We absolutely loved our one night stay at Albermarle Estate. Everything wasn't perfect of course, but we would definitely stay there again. When we finally decided on this hotel, mainly because it was halfway to our final destination of Pennsylvania, and it looked quite interesting, I had trouble booking through their webpage. Maybe you can blame it on me? I just couldn't quite get the system to accept the "check in--checkout" dates. So I gave them a call and booked through a representative located in Las Vegas Vegas. Everything went smoothly. She was very friendly and accommodating. We actually loved the curvy roads leading up to the winery and hotel. That portion of the trip would've been better in our roadster for sure! We were checked in by a friendly gentleman named Thomas. He gave us a room next to the outdoor pool. Finishings kind of reminded us a little bit of the accommodations. It was peacefully decorated, and mostly comfortable except for the couch. We were only using it to lounge in and something more comfortable would have been desirable. I took advantage of the dry sauna and hot tub, which was a short walk across the parking lot. We tried to take advantage of the grounds by walking around the small lake and through the fields. If they were in a dedicated walking trails, we didn't find them! We took a tour of the main house and enjoyed our French inspired continental breakfast, though croissants would've been a nice touch! The vistas from the winery and the hotel are quite spectacular! Very interesting place. At first, I thought about staying in a hotel, not too far away, just to visit the Trump winery. Yes, that would have worked, but I also would have missed the experience here. Being off season one cannot take in all the amenities like the pool, some of the outdoor activities, and just the ability to lounge or otherwise enjoy the surrounds while staying here. However, it still turned out to be a great experience. You need to pass through a double gate to get to the lobby. The first one would take you to the Trump Winery and the second one to the Estate itself. Yes, it is still a hotel, but it feels like a country club from start to finish. The place is small enough where they, for the most part, go off your name. Dinner reservation? Okay, here is your table. Done? There is no tab (or tip for that matter). Yes, you still need to pay for it, but it just goes on your room bill seamlessly. Want something? Just ask. From the tiny two-seat bar to anything else, service is pretty personal here. For dinner the ESTATE SALAD - Arcadian green mix topped with tomato, watermelon radish, goat cheese and golden beets dressed with Trump Blanc de Blanc vinaigrette, was amazing. My main of DUCK - Pan roasted medium-rare duck breast with cherry port wine sauce, honey glazed rainbow carrots, wild rice pilaf with estate grown herbs, was the best duck I have had in a very long time. Very nice estate to visit. You only need two nights three days. I would recommend going in spring or the summer so you can enjoy the pool. We went during January so the pool was not open but the Jacuzzi was very nice outside. They have a theater room which is 30 for the first two people and 15 for the any people after that all the candy you can eat and popcorn. The breakfast which is complementary is so delicious. You can have Adams for extra cost the vanilla latte I highly recommend. Dinner is also very delicious. They ask you to make reservations but they can pretty much accommodate you. I guess it's so that they could have the chef be expected to be there at the estate until all dinner has been served till August. You can also skip out on dinner if you choose. The fountain inside is so amazing and the grand piano gives that room a nice vibe I highly recommend sitting there by the fire the gym is perfect size and has everything you need they also have a sauna and Jacuzzi inside which is very nice. read more

The new GM "Drew" is an arrogant power hungry guy who tried to take advantage of my company - the company that negotiated a FULL BUYOUT OF THE PROPERTY in August of last year. Their disorganized staff never sent a contract but held the reservation. After I never heard anything back, I am the one who had to reach out to get an update. This new "General Manager" lied via email and failed to honor a commitment they had made to me and 14 of my colleagues. Flights have been booked and expenses have been incurred and the new "Manager" just blew me off and failed to even respond to my most recent email. Pathetic management from a brand who proclaims to be the best. I wish I could talk to his supervisor. read more

