Update: Spoke to the manager who informed me that the construction work would not be happening after 6pm anymore. The entire front desk staff were really helpful. Keeping my fingers crossed and having faith this is true. Hotel is under construction so there's non stop hammering, drilling, loud banging, doors slamming until late at night! When I asked to be moved to a different room I was told that there isn't anywhere in this hotel that I wouldn't hear the noise! read more

This was our 2nd stay - visited last in Sep2022. Pretty good overall. Check in went smoothly but we were not upgraded to a suite despite Diamond status and availability. Good wifi and water pressure in the shower. Microwave. Mini frig did freeze our food. We booked the hotel because it had a pool - this pool is half indoor half outdoors - it is small and was crowded the whole duration of our visit so we skipped it. Staff at the breakfast restaurant were really accommodating and we enjoyed our breakfasts. Overall a solid choice. read more

I had to stay here for a week due to a conference having a block here, and I can say the front desk was attentive to my questions and requests. Front lobby is nice and clean, breakfast costs $14.95 which I will not partake in. The biggest problem is the lights in the room, overall the room is clean, the bed is nice. But when you click on the lights they flicker like a horror film, bathroom and all before the incessant buzzing you get. Overall front desk people very helpful, but I will not come back until those horror film lights are gone. read more

This place is HORRIBLE! Staff is good but one problem about them. Hot tub pretty much doesn't exist. Dirtiness is a trend here, pool is so gross and gym even dirtier! Rooms are also extremely dirty and they are so small. Also I asked for a high level room and they gave me one on the FIRST floor! Bed was extremely stiff and no streaming on the TV and only random shows that are old! Also hotel lobby bathroom was the most dirty place ever! And no soap in any of the soap dispensers. No toiletries and DO NOT get the breakfast. The longhorn steakhouse Nextdoor is a lot better. AC too cold and impossible to figure out. Logging in to the WiFi is the most painful process ever! Ladybugs EVERYWHERE!! and why is breakfast not only not free, but also $15? Too expensive for how bad it is! I'd rather stay in a sleep pod for 10 days than here for even 1. Had to wait a few minutes at the check in desk before anyone came out to get us. Hotel itself was decent but did feel like it needed to be updated and refreshed. They serve breakfast for an additional fee, which we didn't try. Most Hilton's have fresh baked cookies, but we never saw any. Traveled here with my boyfriend to Helen Georgia to see some fall foliage from Florida, the hotels in Helen Georgia absolutely horrific, all of them...don't waste your time or your money on them, my boyfriend found this hotel end it was 45 minutes out of the way... and when we got here it was so nice compared to what we have seen in Helen GA, the bed is comfortable, the room is so clean, the sheets even smell clean on the bed...I was pleasantly surprised, small kitchen area with a couch, TV... my only complaint would be that the Remote for the TV don't really work, the bathroom was kind of cool, it had no shower door or half of one, in any case I loved my stay here and would return... it was a bit pricey but it was a last minute decision and I thought it was well worth it, there is cheaper out there but it depends on what you want or what you need, as for myself I would be using this hotel to come back to, this area in Georgia is absolutely stunning in the Fall which I was also pleasantly surprised and enjoyed. read more

First time staying here. Since I am a Hilton Honors member, I expected the same outstanding quality at this property. The Lobby was clean and inviting. The staff were friendly and professional. Upon entering our room there was a clean, fresh smell, However, there was a dead, petrified cockroach on the floor by the desk. Upon closer inspection, the corners of the room seemed un-vacuumed. The party in the next room were noises and kept bumping around which was easily heard. Very happy his was just a one night stay. read more

Stayed here while attending a wedding in the area. Check in was a breeze. Staff was amazing. Room was very nice. Breakfast was just nice and the omelets we amazing. The only drawback for use is while using the complimentary internet out computer protection kept warning us that something on the network was trying to redirect us to another site. Notified the front desk so they could have their provider check/scan the network for problems. Stopped using their internet and called it a day. read more

