This Hilton Garden Inn has an open and inviting entry. The staff was very friendly, and service was quick. The room was just passable. It looked clean and bright with nice pictures on the walls, which was a positive. There was a small coffee area, but it only had decaf coffee. The entry and bathroom had some type of vinyl flooring, but the rest was the horrid carpet you see in almost every hotel. The bathroom was small, and there was some type of liquid drip on the door. The water was hard to turn on in the shower to the point that we almost called for maintenance. Then we couldn't get it to stop dripping when we shut it off. We also ran out of hot water while showering. One of the beds had a loose piece that was flopping underneath. The bed pillows were terrible - entirely too soft and not enough filling. That made for a rough night of sleeping. Breakfast is $10 extra. We just went to one of the many nearby restaurants. The hotel serves dinner too in the same eating area as breakfast but, again, we didn't eat there. IMHO, this hotel is not worth $155. It would be nice if the hotel had a shuttle to Martha Jefferson Hospital. A lot of people stay here because it's so close.

Really Great Stay. Wish the Laundry facility was on my floor like other GI's. But everything went well and food was delicious. Service was very accommodating every step of the way. Love the smartphone Key option.

An impromptu visit to UVA/CVille & HGI was our accommodations for the weekend & the experience was a good one. All the employees on both the day & night shifts went out of their way to welcome us & ensure we had a good experience. The abundance of space & natural light in the lobby is a plus, with a dual fireplace, the high-tech meeting rooms & lounge areas. In the lobby you can help yourself to complimentary coffee. There's a buffet & cooked-to-order breakfast options, snacks & a full bar...the kitchen closes at 10P. There's free Wi-Fi & onsite parking, an indoor Pool & Fitness Center rounds out the other amenities. Our King Size room was in a clean & tidy fashion with a nice view of the manmade pond & my new friend 'The Duck' who entertained me during my afternoon Tea. This my 3rd Hilton property within a couple months & have yet to be disappointed.

You never know exactly how the weather will be planning events ahead of time, Hilton Inn found the best way to ensure all my guest would not make a wasted trip or need to cancel by offering both outdoor and indoor areas to hold meetings and private events. Some occasions and gatherings are nicer to be more private if there are sensitive or private issues to discuss and getting a meeting area was the way to go so all the women invited could feel comfortable. The entire staff was so amazing and helpful and provided items I requested as well.

Four nights at this property and it was perfectly fine the whole time. I didn't eat here or use the fitness center or the pool, but the business center was easy to make some printouts and had all the stapler/tape/paper clip essentials. Room was clean and mostly quiet. King sized bed was comfortable and the working area was decently sized with FOUR power outlets. There were even outlets at bedside. That's tremendous. There was a very strong "plastic fresh smell" the first evening when I checked in, but it was gone by morning. Bathroom was clean and roomy. Nice shower with the curved shower curtain. It took a bit to get the water temperature right but the second time, I knew the sweet spot. Housekeeping did a good job of resetting the room and cleaning up my mess. Great view of the lake. No outside noise at all.

Bites I woke up With on my stomach

We stayed last weekend for a nice with our toddler. Everything was overall fine, strongly scented when we walked in and they charge for breakfast which was new to us. But the biggest issue is I woke up with bug bites on my stomach and feet. No one at the front desk as we were heading out for a 7 hr trip. Called the next day, was told they would have management look into it. Emailed and was told we should have waited for front desk staff before we left to make these "accusations" and that the front desk staff that I spoke to when I called said "it didn't sound like bed bug bites". Made it clear that I was just trying to ensure the room was completely cleaned because I definitely did not have these bites before I went to bed, they came from the bed. Was told they looked in the room and didn't find evidence of bed bugs in the room. I sent photos really just begging them to take this seriously and deep clean the room regardless. Was told "yeah something definitely irritated or bit you but we didn't find anything so ‍". I would have hoped they would have at least just deep cleaned the room regardless after a guest is bitten from their stay. There are other reviews on trip advisor regarding bed bugs as well after posting on there.

The service has been great here so far. The rooms are clean and bathroom is nicely stocked. The towels, I must say, are some of the best hotel towels I've used. They are very soft and thick. The breakfast is a steal!! As a gold member, I get free breakfast, but even without membership, it is only $10! For such a low price, they offer made-to-order omlettes, pancakes, French toast, eggs and more. There is a buffet as well which is also included, with waffles, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee and juice. This is one of the best hotel breakfasts I've had and definitely worth the money! The staff have all been incredibly friendly and I would definitely stay here again next time I visit the area.

The hotel was good but my only complaint is that the bathtub and shower are moldy and in need of replacement.

HGI is one of the best values for the money and this location continues to solidify that. We rolled in here early evening and were immediately greeted and handed our room key. There's a full bar that stayed open late, maybe too late for my wallet. The breakfast offerings are expansive and even includes a made to order omelet bar. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly. Didn't have time for the fitness center, but I'm sure it was up to the HGI standards.

Pleasantly surprised at the comfort, convenience, service and quality offered. Along with the comfortable rooms, the available amenities from exercise, pool, lounging area in a great room with fireplace and big screen TV to the incredible hot breakfast selection offered - good quality and tasty eats at a 'super' reasonable price. I'll be frequenting them often in my travels for sure. Highly recommended.

