feelings on this hotel. We stayed for four nights. The hotel itself is very nice - clean, modern and beautifully appointed. The rooms are also very modern, well appointed, well maintained and spacious. Then, there is the location. It couldn't be more perfect, with great nightlife and the cruise ship harbor RIGHT THERE. And the views! The views of the harbor are spectacular! The staff at the hotel is so polite, anxious to please and cheerful. You like them instantly. The problem is that none of them communicate very well in English, (surprising, given that this is an English speaking country), and they are just not very good at their jobs. We had requested an early check-in and, when we arrived, they noted that, told us our room was ready and "just needed inspection" and to have a seat. They would text us when the room was ready. Great news! We had not really expected that they could accommodate our request. Well, we sat for over 4 hours. We checked in, several times, but tried not to be pests. In the end, it turned out our room WAS ready, but the desk forgot to text us . . . giggle, giggle. Then, there was the completely incompetent concierge. We asked about dinner spots nearby. We were a short walk from the major harbor nightlife area . . . as we found out later . . . and he never told us that! We'd just arrived. How were we supposed to know? We asked about a restaurant we had seen as we entered the wharf. He didn't know about it, but told us he would make a reservation for us and to please let him know what we thought about it. When we arrived that evening, they were closed for a private event and had no record of a reservation. He clearly never called. We often enjoyed cocktails or beverages in the beautiful hotel lobby. You had to point out what you wanted from a menu . . . and forget about extra requests like "a lime" . . . because the very pleasant cocktail staff did not understand what you were asking for and had no idea about normal cocktails. Having made these observations, I have to say that we had a wonderful stay and were pleased with our hotel choice. You just have to have the right expectations. And, the "Opera in the Lobby" was a really nice touch! read more

I selected this property primarily for its convenient location in th e Central Business District. We requested a room on the highest floor to ensure a quiet environment without any noise from above. Although the room 834 provided only a partial harbor view, we preferred this side over the harbor view to avoid facing the cruise ship directly. The check-in process was smooth and efficient. We arrived before 3 pm and the front desk staff kindly accommodated our request for an early check-in. Our room was modern, clean, and comfortable, though slightly compact. A friend traveling with us got #830, which was marginally larger than ours. It's interesting as I'm a Hilton gold member while my friend isn't but ended up getting a complimentary upgrade. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom featuring both a rainfall shower and a spacious bathtub. We had breakfast at FISH restaurant on Level 1. The dining area offered beautiful harbor views, and the buffet selection was impressive especially fresh fruit (including golden kiwis), smoked salmon, pastrami, and an excellent variety of bread and pastries. Overall, our stay was relaxing and enjoyable, aside from some rooftop noise around 5 am on the first night. When we reserved the room, the Hilton website said the pool would be closed for maintenance until 31 Oct. However it was still closed when we arrived first week of Nov. The pool almost like an infinity one, is one of the reasons I chose this hotel. It's unfortunate that we didn't get to enjoy it. read more

Beautiful property. The public spaces were decorated tastefully and open air ability really helped enjoy the weather. Fish served breakfast which was nice however the service was hit and miss. Requests for refills had to be done multiple times regardless of how busy there were. The food was good, nothing spectacular. Only did the breakfast buffet. There wasn't any variation on the buffet so, if you want different stuff everyday may want to dine out. The bar area on the first floor I popped in for a quick espresso and was easy and quick. The room was amazing. I was facing the north side which I'd almost prefer. The harbor side was obstructed anytime a cruise ship was there. Thursday morning for example the breakfast are was a bit darker as the ship blocked the sun. Be cautious of this if selecting a room on that side. The room was more spacious than anticipated and I would have loved to test out that tub. lol the shower was interesting, tried the rain showe head on the ceiling and they need to clean/unclog it as some nozzles weren't working or were spraying all different ways. Similar with the hand held shower head, the gaskets to keep in place need to be reviewed as it would slide down during the shower. Other item is the bathroom mirror. From the looks of it, there is or should be a light feature to help see. Sadly this room did not have that feature turned on, which means only the overhead light and that wasn't sufficient. If you are someone who puts on makeup, this room would not work. Other thank that Angky who was there upon my arrival was wonderful along with the rest of the staff. read more