Found a hair that wasn't mine on my comforter, and two more on bed pillows. Lots of trash left around the lobby and a general uncleanliness throughout the hotel. UPDATE: Second night staying here. First night, I found a long black hair both on my bed comforter and on both of my pillows. Today, I showered and before using a towel, inspected all four for hairs. I found at least one long black hair on each of the FOUR towels. I have red hair, so I am absolutely positive they are not my hairs. The room was fine, the Hilton Honors points great, and the price was right. However, I can't help but take issue with the way they treated my elderly great-aunt when she tried to check in early. It was a Saturday morning around noon, and instead of actually checking to see if they had a room available, the clerk took one look at my aunt and snootily replied that check in was at 3pm and that her room would be ready then. He was equally unhelpful when she inquired if their restaurant was open for lunch. With a terse one word reply of "no." No offer of other restaurants in the area that were open for lunch. And when she tried to store her luggage, he whisked it away before she could take her heavy coat off to store with it, and then looked annoyed when she asked if he could take it back to store with her bag. There was also a billing issue where they charged the wrong card for a room. Though that was rectfied when we brought it to the manager's attention, it was still a hassle. Finally, their breakfast, which looks like the standard complimentary breakfast at most Hampton Inns, was an extra charge. I won't be returning when I need overnight accomodations in the Gainesville area. read more

This is one of my favorite hotels in this area. New, clean, and excellent customer service. The beds are super comfortable as well as the A/C. The pool is indoor/outdoor. The gym is fully loaded. Breakfast is very good as well. Wi-Fi is very robust and the tv channels are loaded on a local cable tv network. My only negative on this which is more common with this chain is no safes in the rooms. read more

Our family of 4 stayed here for a couple of days. We use HGI a lot (work and vacation) and this one is below par based on our experience. First, I can't recall hearing people speaking in a normal voice from an adjacent room at any HGI before but we heard the people next door every night. They weren't yelling or boisterous or anything. But we could hear their conversation very well. Second, the Wifi in our room and the lobby was below par in performance. Our family of devices could connect but often browsing was very slow and streaming impossible. We are definitely a connected family and so I was hearing "let's leave" daily. The Wifi was barely good enough to prevent me from agreeing. Finally the staff was not very friendly or helpful, most especially at breakfast. Everything in the morning was self-service. We were never even offered coffee or refills and had to track it down ourselves (one day both of the large coffee urns was empty and it took 10 minutes for them to produce more coffee, or course while our breakfast got cold). The guy at checkin (glasses and a cane) was superb. After that a smile or a hello was quite rare. We would like for a different hotel next time in the area in spite of being loyal to Hilton and HGI. read more

Stayed here for business. Standard Hilton Garden Inn. Room was clean and quiet. Staff was friendly enough. Breakfast was average also. Biggest issue was no bar. When we asked they said there was no liquor license. For $139 per night everything should be available. read more

Room was mostly clean. We stayed here on a Saturday night and it appears that a lot of locals were here to party. The kids could not get anywhere near the pool. There were people screaming in the hallways and slamming doors till around 3am. There were piles of beer cans and trash in the middle of the parking lot the next morning. The manager didn't even pretend to care when I made him aware of the issues. The employee standing next to him actually laughed. So this hotel looks very nice from the outside. I liked that I could use my phone for my key. There are restaurants nearby. I'm not sure what the area offers because I didn't adventure. The rooms were stuffy and seemed a bit dated. I stayed here for a week but I was never comfortable because lady bugs were EVERYWHERE! Literally, like in my room. The gym was dated, but they had weights for use. The treadmill made horrible noises. I'm not sure if there is free breakfast here. read more