A view from behind the hotel. Beautiful and great exercise!

Choose Hilton after reviewing on Yelp. Generally would stay at Boar's Inn but no rooms were available. Hotel is located off the beaten path from UVA and downtown C'Ville but only takes 10 minutes to get there. Hotel is getting remodeled so there's a bit of dust. The new hotel will be beautiful, sorta reminds me of a W hotel in the surburan. Rooms are clean and well kept. The view from front of hotel looks like industrial park. The surprise of the hotel is in the back which has a beautiful walking path around some ponds. Great way to stretch your legs and enjoy the beauty of C'ville. They offer a breakfast buffet for $9.95 for hot meals w eggs cooked to your preference. And free tea and coffee in the lobby. A great place to consider when visiting C'ville if you don't need to be right downtown.

Two stink bugs in my room.

Hilton Garden Inn is a reliable brand. Clean and affordable. Nice, helpful front desk staff. Beds were extra firm like I like them. Free Wi-Fi. Bath and Body Works toiletries. Located right off I-64.

This is a smashed bug stuck to the wall. Yep. This greeted me when I walked in.

I had hoped that it would offer a high class experience, but it was just okay. The room had some minor aesthetic touches, but in substance was pretty standard. The entrance to the hotel felt a bit cramped, and the building seemed centered around the restaurant that didn't have much for me. The sheets caused some skin irritation, and I wish all hotels used the most hypoallergenic detergent available. From a service perspective, it was quite good. I was offered an early checkin and also took a late checkout, so I got a ton of time with the room. They also stored my luggage, including various baked goods, after I was done. So I got a lot of value out of the room. The question to me was how this hotel would compare to the others that are in downtown Charlottesville; would the experience be worth a bit more than the more standard Marriotts or various others. I was not convinced that it would be worth spending the extra money on.

Breakfast was decent, with a standard fare of eggs, sausage (regular and turkey), bacon, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, and a pancake machine. The best breakfast item was the WARM cinnamon rolls (not the healthiest, but had that nostalgic Cinnbons-at-the mall vibe). Margie the chef was very friendly. There was coffee all day and they had seasonal hot cocoa too. The rooms were new and clean and I liked that the cleaning staff came every day (many places don't even take out your trash anymore). We had a lovely mountain view from our double queen suit on the backside of the hotel. It was quite pricey for a Holiday Inn (~$400/night), but the great service helped me overlook that. While the price would deter me from staying here again, I would come back in a heartbeat for a lower rate.

I haven't stayed at many places that feel more like a five-star resort than this one. Driving up to the property felt like being in a car commercial, rolling hills, gorgeous scenery, and impeccable service waiting the moment we arrived. Check-in was seamless. We stayed in one of the rooms in the new wing, which was absolutely stunning. In 2017, the hotel completed a multi-year, $2 million renovation and expansion, and it shows in every detail. Our room overlooked the grounds and was part of the beautiful new addition. The room itself was spacious and elegant, with a wonderfully comfortable bed and a cozy nook perfect for reading or relaxing. The bathroom was equally luxurious and practically begged for a long shower. Waiting for us in the room was a handwritten note wishing us a wonderful mother-daughter trip, along with thoughtful gifts from the spa. Another nice touch: branded, reusable water bottles to use at the filling stations around the property. I loved this sustainability piece that doubles as a keepsake. During our stay, I walked the grounds, visited the spa, and toured the Southern Living Idea House which is on its ground, though honestly, this is the kind of hotel where simply staying on property feels like a vacation. Because we visited in winter, the pool was closed, but seeing it made me want to return in the spring. The fitness center was well appointed, the tennis court s and area were beautiful, and the championship golf course was gorgeous! I'm not a golfer, but I loved looking at this course from the mini windows and patios overlooking it! I'll share more about the spa in a separate review, but trust me, it is not to be missed. And the on-site restaurant, Marigold, is an absolute delight. Jean-Georges' effortless style comes through in both the ambiance and the food. We enjoyed two dinners and a brunch there, and I genuinely wish I could have eaten even more. Wow. Another standout perk is the fleet of BMWs available for guests to check out and explore the surrounding area. We chose to only venture out once, to Jefferson Vineyard, but there is plenty to explore in the greater Charlottesville area for those wanting more. In closing, this hotel is incredible! Perfectly styled and wonderfully relaxing. I will be thinking about it and my lovely time there for many years to come!

When we finally decided on this hotel, mainly because it was halfway to our final destination of Pennsylvania, and it looked quite interesting, I had trouble booking through their webpage. Everything went smoothly. She was very friendly and accommodating. We actually loved the curvy roads leading up to the winery and hotel. That portion of the trip would've been better in our roadster for sure! We were checked in by a friendly gentleman named Thomas. He gave us a room next to the outdoor pool. Finishings kind of reminded us a little bit of the accommodations. It was peacefully decorated, and mostly comfortable except for the couch. We were only using it to lounge in and something more comfortable would have been desirable. I took advantage of the dry sauna and hot tub, which was a short walk across the parking lot. We tried to take advantage of the grounds by walking around the small lake and through the fields. If they were in a dedicated walking trails, we didn't find them! The first one would take you to the Trump Winery and the second one to the Estate itself. Yes, it is still a hotel, but it feels like a country club from start to finish.
