My room was spotless and fresh! I had a lovely view and was happy that I could control the temperature. I was only here for one night and noted that room service is every other day, sadly common nowadays for whatever reason.i visited the U of V campus and ate in Charlottesville, but did have a snack and a drink.in the 1st floor restaurant. Prices are a bit steep, but you get what you pay for. The area is safe and there is even an outdoor fireplace surrounded by chairs which I didn't have opportunity to enjoy.its a bit of a ride to downtown, so keep that in mind if you Uber. Pretty good hotel. Nice view from my room. Some hotel staff did not seem to know restaurants and what was nearby. I had booked some time ago when breakfast was included in price. I found out since I booked, the hotel modified that and you had to buy breakfast on your own. It was pretty good, reasonably priced and quick. Pool and hot tub could have been warmer. I went there in the evening and found a dedicated employee testing the chemicals and get the pool and hot tub right in the evening and maintained data on a whiteboard. read more

This Hilton Garden Inn has an open and inviting entry. The staff was very friendly, and service was quick. The room was just passable. It looked clean and bright with nice pictures on the walls, which was a positive. There was a small coffee area, but it only had decaf coffee. The entry and bathroom had some type of vinyl flooring, but the rest was the horrid carpet you see in almost every hotel. The bathroom was small, and there was some type of liquid drip on the door. The water was hard to turn on in the shower to the point that we almost called for maintenance. Then we couldn't get it to stop dripping when we shut it off. We also ran out of hot water while showering. One of the beds had a loose piece that was flopping underneath. The bed pillows were terrible - entirely too soft and not enough filling. That made for a rough night of sleeping. Breakfast is $10 extra. We just went to one of the many nearby restaurants. The hotel serves dinner too in the same eating area as breakfast but, again, we didn't eat there. IMHO, this hotel is not worth $155. It would be nice if the hotel had a shuttle to Martha Jefferson Hospital. A lot of people stay here because it's so close. read more

An impromptu visit to UVA/CVille & HGI was our accommodations for the weekend & the experience was a good one. All the employees on both the day & night shifts went out of their way to welcome us & ensure we had a good experience. The abundance of space & natural light in the lobby is a plus, with a dual fireplace, the high-tech meeting rooms & lounge areas. In the lobby you can help yourself to complimentary coffee. There's a buffet & cooked-to-order breakfast options, snacks & a full bar...the kitchen closes at 10P. There's free Wi-Fi & onsite parking, an indoor Pool & Fitness Center rounds out the other amenities. Our King Size room was in a clean & tidy fashion with a nice view of the manmade pond & my new friend 'The Duck' who entertained me during my afternoon Tea. This my 3rd Hilton property within a couple months & have yet to be disappointed. read more

You never know exactly how the weather will be planning events ahead of time, Hilton Inn found the best way to ensure all my guest would not make a wasted trip or need to cancel by offering both outdoor and indoor areas to hold meetings and private events. Some occasions and gatherings are nicer to be more private if there are sensitive or private issues to discuss and getting a meeting area was the way to go so all the women invited could feel comfortable. The entire staff was so amazing and helpful and provided items I requested as well. read more

Very nice place. Pretty lobby, comfortable rooms with quality mattress and pillows. Pretty view out my hotel window of a lake. We did not have breakfast there and I don't think they offer a free breakfast. The hotel is conveniently close to downtown Charlottesville and to Monticello. Four nights at this property and it was perfectly fine the whole time. I didn't eat here or use the fitness center or the pool, but the business center was easy to make some printouts and had all the stapler/tape/paper clip essentials. Room was clean and mostly quiet. King sized bed was comfortable and the working area was decently sized with FOUR power outlets. There were even outlets at bedside. That's tremendous. There was a very strong "plastic fresh smell" the first evening when I checked in, but it was gone by morning. Bathroom was clean and roomy. Nice shower with the curved shower curtain. It took a bit to get the water temperature right but the second time, I knew the sweet spot. Housekeeping did a good job of resetting the room and cleaning up my mess. Great view of the lake. Very nice Hilton Garden Inn even though it was dated. Shaped like your normal template. Nice pool and hot tub. Workout room had nice equipment and weights. Not all tv screens on equipment worked and spinning bike was very old according to my wife. It did meet our need. Breakfast area was the normal. They did a hybrid due to covid. If you wanted hot food it was served to you. Pricing very inexpensive. If you wanted the cold buffet you could help yourself. It was about 7 dollars. Front desk people were very nice. Rooms were clean, had fridge and microwave which is the standard. We asked for extra towels and they were in the room. read more