I visited this hotel while on business and it has been problematic in several areas. Duck Feathered Pillows: Despite multiple communication about my allergy to these pillows, I still have them placed in my room for 3 weeks in a row. I left for 1 week and returned to the same situation. Multiple emails from the manager solved nothing and then excuses were being made for the same staff who's on duty during my check in. It's bad when other consultants like myself have the same problem and have to have this same experience at this hotel. I had their staff tell me all guests have to have 2 feathered and 2 non-feathered pillows. I put the pillows out of my room and now have resorted to bringing my own pillows. Other Problems: Bathroom Vents are beyond noisy. This is a known problem yet no one fixes it-they wait for complaints. I always request that mine is turned off. In the am I can hear the other guest's bathroom vent from the thin walls. I have use the light outside of the bathroom in the am in an attempt to not disturb anyone when I get up at 5am. At some point I have no choice but to turn on the light which also activates the vent since there's one switch for both. Someone may consider putting 2 switches so they are independent of each other. Carpet on the 6th floor looks like a stain from a spill but the carpet stays like that. My room had carpet stains too. Walls in the room have stains like something spilled over but no one has cleaned the room. Mattresses can be made firmer/softer based on preferences however the first mattress I went to adjust was stained when I lifted the fitted sheet to access the button. Pros: Great breakfast selections and chef to make omelettes/eggs as you desire. Wait staff friendly. Keurigs in the room is a plus-unfortunately I've had defective ones. As a note I left this hotel for months so I can avoid allergic reaction to their pillows. No other Hilton Hotel has ever had a problem removing feathered pillows from my room. I have traveled as a consultant all over the country (as demonstrated by my more than 900,000 points + I've used quite a bit of them) without ever having an issue. I was at the Hampton in in Flowery Branch, GA for about 4-5 months without any pillow issues. The front desk staff made it their business to check my room before my arrival. If I changed my room at check in they would accompany me to my room to remove any feathered pillows. This is what customer service is about. I was having such severe reactions to the pillows that left my eyes swollen/ draining yellow and painful. This is how I arrived to work after a night on the pillows at this hotel. I am now forced to bring my own pillows. The sign on their desk say you don't pay if not satisfied but no one has ever offered this remedy to me. I had to tell their manager that I'm a RN and one of these days they may find an ambulance at their door because no one seems to think this is important to rectify and continuously ensure. The night shift staff 11p-7a is very helpful and attentive. The one time I arrived around 12midnight was the one and only time my room had no feathered pillows and the vent was turned off. I select my room the day before my arrival thinking this would ensure the room is fixed correctly. Talking to the manager seems to do nothing. I feel like I'm being Ok'd to death but no follow through. The 3-11 staff that I had to interact every Sunday during my check in acted as though it was killing her to smile, be pleasant or even acknowledge my Diamond level. She never offered me water as all Hilton hotels do and decided she would give me points rather than ask my preference for points vs. breakfast. I haven't seen her of late. The solution for me is that my company is seeking my own housing rather than deal with these issues. I have a wait for my apt to be available but it can't come soon enough. read more

I guess a three star is suitable for the total blandness of the property. There was absolutely nothing special about this joint. Not anything bad, but certainly nothing I'd want to "selfie" of. For $130 (expedia price) I kinda expected to be slightly wowed about something. Didn't happen. That-being said the view from the room might have been the selling point. Was it a view from a hillside overlooking picturesque Lake Lanier. NO. The view was of a very run down trailer park. Definitely not post card material. One last thing, the transmission wrecking dip in the driveway might just give one a souvenir that they don't want to take home. read more

Where o' where to begin with this hotel! Woke up early in the morning for the courteous guest breakfast or should i say "comfort hotel's breakfast." And was ready to make myself a cream and cheese bagel, once i open the bagel in half i see fur inside the bagel! The lady next to me who was also staying at the hotel pointed it out that it was mold a soon as she saw it and complained to the hotel manager, Neal Patel the General Manager. As i overheard to see if the staff was going to put new bread, instead i heared the GM respond to the lady, "miss the breakfast is free anyways, why complain?" i stared at the guy with a What the HECK! face....the lady straight told him to check her out the hotel because she could not dare herself to find out what's on the menu the next breakfast. These guys are SICK and DISGUSTING they didn't even put the bread away until the lady left then one of the staff checked it out and quickly threw it away. Yes we are human and mistakes happen but these are guest paying for a quality stay instead i get expired food???? I'll let you guys decide on staying there. read more

This is quite an awful hotel. The only good thing was the service ,staff was very nice. oh the free blueberry bar in the lobby.. Otherwise, I can give you a long list of what is wrong. The spa (hot tub) could probably fit two people. I could hear the phone ring in the room next to us, and one night there was a party next door, I called THREE times to the front desk, each time she said there were other complaints and they were doing something about it, it never stopped. The pull out couch that I was sleeping on, felt like a rock, I actually ended up sleeping on the king bed alongside my mom because i could not take the pull out couch. The breakfast is not free, it is 10 and it didnt look that good. No bar (no liqour license ) The restaurant is weird looking, to open, like right in the middle of the lobby The internet did not work one night in the business center My sisters boyfriends used their iron and it ruined two of his shirts, and we were going to a wedding and the shirts were expensive. (this hotel will be hearing about that). It was just not what we expected. It was pretty bad. I couldn't wait to leave after our 3 night stay! read more