My husband and I were supposed to be in Italy for our wedding anniversary but due to COVID we had to cancel our trip. We booked Albemarle Estate on a whim hoping, at best, it would be a relaxing getaway and a change of scenery. I cannot adequately express how much we underestimated the beauty of the estate and the grounds. We had a fully stacked itinerary to explore Charlottesville and we canceled almost all of it once we got there simply to stay onsite the entire time and enjoy the amenities. The staff was wonderful, very pleasant and very accommodating. We had no idea but It is a bed and breakfast with only 10 rooms available to book and it sits on 1300 acres, so you can imagine the type of privacy you have staying there. We hardly saw any other guests, if it wasn't for the cars we would have convinced ourselves we were the only ones there. We got there the first day and explored around the main house. We also ordered a picnic to the garden/terrace, took the bikes they have around the vineyards. The food was amazing, the place was very elegant. They have a gym, a movie theater you can rent out, pool, billiards room, poker room.. you name it, they have it. I'm very picky when it comes to hotel rooms, especially the bathrooms. I was a little concerned that the rooms would be dated because I couldn't see a picture of the bathroom- I was very wrong. The bathrooms were very much up to date, the rooms were elegant and cozy. I don't think the pictures they have on their website do the rooms justice. Everything about the estate was pristine. We stayed in one of the rooms in the pool house and it was wonderful. This not only was one of the most romantic trips we've had on US soil, but it was truly the most relaxing trips we've ever taken. COVID has brought about some really weird times - this was the escape we needed. The staff went above and beyond to make the guests comfortable. We had absolutely zero concerns while we were there and we are already planning a trip back in the fall. All of the staff were fabulous, but we especially want to thank Patricia and Konie for going above and beyond to make our stay flawless. read more

I struggle finding places to stay on yelp and trip advisor because 5 star to someone else may be 3 star to me. The staff was so nice and the grounds are beautiful. I paid 500$ a night and I wonder how this place made money off me since it probably is expensive to upkeep this place. This is 5 star on any scale. It was perfect for covid. At capacity everyone was spread out and everything is clean. It's near Monticello and other wineries. The pool is nice and wasn't busy...even in July. The kitchen isn't fully functional due to covid...but so what. This isn't a trip for cuisine. It's to relax. read more

Simply elegant, beautiful, peaceful and a very dedicated and guest experience focussed staff. I spent four nIghts in the Private Cabin in Jan 2020 and it was a wonderful stay in a multitude of ways. The Cabin is just steps away from the main Estate Building, yet secluded enough to really unwind and enjoy the serenity of the grounds. I had a roaring fire going almost every hour of our stay, other than the times we were out exploring the grounds or Trump winery. Even though it was Jan the weather was pleasant and I was able to sit on the screened in porch to enjoy a coffee and take in the view of the lake. My last full day I was thrilled to get to watch a local hunt club equestrian group ride by complete with dogs barking and dozens of riders. The inside was comfortable cabin luxury with a comfy couch and chairs to enjoy conversation by the fire. The bathroom also provided the hint of luxury with a huge soaking tub I took advantage of after a massage in the main building. The Estate proper is filled with beautiful art, chandeliers, and everything a person could want. There is a poker room, billiards, chess and a private movie theater you may reserve. The dining room is simply beautiful to start your day off with as you enjoy the complimentary breakfasts of your choice. The real bonus is the attentive staff. Anything you ask is somehow made possible it seems with their desire to provide the perfect stay. They are ever present if you have a request, but discreetly in the back ground so you can enjoy the ambiance. I would highly recommend this beautiful Estate for anyone who loves elegance, yet the simple charm of nature at the same time. My husband and I returned to Albemarle 2 years after our initial visit. I was blown away by the house and grounds then and left equally happy following this visit. Due to covid 19 we canceled our summer beach vacation but started getting a little stir crazy at home and thought Albemarle would be the perfect place to visit for a safe getaway. We invited 2 couples who are friends and booked 3 rooms. We all such had wonderful time. Aside from the massive size of the house there are so many areas outside to explore or simply sit and eat or talk at. We enjoyed using the loaner mountain bikes to explore the property, visiting nearby wineries, watching Casablanca in the theatre room which you can reserve and chatting on the terraces. Josh was amazingly helpful. I called twice before we arrived with questions about various things. When we arrived he was able to answer questions about the history of the house which deserves a book as it is so interesting. One of the couples we invited arrived very low on gas not realizing a gas station would not be super glass and the staff even arranged for someone to deliver a little can of gas on their own without being asked. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer. read more