The Hilton is located in a prime location, making for some spectacular views. When we checked into the hotel at midnight, it was very quick. The room was relatively small considering the cost be paid for it. When booking we booked for three people and nowhere at the time did it say the third bed would be a rollaway. Upon coming into our room, it was only two sleeping spots, and then a third bed was rolled into the room and then we didn't have much space at all. Besides the views I have stayed in Holiday Inns better than this hotel. I've given a choice I would've picked the Park Hyatt instead. Also note this hotel is a considerable walk from anything except a handful of very quiet restaurants on the other side of the peer. Another annoying thing is that around 6 am every day, all the ferries and ships that which are moving anywhere, feel the need to blow their fog horn for a significant amount of time waking you up. No, I only gave it a three star because of the location and views. read more

This hotel is the cream of the crop, from the moment I stepped in I was treated so well. I arrived on a long flight, tired and ready for a shower/nap. They made sure to get me to my room and even had a welcome snack and drinks in the room. The room was beautiful, large balcony facing the harbor. Well stocked bar with lots of amenities. The coffee her is amazing... yum yum! Really love my adorable stuffed kiwi friend! The bed was ridiculously comfortable, the first night I though it was just because I was so tired but no it's really one of the best beds I have ever slept in. Great location! At the end of the pier next to ferries and great access to other transportation needs. Plenty of restaurants and shop. We were upgraded to a harbor view which was great. For diamond members -unfortunately no executive lounge. We were given two vouchers per night for their Bellini Bar locates on the ground floor. There's a separate menu for those vouchers. Complimentary buffet breakfast at fish with the option of a free add on of eggs any style. No barista coffee included it comes at an additional cost. The concierge service was fantastic! They were so helpful. They made several calls for tours for us and were able to come up with solutions for us when tours were booked. The room was nice and clean no complaints there. Had an overnight in Auckland for a trip to Wellington from Hawaii. This Hilton is about a 25-35 minute taxi ride from Airport, taxi was $117.00NZD. Guest services were very polite at 11:30pm, hotel room was phenomenal with a nice minibar. Lanai was very nice, mine was shared with 3 rooms but was huge with tables for an outdoor seating area. Breakfast was great, had the continental breakfast and there was plenty of options. Would recommend staying here if you have an overnight and late flight the next day. Concierge maintained our luggage after checkout until 3:00pm for a flight at 5:30pm. Easily walkable to tourist areas of Auckland. Beautiful views of the harbor. read more

Thank you for the free upgrade to the ocean front view! We spent two days here on our 3 week honeymoon. The service was fantastic, we were surprised with free chocolate and drinks. Also got a table by the water for breakfast which was incredible! I would recommend getting the Hilton Aspire credit card because it gave got us Diamond Status which is one of the reasons why I think we got the upgraded room. Plus we were able to use points to stay here for free. The location was fantastic because it was only a 10 minute walk to the ferry terminal to Waiheke Island. Would definitely stay here again. Pretty much the top of the heap, only retraction it's at the end of the pier if your walking. Most startling is how freindly EVERYONE is here. From house keeping to door men, everyone makes a point to say hello. Bar staff is super nice and helpful but the wine pours are on the smaller side. Sometime you get nibbles sometimes not. The breakfast buffet is wonderful and the highlight, perhaps missed, is the conserves/preserves house made. Breakfast does not change so after two days, better to get coffee and take it on the road. read more

The Hilton Auckland is the best location for staying in the city. The ferry terminal is a four minute walk (Rangitoto Island, Waiheke Island, etc.) If you are traveling here, I would not book a car rental as parking is expensive and free parking is non-existent from what I saw. The bus station is a 20 minute walk to get to buses for far away tours. (Hobbiton, Rotura, etc.) We got to the hotel using the Super Shuttle and it was only $17 per person one way. We used Uber to get back to the airport The bed is the most comfortable and after a long day of travel it is worth every penny. The lobby/bar area is very inviting and you can walk right outside to stand at the end of the pier for amazing views. The lap pool is heated and is nice, but there is a maximum two people to swim comfortably. Plenty of dining options along the pier if you choose not to eat at Bellini (on-site restaurant). We had delicious drinks from Bellini, but did not eat. The hotel staff were the most pleasant and accommodating I have ever encountered. Five stars for location, comfort, amenities, and staff for sure! read more