We stayed last weekend for a nice with our toddler. Everything was overall fine, strongly scented when we walked in and they charge for breakfast which was new to us. But the biggest issue is I woke up with bug bites on my stomach and feet. No one at the front desk as we were heading out for a 7 hr trip. Called the next day, was told they would have management look into it. Emailed and was told we should have waited for front desk staff before we left to make these "accusations" and that the front desk staff that I spoke to when I called said "it didn't sound like bed bug bites". Made it clear that I was just trying to ensure the room was completely cleaned because I definitely did not have these bites before I went to bed, they came from the bed. Was told they looked in the room and didn't find evidence of bed bugs in the room. I sent photos really just begging them to take this seriously and deep clean the room regardless. Was told "yeah something definitely irritated or bit you but we didn't find anything so ‍". I would have hoped they would have at least just deep cleaned the room regardless after a guest is bitten from their stay. There are other reviews on trip advisor regarding bed bugs as well after posting on there. read more

The service has been great here so far. The rooms are clean and bathroom is nicely stocked. The towels, I must say, are some of the best hotel towels I've used. They are very soft and thick. The breakfast is a steal!! As a gold member, I get free breakfast, but even without membership, it is only $10! For such a low price, they offer made-to-order omlettes, pancakes, French toast, eggs and more. There is a buffet as well which is also included, with waffles, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee and juice. This is one of the best hotel breakfasts I've had and definitely worth the money! The staff have all been incredibly friendly and I would definitely stay here again next time I visit the area. read more

HGI is one of the best values for the money and this location continues to solidify that. We rolled in here early evening and were immediately greeted and handed our room key. There's a full bar that stayed open late, maybe too late for my wallet. The breakfast offerings are expansive and even includes a made to order omelet bar. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly. Didn't have time for the fitness center, but I'm sure it was up to the HGI standards. read more

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights and we greatly enjoyed it. It was during a snowstorm and everyone was great (shout out especially to Dawn and Kelli for all of your help, you gals rock!!). Choose Hilton after reviewing on Yelp. Generally would stay at Boar's Inn but no rooms were available. Hotel is located off the beaten path from UVA and downtown C'Ville but only takes 10 minutes to get there. Hotel is getting remodeled so there's a bit of dust. The new hotel will be beautiful, sorta reminds me of a W hotel in the surburan. Rooms are clean and well kept. The view from front of hotel looks like industrial park. The surprise of the hotel is in the back which has a beautiful walking path around some ponds. Great way to stretch your legs and enjoy the beauty of C'ville. They offer a breakfast buffet for $9.95 for hot meals w eggs cooked to your preference. And free tea and coffee in the lobby. A great place to consider when visiting C'ville if you don't need to be right downtown. read more

I stayed here for a sleep study so my experience is somewhat limited. The room itself was nice and spacious with a comfortable bed. MJH gave me the full breakfast and I got the biscuits and gravy with home fries and it was delicious. I only interacted with two staff members and they were very nice. The only reasons I didn't give the hotel 5 stars is because there was no toilet paper in the restroom and the water in the shower never got hot. I didn't bring this to anyone's attention as I was only there one night and live right down the road. read more

Stayed here for a couple of days to see the fall foliage. Stayed in a suite (225) with a comfy king bed. The suite was super clean and nice - had bath and a half and included coffee maker with coffee and add ins, microwave and small refrigerator. Lots of comfy furniture, walk in shower, black out shades, and a nice view of a pond with a fountain and walking trails, which was a great place to walk our dog (love that HGIs are dog friendly). Every staff member was super nice and helpful, including dining, reception and housekeeping. Only criticism is that someone in a room nearby played music with lots of bass all night, so sleep was elusive. I will definitely stay here again! read more

