Super bouj. If you want top tier service and gilded excellence, this is your place. Gate access. Personalized service. Handwritten notes. Sparking in the room knife waiting for us. Come on. We stayed in the cabin, Which is essentially a 1000 sf house on its own with 2 king size beds and a fire place larger than my own house. What!!!??!! drink up, stay up. Don't miss.

This place was phenomenal! The food, staff, rooms and grounds were remarkable. We could not have asked for a better getaway. Chef Jamie was on point with his creations. Ethan knew exactly what our wine tastes would be. Libby, Shannon and Kelly provided us the best care. We will definitely be back =)

The trump Albemarle estate is amazing and service here is off the charts. Staff is very attentive and knowledgeable about the area. Only 11 rooms here and all are very well appointed and large. If Your looking for a place to explore the wine region of Monticello the trump hotel is in the middle of it. Dinner here was great as well as breakfast every morning. Lots of services such as a pool, hot tub , outdoor cabana horse back riding and more here.

Very nice estate to visit. You only need two nights three days. I would recommend going in spring or the summer so you can enjoy the pool. We went during January so the pool was not open but the Jacuzzi was very nice outside. They have a theater room which is 30 for the first two people and 15 for the any people after that all the candy you can eat and popcorn. The breakfast which is complementary is so delicious. You can have Adams for extra cost the vanilla latte I highly recommend. Dinner is also very delicious. They ask you to make reservations but they can pretty much accommodate you. I guess it's so that they could have the chef be expected to be there at the estate until all dinner has been served till August. You can also skip out on dinner if you choose. The fountain inside is so amazing and the grand piano gives that room a nice vibe I highly recommend sitting there by the fire the gym is perfect size and has everything you need they also have a sauna and Jacuzzi inside which is very nice.

Fantastic stay here back in March. Absolutely beautiful property with very well maintained grounds. Really enjoy our breakfast the next morning as well. Staff is incredible and best in class.

My husband and I were supposed to be in Italy for our wedding anniversary but due to COVID we had to cancel our trip. We booked Albemarle Estate on a whim hoping, at best, it would be a relaxing getaway and a change of scenery. I cannot adequately express how much we underestimated the beauty of the estate and the grounds. We had a fully stacked itinerary to explore Charlottesville and we canceled almost all of it once we got there simply to stay onsite the entire time and enjoy the amenities. The staff was wonderful, very pleasant and very accommodating. We had no idea but It is a bed and breakfast with only 10 rooms available to book and it sits on 1300 acres, so you can imagine the type of privacy you have staying there. We hardly saw any other guests, if it wasn't for the cars we would have convinced ourselves we were the only ones there. We got there the first day and explored around the main house. We also ordered a picnic to the garden/terrace, took the bikes they have around the vineyards. The food was amazing, the place was very elegant. They have a gym, a movie theater you can rent out, pool, billiards room, poker room.. you name it, they have it. I'm very picky when it comes to hotel rooms, especially the bathrooms. I was a little concerned that the rooms would be dated because I couldn't see a picture of the bathroom- I was very wrong. The bathrooms were very much up to date, the rooms were elegant and cozy. I don't think the pictures they have on their website do the rooms justice. Everything about the estate was pristine. We stayed in one of the rooms in the pool house and it was wonderful. This not only was one of the most romantic trips we've had on US soil, but it was truly the most relaxing trips we've ever taken. COVID has brought about some really weird times - this was the escape we needed. The staff went above and beyond to make the guests comfortable. We had absolutely zero concerns while we were there and we are already planning a trip back in the fall. All of the staff were fabulous, but we especially want to thank Patricia and Konie for going above and beyond to make our stay flawless.

Excellent !!! Well worth the expense, service excellent, beautiful views, spectacular property, really comfortable and private. Well worth the additional expense over other options nearby. Slightly dated, somewhat over the top interior from the previous owners, but gave it a uniqueness none the less .