I stayed here for three nights while traveling for work. I switched rooms after the first night because the AC was so inefficient it kicked on every 30 minutes or so (this was in January and I had it set at a reasonable 68 degrees). It made a loud banging noise that kept waking me up. When I requested a new room the following morning the person at the desk offered to try and fix the AC... He then immediately changed his mind and told me he would put me in a new room. This was due either to the expression on my face (the hotel is mostly empty, why the hell wouldn't he just give me a new effing room and get the AC fixed on his own time?) or the managerial-looking person who came out from the back room right then. Anyway, I got a new room and the AC was fine. The sheets, however, were extremely thin and old. I could see the design on the mattress very well through the bottom sheet. They were also really scratchy. I put the thing on the bed to get the sheets changed, but after the room was cleaned the sheets were just as bad (or exactly the same...). This place looks like "paradise" in comparison to Holiday Inn Lanier Center. The weather was bad in my location and I needed a place to stay for the nights of October 4th and 5th. I am a Hilton Honors Member and should have booked this hotel to begin with, next time I will know. This hotel is Clean, the reception area is clean and bright, the staff is courteous and polite, the rooms are clean and quiet and the hotel is set back so the traffic on the main road is not a disturbance. The hotel is safe and is in a safe location. Again the rooms are clean, updated and the beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are clean and have everything they need including the standard "bathroom fans." The room service is good in case you don't want to go out and there are plenty of restaurants nearby within walking distance in pretty weather. The location is not a good in town as another Hotel, but the accommodations are "stellar" in comparison. I had a long day ahead of me on the 5th, I asked for a late checkout they gave it to me and did not charge me for it ! They also called me when my room was ready on the 4th. Do not ever stay at the Holiday Inn Lanier Center, is is disgusting. I paid almost less than half of what I had to pay per night in the other location. So for half the price I stayed in a clean, safe, friendly up to date hotel. I wan't lied to or tricked into booking a more expensive room or anything of that sort, I told them what I needed and they gave me what they had that was available that best fit my description, and it was nice! Stay here! Holiday Inn Lanier Centre ruined an important visit to my alma mater and an important workshop for me. I was exhausted at the workshop and they totally ruined a tour of my alma mater. The manager on duty was rude and even abusive the hotel is nasty and overpriced and loud you cannot get a good nights sleep there , at least not in room 331 . It is NOT a Safe Hotel. I will have a hard time forgiving that hotel, I left in tears and did not get to see my alma mater up close as was planned and it was all their fault. I live far out of town and was so looking forward to this one part. I will Never Stay at this location again, it was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Horrible place and for 200 bucks per night, you've got to be kidding. Stay at Hilton Garden Inn in Gainesville, it's a nice place. This picture at the bottom is not true of this hotel. This hotel is Clean and up to date , modern , quiet and safe....someone just caught a spill and wanted to expound upon it...there are always grumps like this. His response, "This can happen easier than you would think." To that comment, I replied, "I've stayed with Hilton for 13 years and been a Diamond for the majority of that time, and it has never happened to me." The Asst. GM then said, "Well, I'm surprised." Through conversation with the General Manager the next morning, I found out that there is technology available to keep this from happening. This was an ok place! It had a good staff and was pretty clean! It's close to food and shops

We are staying here for 9 nights 1/23-2/1 and everything is fine so far, but the biggest disappointment is that they charge $10 per adult (kids 12 and under eat free) for breakfast. They are doing a remodel on the lobby, and when we went down (for what we thought was a free breakfast) everything was laid out in the most disgusting way in a conference room. We have a 3 year old and weren't about to pay to take him to a restaurant so we decided to eat here. When we were about to leave they handed us a bill for $21.00! I was shocked! The food was NOT worth $21.00 and it was pretty much a continental breakfast. Not worth the money. We have stayed at plenty of hotels and never had to pay for breakfast, must hotels even offer omelette bars for free. Really bummed that we are staying here for so long and paying so much money and they can't even offer a free breakfast. Would of gave 5 stars other then that. Won't be going down for breakfast the remainder of the time we are here. read more