We stopped in C-Ville as a decompression point from a family get together in WV. Great room and happy to be here for a romantic stop on the way back to Williamsburg. Well, I came down with an awful stomach bug that my mom was kind enough to share with me and 6 other family members. We weren't sure I would be able to travel and the folks here were SO kind to allow a late check out and a possible stay over. They also sent pepto bismol, water and crackers to soothe the stomach with a nice note wishing me quick recovery. We stay at HGI and are honors members for this very reason. The service is consistent and in this case compassionate. Thank you all for making our stay as good as it could have been under the circumstances. read more

Terrible service! Checked in at 9:30 and asked about dinner. Was told they were open until 10. Called for room service where no-one answered so called back to front desk. Was told that room-service closes at 9, i would have to come down and order at the restaurant. Walked down to restaurant where I was told that the kitchen was closed but that I could order a drink until 10. Came back to my room to double check and of course it showed the kitchen was supposed to be open until 10. Really really disappointed. read more

I have lodged in many a HGI and this one, my friends, is a little tired. I stayed in a no frills double queen room. The beds where really uncomfortable. The pressure in the shower was quite low. The room was very clean, the TV large and the view from my room was actually lovely. I think next time I'm in town I will try the Doubletree across town. The location is great, the staff are friendly, but the bed sucks. For me staying at a hotel is about comfort however there is nothing comfortable about these beds. They are the standard type for most older hilton garden inns, you can adjust the firmness but in the end it's rubbish. I hope they change the beds, I'll be back if they do. read more

Stayed here on my recent trip to Starr Hill Brewery and Monticello with my fiancee. The condition of the hotel was mostly very good, though the rug in the second floor hallway was puckering instead of laying flat. Condition of our room was excellent and the hotel contains a restaurant (room service available until 10PM), workout room, and indoor pool with hot tub, all of which are in very nice condition and good amenities. Service was attentive, I ordered two hot dishes from room service, which were delivered within 15 minutes. When checking out I made an offhand remark about the pool being out of towels when we went swimming the evening before and the desk clerk offered to get me something from the convenience store in the lobby for free. I thought it was unnecessary and declined, but thought it a nice gesture. Additionally there is a nice restaurant across the parking lot, and a nice diner one mile down the road. Location is ideally suited if you are traveling on I-64, less than a mile from the off-ramp, but not if you are looking for a central hotel to explore Charlottesville on foot. Bottom line: good moderately-priced hotel with many amenities and good costumer services. read more

This place is located right smack in the middle of the University of Virginia which is pretty awesome because there are lots of restaurants just a walking distance away. The hotel rooms are very clean and the deco is modern. The elevators run a bit slow but, I'm never in a rush because when you're here in Charlottesville things just take a bit longer. The wifi is a little slow but, it's free. There is plenty of parking and even a complimentary breakfast buffet. Checking in and out was very was smooth because of the helpful service. read more

This is the morning of 14 November 2014 @ 07:00. Does not look bad specially after the renovation. The bedrooms look good but the beds are hard as concrete blocks. The coffee machine in the room did not work. The TV in the room depending on the channel it barely works. The morning staff seems like they do not want to be here and depending on who you are or how your dress depends on the service you get. I have to give them some credit the food is pretty good. Stayed here a few weeks ago for a wedding in Charlottesville. Overall I was really impressed. Plenty of parking out front, well lit, and a friendly staff. I do want to say a quick note about the breakfast- really impressive! You can do either the cereal/fruit breakfast (around $7 I believe) or pay around $10 for the made to order bar which included omelettes, pancakes, french toast, etc. I opted for $10 hearty breakfast option and was pleased to see my beloved southern treat- chipped beef with gravy! Many of my friends don't understand how I eat this not to mention its not always available everywhere so two thumbs up for the Hilton Garden Inn for having it! Also- their scrambled eggs (made to order) were delicious and perfectly cooked! Overall, I would absolutely stay here again and I highly recommend . This location was directly off of the road and conveniently located to other area attractions. The rooms are nice, comfortable beds, good parking options near the building and the staff was very helpful when trying to locate a local church.
