This hotel is pretty stylish. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Dayton. I didn't give higher stars because, while I loved the room layout and overall comfort, it needed some attention. I was greeted by a big dead bug just inside the door, that wasn't a pleasant welcoming party. The toilet seat was loose and moved around when you sat on it, something I would assume housekeeping should notice when cleaning it - I certainly noticed it before I even sat down. The leather (vinyl?) couch was also dirty. We tend to wipe down our rooms and were surprised at the amount of dirt on the dark colored (brownish) couch - so it seems they do not wipe them off too often. I also hoped that being a lifetime platinum elite I would have gotten a room where I could overlook the ballpark. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Nevertheless, this hotel is a gem in the Gem City, and with a little more attention to the cleaning details can easily be 4 or 5 stars!

The food is quite good, better than expected in the bar. Breakfast - They offer hot food (not powdered eggs). Waffle station. Biscuits.and gravy. Veggie options for those.desiring it. Happy hour - From 1730 to 1900 they provide free food (nachos, hot dogs, pasta) and 3 free drinks. Choices are limited, but....free! Rooms - large and comfortable. The bed in mynroom was a new, comfy king with 5 ample pillows. The bathroom has a separate toilet and sink.divided by a door. The shower is large with glass doors and the shower heading fantastic. No tub. They have a pool and hot tub indoors. Parking is easy but the lot is shared with Red Lobster. Rewards - Drury is privately owned and does not use Bonvoy, Hilton, etc. They have their own points. Sign up is easy via email and the receptionist did it for me in 30 seconds. Stayed September 4-9 and really can't ask for more…read more.. A covered area to unload your vehicle and then plenty of parking. Front staff and housekeeping are very polite and easy to interact with. The daily morning breakfast items were much more than expected. There were daily scrambled eggs and some type of sausage patties/breakfast meat, English muffins, bagels. A couple of mornings, biscuits and gravy were available. Daily offerings included cereal and yogurts, along with oatmeal and almost a dozen toppings. There was also fruit, juice, several coffees, and teas. Less that 100 yards away are several places for lunch/dinner. From approximately 5 to 10 PM there was a full bar (wine too) with many drink specials, and happy hour was 5-7PM. And the bartender, Melanie, was glad to make a recommendation or a favorite libation too.

We have stayed at a good number of Springhill hotels and this one is one of the lowest rating I've…read moreever given to, here is why: Interior: standard Springhill decor, simple, and clean. Breakfast: they have all the standard items, and do get very crowded on certain days and time. Downstairs bar: rarely open, very inconvenient Front desk staff: friendly, professional and efficient Housekeeping: horrible, except the Sunday crew. We stayed here from Saturday- Tuesday July 5-9, on the 5th floor, the only day we received adequate housekeeping service was on Sunday, all the other days we came back to the hotel room, after 5pm, either the room was not cleaned OR the floor was not vacuumed , beds were covered up without underneath sheets were straighten or clean at all. See pictures, that's the bed after it was supposed to be made. I believe the hotel management do have all the necessary information to figure out who needs to be retrained on their job duties. Room: spacious, but...the air conditioning was super loud, even after we lowered it to the lowest level, it is still loud. Had to turn it off at times to get some rest . Body wash run out after 1 day staying, and I guess the hotel probably run out of the wall mount bottles so they gave us 2 small travel size bottles . No body lotion, had to ask for it. Amenities: there is a gym and pool on the first floor, small but good enough Location: convenient, next to shopping centers, restaurants and movie theater. Parking was easy. Next time when I am in the area, not sure if I will stay here, to risk for another unpleasant stay. Do recommend management emphasize on housekeeping qualities, since it is a crucial element when running a hotel.

The staff are all very professional and courteous from the check-in counter to the restaurant/bar. The Executive Lounge on the 6th floor also always has a very pleasant and attentive host/hostess. Speaking of the lounge, during cocktail hour they serve a decent selection of drinks and also have a decent spread of appetizers/bites. In the mornings, the lounge had tour standard breakfast selections of cereals, breads/pastries, eggs, sausage or bacon. It gets the job done. The main bar/restaurant has tasty food and drink options as well. As for the rooms, Ive stayed at the balcony rooms facing the courtyard and the other side facing the parking lot and both views are great. The rooms are very clean and are roomy enough with great wifi and a work desk so I can get my work done in the room if I need to. The location is nice being next to Carillon Historic Park and the University of Dayton; along the waterfront which is ideal to take a morning/evening stroll or run. Also, less than a 10 min drive to Downtown/Oregon District too.

The hotel has indoor and outdoor pools (I did take a look and I think that they're actually connected, but didn't check to be certain). The gym is well equipped with a variety of machines and some freeweights. The parking lot is huge, and surprisingly complimentary. Considering the hotel isn't really near anything, you'll likely have a car while you're staying here. The rooms have incredibly comfortable beds and furniture, but the AC units are...well, they're not quiet, but they're not necessarily noisy either. Otherwise the rooms were incredibly quiet. I was surprised that my room had a balcony I could step out on as well. Overall, I'd definitely stay here again.

I was grateful that the hotel has quiet hours posted on the wall when the elevator doors open. Thankfully it was adhered to cos in a previous hotel I was at, the kids were allowed to run up and down the halls and carry on loudly without any adult supervision. My room was spacious, clean, but the HVAC was loud and had to be turned up quite high to get the room warm. Then it would become too hot and just turning it down one degree quickly cooled it off too much. It was a neverending dance. I didn't have time for breakfast cos had to get on the road early, but it was crowded and loud with all the kids and their parents. BTW, there's a wonderful Polish/Lithuanian restaurant called Amber Rose about 12 mins from the hotel that's excellent. Seriously delicious food. Definitely worth checking out! Surprisingly, it is a lot like Hilton Garden Inn (which I like), just rebranded. The room was simple, spartan, with wood (tile) floors, no carpet. Not a fan of the toiletries mounted in the shower (big plastic bottles are difficult to dispense). Pool, workout room, foosball table in lobby, breakfast included, parking lot. Lots of guests and I see why.

First of all, the toilet didn't flush correctly, it ran continuously. Secondly, the exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work. After only two people showering, the entire room/walls were wet from the steam. It was crazy. Then, the smoke detector was chirping because it needed a battery change. Luckily this issue was resolved before it was time to go to sleep. Finally, and maybe I'm asking too much with this last complaint, but most hotels recently have a full size/newer hair dryer. This one was the super old school teeny tiny dryer that couldn't even dry my thin hair. It shouldn't cost too much to upgrade these and it would be much appreciated. Positives: The breakfast was great and the staff was friendly! Oh yeah- I agree with the review below about the pool being WAY over chlorinated. It was like swimming in Salt Water!
