Overall, this is a great hotel. I enjoyed staying here during my vacation…read more Pros: My first impression was that the staff was very friendly. The room was clean. The television in the room was big, which is nice. Cons: The biggest con about this hotel is that the breakfast ends at 9:30 AM. The chairs inside were not very comfortable. Parking is under the hotel and is pretty safe. Although there was some construction, they did it during the day when most people are out. The best things about this hotel are: The balcony with a door that opens for fresh air. The quiet surroundings. The rooms are very clean. Each room has a 60 inch TV which is a lot nicer than the last time I visited. They do have a breakfast, but it ends at 9:30 a.m. which is a bit too early for me. I was hoping to get some coffee around 10:00 a.m. but they had cleaned it all up. Each room comes with a small refrigerator, safe, coffee maker, and closet. The shower is very nice but comes out of the wall at what feels like nine feet high. Not so nice for those on the short end, the water has to fall a long ways to get to us. I with the shower was lower. We did not experience much service, just at check in and check out. The AC was a wall unit, not central. You must turn in off at night since it is so loud. Opening the door is the only way to cool down the room. Overall, a nice place to stay.

After returning from our day out and accepting the ant problem was not getting better, we called to change rooms. After being told by the front desk person they would look into it and call us back in a few minutes, we waited over 30 minutes then walked to the front desk where we couldn't be ignored. To then wait another 30 minutes to get a new room, delay was due to something wrong with the "system". The manager Tina (who is very friendly, if not fully effective) said she would put some Marriott Bonvoy points in my account for the trouble - the least I would expect for moving us from a double to a single and making us wait over an hour at 9pm for this change due to a pest issue in their room. Now, 3+ weeks later and multiple calls to the hotel - I do not have any bonus points nor even a call back. As much as I'd like to say the staff makes up for the state of the property, which is what I wanted to say by the time I wrote this, there does not seem to be a desire from the team to make things right, here's my honest assessment from our experience there.

Made all guests feel appreciated and respected as we spent time by the pool. 5/5 stars on updates being made to give it that new and improved modernized feel; feels like a little oasis! 5/5 stars for location. It truly makes a difference when you can easily go off and explore other places nearby. Breweries, Fair, Beach, Short drive to Legoland. You name it! 5/5 ALWAYS COFFEE IN THE LOBBY. Amazing and a great start to your mornings. 5/5 for free laundry services for guests staying! This is AMAZING, but ends up in us washing our own pool towels and bath towels which can bring down the rating. 1/5 stars for not following policy of 14 and up for jacuzzi. They allow the jacuzzi to be packed with littles and parents but are strict about other issues aka music playing when multiple people bring out their speakers to play their own music and have a good time. 1/5 stars for the passive aggressive highlighting on notices that are slipped under hotel doors when there is a complaint or a concern. We want to enjoy a vacation, but instead have to worry about what not to do instead of relaxing freely. From how to dispose of dirty bath towels, trash, to no late check out, I feel like some policies need to be changed and revisited.

It's a great place to stay of you can be self sufficient after mid morning hours. I had a problem with my tv and the office sign said they were open till 11:00pm. I told them about the problem in the morning (there were two people there) and the guy offered to come and help me with it but I was on my way out. I just figured I would come back when I returned. Returned late afternoon and there was no one there. the doors were all open but no one at the desk or nearby. I checked all night and never saw anyone. Frustrating. I understand staffing shortages but why not stagger their shifts so there is coverage during the posted hours. Needless to say, I spent the entire trip unable to watch tv but it's the beach so no big deal I guess. The staff on the morning I did see them was very nice and courteous. My room was pretty clean with the exception of the bathroom. The baseboards were a little dirty and there was built up dirt in the corners. The floor tile in the shower was probably clean but looked dirty. Time to replace it. The water pressure was really good compared to some places I've stayed. I had my car which I could've easily done without and still been able to find food and entertainment. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby accessible by foot. There is an amazing rooftop patio with killer views! My friends and I spent a lot of time up there watching the sunset. Parking was in an underground garage and pretty pricey. When you get there, you don't see the parking if you don't know where to look but access the back of the building through the alleyway and the garage is right there. Not that many parking spaces but it's a small lodge so there was more than enough. Street parking was also available if you were lucky enough to find it. Pipes Cafe (just down the street by foot) was my go to for breakfast but there were also lots of options for lunch and dinner. I'd stay here again.

Ooh la la - felt like a mini getaway right in Del Mar!…read more I've been here a few times when I didn't want to drive too far and wanted a fancy schmancy hangout! PROS: - Perfect location day or night - quick walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants - Popular spot for bougie food or European style gelato and surprisingly even Mexican eats. - Sunsets are my weakness, but here it's even more special especially from the lobby - it's unreal and literally GLOWS! - Love coming during the evening when you have no major plans and this spot was lively! - Great for people-watching so grab a drink and enjoy the show! CHEERS! - Living room bar had live music and great vibes! Feel free to dance it off as well. - Staff and valet team were friendly and on point. - Restrooms were well-maintained and clean. - Decor is dreamy, relaxing, and very Euro-chic! CONS: - Ocean view is hit or miss depending on where you're situated. If you have a balcony you'll have the full effect. - Drinks are PRICEY (go figure!) but hey worth it-sh LOL - Gets crowded and and maybe rowdy. Some days seem chill and others not so chill. So if loud noise is not your jam on busy nights, you may have to pass. OVERALL: 4 stars for great vibes and just a beautiful spot!