We have now stayed at Albemarle House bed and breakfast on two occasions. Our first visit, for one "get away" evening, was in the largest "master suite," the Jefferson Room. It was exceptional in all respects. This room has two large bathrooms, one in wood with a shower for him and one with a clawfoot tub in the center of an opulent room with hand-painted tiles for her (it was the former master suite in the Kluge Estate). The bed linens are among the most comfortable I have experienced and the Trump signature bath products are wonderfully luxurious. The room is huge and outfitted with gorgeous pieces of furniture. A second two night stay was in the Tyler room in the pool house. It offered a different experience than the Jefferson room in the main house - but no less wonderfully luxurious. Indeed, it may have been even more relaxing, as we utilized the pool and warm jacuzzi right outside our door each day and evening. A breakfast is provided each morning in the beautiful dining room. I had orange crepes, breakfast toast with freshly made jam, freshly squeezed juice, and English tea. There is a wonderful library in the main house for relaxing evening reading or shooting pool. The gardens and fountain behind the house are extraordinary, as are the pastoral views. You quickly understand why John Kluge selected this spot to build his estate three decades ago. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Mike, the B&B manager, greets you and makes certain that you feel like the only guest in the place. Albemarle House is an exceptional venue to get away, unwind and relax in complete comfort. It also doesn't hurt that the Trump Winery Tasting Room is just down the road! read more

First of all the view and grounds are something out of a movie, with rolling meadows and acres of grape vines and the longest winding, picturesque driveway on earth. It takes more than 3 minutes of driving after they open the gigantic black wrought iron gates at the entrance to the grounds. Then the manor itself....stunning. 26,000 square feet of space, and it's all yours. This is your house. If you've always wanted to feel what it's like to be a zillionaire, this is the place. The estate is beautiful. We stayed in the Jefferson Suite which is the largest there with two bath rooms, unbelievable storage space in closets, cabinets, and drawers. The decor of the house is superb...elegant and tasteful. The staff was friendly. That said, at a thousand dollars a night, there is definitely room for improvement. We had to carry our own luggage both in and out. They only made the room because we asked. The gardens and house could use more attention to detail and the staff should dress and act more professionally. The breakfast waitress wore the same dirty clothes covered in cat hair both mornings, was intrusively chatty, and had body odor. We ate there for one dinner. My husband had the filet mignon which was excellent, but my crab cake was pedestrian at best. For a total cost for two nights at almost $2,500, we expected a better run hotel. The winery was excellent, clean, well run, and beautifully appointed. We enjoyed the wines a lot. For lunch we ate the prosciutto flatbread which was excellent. read more

Stayed here in October 2018. I planned a long weekend here because the last time I visited the area I saw this from the Trump Winery and wanted to book a special stay here. The place is beautiful and well run. I only gave this place 3 stars because while we were staying there were stink bugs EVERYWHERE! We told the staff and they would come and remove them from the room, but they acted as if it was just a normal occurrence we had to deal with because it was part of the season. Imagine paying for a very expensive room and being afraid bugs were going to crawl on you while you slept. No matter how beautiful the room, you just can not relax. This is definitely a place I would not recommend to others until they get a handle on the bug issue. It's a shame because it was such a beautiful place with great amenities. We rented the movie theater one night for a viewing of a movie. It was a great experience with the popcorn and candy. Breakfast was included and delicious. read more