You'll get a note in your room when you arrive that there is a cruise ship docked outside your room and that you should "keep your blinds shut when in the room." Arrived about 11pm after a long flight from Honolulu. Excellent staff provided us with a great room with a view of the harbor. I would give this a five if the bed was totally comfy. It was good but when you've stayed in a Westin bed you cannot give a high rating anywhere else:) The staff warned us that our view would be obstructed in the am because a large cruise ship was coming in. They were totally a curated plus the ship's rooms were a baseball throw away from our room. We actually could talk to the passengers and see them in there under clothes:). Fare warning, it wasn't pretty but it was pretty amusing. The concierge was very helpful and guides us to a great breakfast spot, see review of Shaky Isle, and helped us get our rental car situated. All in all, the Hilton is a nice place to land for the first few days you are in Aukland. Very well appointed, excellent showers and very clean. Great restaurant on premise as well. read more

So the view is very nice. The rooms are very nice. The location is convenient to everything and right next to the ferry dock which is needed to see most of the key attractions including the wineries which you should see. The hotel offers a lot of perks including a gym shower that you can use to shower if you arrive on an early red eye flight. The gym is also very nice for a workout and the pool is great for a quick swim. We had a few issues with things like the concierge treating us like a used car salesman and the bar not taking our drink vouchers. Mostly just little things that were fixed by a manager. While visiting New Zealand and participating in the World Masters Games, I stayed at the Hilton Auckland for 12 wonderful nights. The corner room we reserved provided exceptional views of Auckland Harbor over to Rangitoto Island as well as the downtown skyline. While a short walk down the pier to Quay Street, the hotel is in the heart of the city yet secluded enough to be quiet and away from street noise. The room was exceptionally clean and appeared as if it had been recently upgraded (e.g., new carpet, linens) and daily service kept it that way. The towels were soft which is indicative of a high end hotel keeping on top of their laundry service too. The corner room not only provided fantastic views of the morning sunrise, but of all activity in the harbor. During relaxing moments on the deck, we witnesses air shows, pontoon boats landing and taking off, countless ferries and on two occasions the arrival (and subsequent departure) of two cruise liners who dock adjacent to the hotel. Thankfully the Hilton staff provides ample warning of their arrival so to allow you the ability to close curtains and windows as needed so not to be disturbed or caught in any compromising situations. The staff was very attentive and friendly with greetings (often by name) arriving and departing each day. Overall the hotel was safe, quiet, clean, and with all the modern amenities. Even the hotel wifi seemed strong enough to run several devices without experiencing any connection issues or service delays during the 12 days even during peak usage times. The only reasons for not providing 5 stars to the Hilton Auckland are as follows: 1) My reservation was made for my arrival on 4/20 5 days ahead of my girlfriend's arrival. Upon my check in I reminded them of that fact so that her key would be at the front desk in the event I was not at the hotel upon her actual arrival. However, when she arrived, the front deck claimed no record of her stay. Fortunately, I was there and awake (at 6AM Auckland time) to run downstairs and greet her and straighten out the potentially awkward issue. 2) The main hotel restaurant, Fish, is available for meals throughout the day. The breakfast is not worth the $39 per day buffet ($29 with HH discount) with so many other options available locally to check out. 3) Another thing to look out for, the cabs/taxis. They will rob you blind so I suggest using a private car service as we did to and from the airport or Uber for daily excursions. For example, a 1 way Uber ride from the front of the hotel to Lloyd Elsmore Park which is about 20km away cost on average $30 on Uber while the cab arranged by the hotel concierge was $80. So using the service twice daily for the WMG proved to be the way to go. For your journey to the Auckland area, I highly recommend the Hilton Auckland. It is close walking distance to most restaurants with easy access to ferries and other transportation for tourist excursions. Booked this place since we wanted a couple nights after our 14 hour flight to rest and get use to our new environment. Well being right on the water and next to the ferry it was a great choice. Beautiful views and we were able to walk to the ferry for our day trip to the island of wine. In face, we never used our car for the two days we stayed here. Walked everywhere. Let's start and say that this is a beautiful property, stunning location and a real intention towards great service. If your benchmark of Hilton hotels is US mainland you will be in for a surprise as this is a polished and modern space right on the waterfront, perched on a pier. Stunning views from the restaurants and bars, and if you pay that little bit extra from your room also. Things the hotel does well - the breakfast is stunning, every selection of goodies you can imagine from seafood to cold cuts to hot plates to personally made waffles and eggs. The view is a million dollars over the harbor. The doormen and concierge are a real gem. The guys are understated, deeply approachable and able to secure you tables around the city with ease. They were a really welcome face to the hotel. We did not like the front desk. Our room was not ready until 2 hours after official checkin time. Lots of excuses but very little warmth from the counter staff. Another issue, we were given drinks vouchers (pretty much Happy Hour drinks) for the main bar, yet two of the three nights we stayed the only hotel bar was closed for private functions. In essence we stayed in a hotel that did not have a bar, unless you call the mini-bar a substitute. So mixed thoughts here. If management could address the lapses of guest-centric focus then this could be a five star property. read more

