Came here for a Bar Mitzvah Celebration and stayed overnight. The place was very clean, and the party even came with security at the door. Not sure if this was free from the hotel or paid for by the hosts but my stay here was nothing but pleasant. I am not sure why so many low ratings have been posted for this hotel, but I was pleased with the experience. If you need to stay in Hamilton, NJ I would def give it a look. We stayed at this Hilton location because we were in town for a wedding. The lobby and grounds are very clean and well-kept. However, the rooms are extremely old and run down. The walls are thin, so it was difficult to sleep, as we heard all the noise above us and in the hallways. I'm a Hilton member, so I opted for a digital room key before checking in. However, for whatever reason, it didn't work. Check-in was extremely slow at the front desk. They had a line of people (two weddings had blocks there that weekend) and only one person checking them in. We requested late checkout which they accommodated, so we appreciated that! read more

Front desk staff Angela and Laurelle were exceedingly kind (even though I had a mobile key and didn't 'need' them their bright-shiny faces made an impression as soon as I walked in. In my room I woulda swore the place was less than 6mo old! Amazing clean and modern and very well laid-out. It had been a long week and I wanted food and a drink and food and saw that there was a bar/bistro in the lobby. Celebrated my friend's wedding here and they did a great job! The rooms are spacious with all your basic necessities. The gazebo area where the ceremony occurred was nice and theres a fountain right behind it. I liked the space and the setup they had for the cocktail hour and the reception area was nicely decorated as well. I enjoyed the variety food served for the reception. For the choice of meat, there were chicken, beef and salmon; the salmon was my favorite, although the other two options were good as well. Mashed potatoes, veggies and salads were also served. They also have a little outdoor hangout spot on the front side of the hotel with tables and chairs and corn hole. I recommend this hotel if you're thinking of a venue for a wedding. read more

The housekeepers are very attentive and respectful of your privacy. If you're ever there on a Friday night, please get a drink at the bar with Myra. Myra makes great drinks. We stayed one night in august. From the outside the hotel looks brand new and much more interesting than most chain hotel buildings. Plenty of parking. Little awkward to find the driveway but not terrible. The lobby area was very large and well appointed. Everything looked clean. We stayed on the second floor and the hallways and our room were very clean and looked well kept. I'm guessing renovates not long ago. Inside the room the AC was awesome and NOT one of the newer setup that doesn't really let you control the settings! The room was large and very clean. Bed was comfortable. . The tub was odd in that you need to step up into it and the door to the bathroom was a heavy metal door that opened into the entry hall for the room - it terrible but odd. read more

I drove up to an exotic looking hotel with plenty of parking. There is a covered area for loading and unloading. I was astounded after entering the lobby with majestic features with the front desk host Robby smiling with a warm greeting. I also observed a snack shop, kitchen, and full bar. (Refer to image) I had a warm feeling knowing I was in good hands. The room was incredible! 2 TV, 2 rooms, fully stocked bathroom. The rooms are so spacious. I had a good night's sleep. Breakfast is from 6-10am. After arriving for breakfast there was Trish smiling and stated, "Sir, have a seat and we will take your order". At this point I was feeling like a king! Overall had a good stay here. Stayed for 2 nights because I was attending a wedding nearby. The room is cleaned and sanitized. I liked the fact that you can open the door from the Hilton app from your phone. I can even open the door without getting up from my bed if someone knocked at the door. The amenities were good and the room is spacious. Room service will only come when you request to avoid interaction. One thing was that the hairdryer was broken so we called into the front desk to get another one. A staff came and delivered one so that was super nice! Parking was easy as well. read more