Private movie theater is well stocked with goodies

Simply elegant, beautiful, peaceful and a very dedicated and guest experience focussed staff. I spent four nIghts in the Private Cabin in Jan 2020 and it was a wonderful stay in a multitude of ways. The Cabin is just steps away from the main Estate Building, yet secluded enough to really unwind and enjoy the serenity of the grounds. I had a roaring fire going almost every hour of our stay, other than the times we were out exploring the grounds or Trump winery. Even though it was Jan the weather was pleasant and I was able to sit on the screened in porch to enjoy a coffee and take in the view of the lake. My last full day I was thrilled to get to watch a local hunt club equestrian group ride by complete with dogs barking and dozens of riders. The inside was comfortable cabin luxury with a comfy couch and chairs to enjoy conversation by the fire. The bathroom also provided the hint of luxury with a huge soaking tub I took advantage of after a massage in the main building. The Estate proper is filled with beautiful art, chandeliers, and everything a person could want. There is a poker room, billiards, chess and a private movie theater you may reserve. The dining room is simply beautiful to start your day off with as you enjoy the complimentary breakfasts of your choice. The real bonus is the attentive staff. Anything you ask is somehow made possible it seems with their desire to provide the perfect stay. They are ever present if you have a request, but discreetly in the back ground so you can enjoy the ambiance. I would highly recommend this beautiful Estate for anyone who loves elegance, yet the simple charm of nature at the same time. I have it on my bucket list to return for an even longer stay next time.

My husband and I returned to Albemarle 2 years after our initial visit. I was blown away by the house and grounds then and left equally happy following this visit. Due to covid 19 we canceled our summer beach vacation but started getting a little stir crazy at home and thought Albemarle would be the perfect place to visit for a safe getaway. We invited 2 couples who are friends and booked 3 rooms. We all such had wonderful time. Aside from the massive size of the house there are so many areas outside to explore or simply sit and eat or talk at. We enjoyed using the loaner mountain bikes to explore the property, visiting nearby wineries, watching Casablanca in the theatre room which you can reserve and chatting on the terraces. Josh was amazingly helpful. I called twice before we arrived with questions about various things. When we arrived he was able to answer questions about the history of the house which deserves a book as it is so interesting. One of the couples we invited arrived very low on gas not realizing a gas station would not be super glass and the staff even arranged for someone to deliver a little can of gas on their own without being asked. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer.

Amazingly fantastic property. Food is spot on. Staff is friendly The description in the posting is Misleading in that much of what they offer is closed or shut down eg the hot tub. Massage. Movie cinema etc .

Outstanding service and amenities. The staff is wonderfully attentive. We've stayed here twice and it's worth every penny. The grounds are beautiful, the dinner is exquisite. We will be back

Jeffrey was incredibly polite and helpful on the phone when I called to update my reservation and add my status--small interaction, but it stood out. Check-in with J was smooth and efficient, and Alister greeted us with so much warmth and positivity. You could really feel that the team works well together and takes pride in what they do. The room itself was comfortable, clean, and modern, with a lovely view that made it even more enjoyable. The hotel feels very well managed overall--everything just runs the way it should. Location is another huge plus--right near UVA and central to everything you'd want while visiting Charlottesville. Without hesitation, this is the best place to stay in Charlottesville. I had hoped that it would offer a high class experience, but it was just okay. The room had some minor aesthetic touches, but in substance was pretty standard. The entrance to the hotel felt a bit cramped, and the building seemed centered around the restaurant that didn't have much for me. The sheets caused some skin irritation, and I wish all hotels used the most hypoallergenic detergent available. From a service perspective, it was quite good. I was offered an early checkin and also took a late checkout, so I got a ton of time with the room. They also stored my luggage, including various baked goods, after I was done. So I got a lot of value out of the room. The question to me was how this hotel would compare to the others that are in downtown Charlottesville; would the experience be worth a bit more than the more standard Marriotts or various others. I was not convinced that it would be worth spending the extra money on.

Breakfast was decent, with a standard fare of eggs, sausage (regular and turkey), bacon, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, and a pancake machine. The best breakfast item was the WARM cinnamon rolls (not the healthiest, but had that nostalgic Cinnbons-at-the mall vibe). Margie the chef was very friendly. There was coffee all day and they had seasonal hot cocoa too. The rooms were new and clean and I liked that the cleaning staff came every day (many places don't even take out your trash anymore). We had a lovely mountain view from our double queen suit on the backside of the hotel. It was quite pricey for a Holiday Inn (~$400/night), but the great service helped me overlook that. While the price would deter me from staying here again, I would come back in a heartbeat for a lower rate.