We stayed as two couples within the William and Mary suites. These suites overlook the wonderful rolling meadows and lakes. The facilities, furnishings, and amenities are first class. A FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE!! My experience began with helpful emails from Lindsay (Concierge) concerning our stay in the Jefferson Grand Suite on 2 to 3 Jan 2016. Lindsay was very helpful and patient in answering my many questions and a pleasure to meet when we checked in. We had lunch at the Trump Tasting Room before checking. We met Derek (Hospitality Manager) that day and he was fantastic in helping us coordinate our dinner that was later delivered to Estate. That was a welcomed option since dining is limited in the immediate area. Order before 5pm. Lindsay was so nice in heating it up for us later that evening. Alex (Concierge) was an all star and wonderful to us on Sunday. His attention to detail was a superb in presenting our delicious brunch prepared by Chef Tyron. Alex was also extremely kind to me in providing me some flexibility on the cooking class that we signed up for. I must say, HIS service, attitude and kindness is one of the reasons we already are planning on coming back to stay again. I really appreciated him ensuring our experience was a valuable one and his simple acts generosity did not go unnoticed and were extremely appreciated. The cooking class with Chef Tyrone and Chef Shelby was phenomenal. They both made it easy and fun to cook an exception meal. Their positive energy and light hearted guidance made it a memorable event. Their great choice of creating ricotta "noky" pasta with farm fresh sausage, topped with a creamy spinach & roasted butternut squash was nothing short of fabulous. THANK YOU! The Jefferson Grand Suite was of course wonderful. Love the tub and 2 fire places. We also had a blast playing billiards and walking the grounds of the impressive Estate. We plan on going again soon. This place is fantastic. We stayed here only one night, but it felt like we had the place to ourselves because it was so big. It truly lives up to the Trump brand, luxury at every corner. This is a new B&B of a restored country estate on the Trump Vineyard. The views alone are worth the stay, but there is also so much more to this estate. You can spend days wandering the gardens, pool and vineyard. It is a luxury escape from the world. They only serve breakfast, so you have to go into Charlottesville for lunch and dinner. It does not get better than this! A wonderful stay in the lap of luxury! I've travelled the world, but have never experienced this level of opulence and I reveled in it! We were greeted with a "homegrown" toast on arrival, and sat overlooking the property and vineyards to enjoy it! Could not believe the size of this property and so enjoyed strolling all the beautiful grounds and gardens! Entering the mansion was surreal, and the architecture and decor was breathtaking. The use of trompe l'oeil gave such depth and height to the common areas. Each room was amazing- library, bar, parlor, dining room, art gallery, theater, spa, and many more, each with detailed character, and several with garden and waterway views. The pool, pool house, and pool lounge area were peaceful and immaculate, as was the entire place. There is no lack of attention to detail here! With only 8-10 rooms to service, it's no wonder you are catered to so diligently! Stayed for a Vine and Dine event, with a perfectly paired 5 course meal with tastings, and it was wonderful and beyond eloquent! It began with cocktails in the Rose Garden, which was one of my favorite areas on the estate. Our room was beautiful, as was our bathroom, and both were huge! My husband and I stayed at the Estate for my birthday (and our first night away from our little girl), and WOW--the amenities and opulence of the hotel are simply stunning. We played billiards in the Library while sipping a lovely red blend, then watched a movie in the theater (complete with complimentary popcorn and candy bar!), then took a dip in the outdoor jacuzzi under the stars. After a delicious breakfast the next morning, we used the Estate bikes to take a riding tour of the property--beautiful with amazing views. I was bummed we didn't spend more time in the room, as it was gorgeous and the bed so comfortable, but we were too busy. We will definitely be back. read more

Our stay rates a solid 4.5/5 We stayed in the Deluxe Pool House "Wilson" room. It was FANTASTIC! Spacious room, quiet, huge 65 inch TV, great truffles waiting in the room, and absolute fantastic scenery. Food is great which is prepared in house. Pool is big and offer PLENTY of seats.. There are a total of 10 rooms on the entire estate so its a perfect getaway. Reason for not giving 5/5 -You have to call the reception to raise or lower temperature in room -Dinner is NOT served on Sunday nights -Breakfast is only from 8-10am -Downtown Charlottesville is 20 mins away -Spotty cell service, but free and FAST wifi is available -There are TONS of services available such as in house bartender, theatre room, exercise room, massages, horse back riding, TRUMP winery, etc. but you need to ask beforehand. This is one of the finest places we have stayed at. We were greeted by the Hotel manager Amanda Barber and the manager of the estate and winery, Kerry Woolard. They both were kind enough to take our luggage to our room, which was elegant and overlooking the gardens behind. This estate is beyond description! The views are incredible of the vineyard, rolling hills and lake in front. In back is an amazing swimming pool and flower garden. As beautiful as any we have seen in Europe. Kerry gave the guests a tour of the estate and she did an excellent job. We had a delicious four course dinner in the Estate dining room, which is comparable to a palace dining room. It was my husbands Birthday, and this was the perfect place to celebrate. We visited the Trump Winery and bought gifts for friends. It was so nice! Tables and chairs are outside to enjoy the fabulous views of the countryside and the Albemarle Estate. We had Mother's Day Brunch on Sunday at the Pavillion next to the Estate. It was outstanding!! The facility is beautiful, with amazing views. The Buffet was great and the fresh flowers and live music made this a day I will never forget. I cannot say enough good things about this entire stay. You feel like KING AND QUEEN on vacation, because that is how we were treated. Even the coffee was the best my husband has had! If you enjoy fine resorts and hotels, you will love this place.