Everything about our experience here was just fabulous. We were able to leave our luggage a day early, to go spend some time on Waihike Island. Upon check in, our room was not quite ready, and they let us use the wifi and go up to the pool to relax. Our room was extraordinary, to say the least. Our Balcony wrapped around the side of the hotel, and could fit 50-60 people easily. It has beautiful lawn chairs for lying out, and had amazing views of the city. We had complimentary wine bottle and drink passes for the bar in our room. It was one of the most beautiful rooms I ever stayed in. The sliding glass doors opened up on 2 of the sides of the room, with beautiful curtains. We kept both completely open, so it felt like we were in an abyss overlooking the city. The bathrooms were large, with a separate tub and shower, with more than enough shampoos/lotions. Our bed was extremely comfortable, and were treated to chocolates before bedtime. The pool was very unique and overlooked part of the harbor. In terms of location, it really cannot be beat. You are a 5 minute walk from the main shops, from all of the resturuants on the water (the Viaduct), the ferries and museums. An absolute luxury to stay here and enjoy the elegance that it brings to the city. I was extremely impressed and pleased with my stay. read more

Don't let the price tag scare you. Having stayed at at many Hilton properties this, for me tops all of them. I recommend splurging and taking the upgrade to a harbor view room. I would recommend you get the staff on the phone at The Hilton to clarify what is required of you or to book online. We rang and booked a king room with a view for 2 nights. Paid in cash when we arrived which was discussed on the phone. Because we paid cash and not on a credit card we also had to pay $200 bond per day to cover any extras that may be used. (Not explained on the phone) but we paid. Once paid we were told the king was still available but not the one with a view. They then asked for ID for all that were staying there. Not everyone had ID so we were told we could not stay. These were all requirements that should have been explained when they took the booking on the phone. All money paid was refunded but we still wasted 2 hours travelling in Auckland heat not to mention the time spent packing and preparing for the trip. Very disappointing. read more

Typically when I travel I stay at a Starwood or Marriott property, however this time I stayed at the Hilton because there were no Starwood or Marriott properties here in Auckland. Thus hotel is very nice, and located on the water. The views are spectacular. When I first arrived (after traveling for 42 hours) I got in my room and I called home checking in with my family. After finishing my call, I paid attention to the floor and there was so much stuff on it it was ridiculous. I did call and asked for them to come clean it up and they did. After that, I showered and noticed that the water came out on the floor in the bathroom from the shower. The next morning when I showered and the same thing happened but this time I almost slipped. When I returned to my room (after walking around all day logging more than 17 miles) I decided to take a bath because I was too tired to be conscientiously enough to not slip from the water coming out of the shower. I turned the bath on and let it run however when I went back in the bathroom I realized once again there was water all over the floor as it splashed out. The water was splashing off of the stopper in the tub onto the tub, out onto the floor and of course I slipped and fell. I hurt my elbow no biggie (I hope) however I called downstairs they sent someone from housekeeping up with some towels and then the housekeeping manager came. She was very concerned and try to be helpful and informed me that they have had complaints about the shower but there's nothing they can do. It was truly a lame thing to say. She took a report however I just feel that more should've been done. What I'm not sure. The housekeeping manager did bring me some ice for my elbow and I must say the next day it's still tender but I'm OK. As I said I'm just not sure what else they could've done but I just feel that they should have. I'll be traveling to Auckland at least two or three times a year from the US however I'm not sure if this is where I will stay again. Disappointing. read more

We stayed here for 3 nights while our place was getting painted. Its a nice hotel but not the best value for Money. I have also stayed in some nicer (and worse) hiltons around the world.