The property is attractive, seemingly new, well-appointed, and clean. The area felt safe. Room (5/5). We were on the top (5th) floor, accessible by elevator. *We had a huge window that faced the front parking lot. The window had a well-designed shading system that allowed you to have a transparent window, OR to use a translucent shade, or to completely block the window so the room is completely black. *King-sized bed and 4 pillows were very comfortable, and there were quality linens. *Functional features (5/5) included small tables with outlets on both sides of the bed, a lounge seat, a desk, wardrobe to hang clothes, ironing board/iron, mini fridge, microwave, Keurig machine with coffee and tea (including decaf), and a olarge tv. Noise (4/5). As the hotel was set back from the main road, we could barely hear traffic noise nor could we hear other patrons (except when they slammed their doors). Slight mark-down in rating because of the noise from the room fan which we couldn't shut off. Temperature control was good via a GE heating/cooling unit that was controlled by the room thermostat. However, the unit's fan ran continuously which interrupted my husband's sleep. Didn't bother me. Bathroom (5/5). Seemingly new and clean. One really nice design feature was that the faucet that controls the shower's water flow and temperature was on the back wall of the shower so you don't need to stand in a stream of cold water waiting for the temperature to adjust. Plentiful Dove hand wash and lotion in canisters near sink, and Dove shampoo, conditioner, and soap in shower. Breakfast (5/5). Included in price, and extensive self-serve offerings. Hot options included biscuits with hot gravy; scrambled eggs; sausage patties and links; warm cinnamon buns; oatmeal; and a pancake making machine. There was also a variety of cold cereals, yogurts, hard boiled eggs, bagels and breads, pastries, and fresh fruits (bananas, apples, oranges). Beverages included coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, plus multiple juices. Staff (5/5). Check-in and check-out were easy, and staff were friendly. We were also greeted/acknowledged by other staff we encountered, including breakfast area staff and cleaning staff. Location (5/5). The hotel is easy to reach for travelers on I-64 and 250 West. Being about 0.8 miles from I-64, and tucked behind the Wawa on 250 West, the hotel is protected from traffic noise. It was also nice to have the Wawa in close proximity after a long day's drive. We easily grabbed a hoagie, chips, and beer for dinner. Value (5/5). Our Sunday night stay in early March, 2024 was about $125, before taxes, including a large buffet breakfast for two. Finally, I note that parking was free and plentiful.

I haven't stayed at many places that feel more like a five-star resort than this one. Driving up to the property felt like being in a car commercial, rolling hills, gorgeous scenery, and impeccable service waiting the moment we arrived. Check-in was seamless. We stayed in one of the rooms in the new wing, which was absolutely stunning. In 2017, the hotel completed a multi-year, $2 million renovation and expansion, and it shows in every detail. Our room overlooked the grounds and was part of the beautiful new addition. The room itself was spacious and elegant, with a wonderfully comfortable bed and a cozy nook perfect for reading or relaxing. The bathroom was equally luxurious and practically begged for a long shower. Waiting for us in the room was a handwritten note wishing us a wonderful mother-daughter trip, along with thoughtful gifts from the spa. Another nice touch: branded, reusable water bottles to use at the filling stations around the property. I loved this sustainability piece that doubles as a keepsake. During our stay, I walked the grounds, visited the spa, and toured the Southern Living Idea House which is on its ground, though honestly, this is the kind of hotel where simply staying on property feels like a vacation. Because we visited in winter, the pool was closed, but seeing it made me want to return in the spring. The fitness center was well appointed, the tennis court s and area were beautiful, and the championship golf course was gorgeous! I'm not a golfer, but I loved looking at this course from the mini windows and patios overlooking it! I'll share more about the spa in a separate review, but trust me, it is not to be missed. And the on-site restaurant, Marigold, is an absolute delight. Jean-Georges' effortless style comes through in both the ambiance and the food. We enjoyed two dinners and a brunch there, and I genuinely wish I could have eaten even more. Wow. Another standout perk is the fleet of BMWs available for guests to check out and explore the surrounding area. We chose to only venture out once, to Jefferson Vineyard, but there is plenty to explore in the greater Charlottesville area for those wanting more. In closing, this hotel is incredible! Perfectly styled and wonderfully relaxing. I will be thinking about it and my lovely time there for many years to come!