Staff at this hotel require intensive hospitality training. Desk Manager when we checked in after dark was cold, provided incorrect information, and went out of his way to be unhelpful. 1. Had planned for our adult son to use the hotel while wife and I stayed with my elderly Aunt nearby, however got caught in traffic traveling from Boston to NJ and arrived very late. Did not want to disturb her, so all decided to stay at hotel and son would stay on pull out couch in room. When we saw room did not have a couch returned to desk to request room change. Desk manager coldly stated he couldn't change rooms without CHARGING us for the first one because we had "entered it". NONSENSE, we are 30+ year Hilton Honors members, have stayed in dozens of Hilton's and requested room changes on occasion with no issue. When we asked for a roll away cot he said it would add $25 to the room...not only not even a thought about our situation, how tired we were, or our Gold member status, but repeatedly attempted to blame us for "not telling him first" we were going to stay (????) 2. Had to ask for what we knew was two meal credit vouchers as Gold members. He gave them to us, and assured us they covered the "Full Breakfast". When we went to use the next morning, found he had only entered for ONE guest, not two, had to go to desk to correct. NO ONE AT DESK during busy morning. Manager was in office behind with door closed, until one of the breakfast staff saw me waiting and came and got him. After checking out, received final receipt on which we STILL had been charged for BOTH breakfasts. Had to call hotel to obtain credit, which we were then told only covered $10/each, not the full cost of breakfast. NO ATTEMPT to just waive the small overage out of consideration for their mistake and our needing to call to correct. 3. As a final "Seriously?", had only two towels in the morning for showering and needed three. Found housekeeper just down the hall from our room, with a cart filled with towels. When I asked if we could have one she just said "No" and looked away. When I asked why, she said, "You need to ask the manager". No, "I'm sorry". No, explanation. Went down to desk AGAIN. Morning Manager AGAIN not at desk, but in office behind with door closed, then wandered out after a few minutes. When I asked why housekeeper couldn't hand me ONE towel he said they can be "very territorial". WHAT???? It's one thing to refuse to make any extra effort for guests, it's another to go out of your way to be UNHELPFUL. ALL STAFF need Hospitality Training. Especially Night Manager. I made this reservation on my Hilton app for my 22-year-old daughter who was traveling back to college. I tried to get her the digital key, but it did not work which is pretty common on this app so I told her to go to the front desk while I was on the phone to assist with her check in. The guy at the front desk was so nasty to her I was stunned! He would not let her check in even though the app said she was already checked in and basically put her back on the road sleepy after midnight. For some reason, I am a Hilton diamond member with over 1 million points accumulated and use them regularly. I have two Hilton Amex cards and Hilton grand vacation timeshares. The front desk guy yelled at her and told her she could not use my credit card and that the room would cost her $300 when I had the charge for $174 on my card. So they charged me yet sent her away back on the highway again. If you look at their other reviews, you will see that some people have been charged multiple times or overcharged not to mention how rude they were treated at this MOTEL. Hilton really lowered their standards with THIS GUY. There are several other hotels in this very area so don't stay here. Fortunately, I was able to get my daughter a room nearby that night, but I did have to pay for two rooms because they charged me for the room they would not let her check into. read more

I contacted the hotel on 3/22 for reservations I asked the rates with AAA or VA discount. They refused to give me the discount chafing me $183 plus tax total $210.16, After speaking to several family members that had already booked rooms. I realized we had been overcharged. I called and asked for a supervisor and suddenly the rate came down to $134. This type of gouging is ridiculous. Stayed two nights recently for a wedding. Check in was frustrating as it took 3 trips to the desk to get functioning key card. I could live with that...however the 5 stink bugs I had to kill in my room and the total indifference from the front desk staff was unacceptable. They offered me another room...where I figured I'd have to just kill more bugs. Was then told the maintenance guy was going home for the night in 10 minutes and regarding the bugs was told, and I quote, "we're sorry but it happens". Staff is very friendly. The first room we got was dirty was smeared handprint on the wall and dirty socks left on the bed by the pillows. The floor also had dirt chunks all over it not looking like it has been vacuumed in a while. The second room we got the refrigerator did not keep anything cool and AC even though we set it to 71 did not keep the room cool at all have an open the window. Came here for a friend's wedding and had a fantastic time! Staff was very friendly, rooms were clean, food was good, and just had positive vibes all around. I stayed in a room that had a king bed. Some of the furniture is a little bit older, but that didn't bother me at all. The remote control for the television wasn't very responsive, may have needed new batteries or maybe was slightly broken. Nevertheless, the bathroom and room seemed clean, so I slept pretty well. Like most hotels, the gym is small, but it served its purpose. They have a bunch of free weights, 2 treadmills, and a couple of other machines. The treadmill I went on worked just fine. They also have a putting green and corn hole outside. My only complaint with the putting green is there was one hole that was messed up. The cup within the hole was coming out of the ground, so you couldn't really put on that particular hole. In addition, my key card did not work on one of the doors. It worked on a different door, so I believe something was wrong with the card reader on that particular door. For the rehearsal dinner, they apparently made the food on premise. They had garlic bread, house salad, pasta, vegetables, and chicken, and a variety of pastries. Everything was tasty and fulfilled my hunger. All the food seemed to be cooked just right. There was also plenty of it for everyone. I probably ate too much. The wedding ceremony was outside in front of a pond. It was a beautiful setting with beautiful people. They have a brick walkway that leads to pond. It was a great environment with terrific weather. The dinner and cocktail hour were terrific. The particular room we were in for dinner and dance has a capacity of 100 people, but there was definitely plenty of space, decent size dance floor. Salad could have used a little bit more dressing, but certainly not a big deal. Salmon was very good along with the mash potatoes and zucchini. There is no complimentary continental breakfast at this hotel. You have to pay $11.99 for the breakfast buffet. Some hotels offer the continental breakfast which would have been nice, but oh well. All in all, it was a spectacular time here. Great venue, great weather, good food, and most importantly, great people! read more

Stayed here for a wedding weekend and wasn't disappointed. The staff accommodated all of the out of town wedding guests in many different ways throughout the weekend. The staff was also helpful with extra keys and information about the wedding and area It is located in a great place with shops and restaurants right across the road (which takes a while to each with tough Jersey left turns)! Also a convenient liquor store across the road as well. The breakfast isn't complimentary, it is 11.95 and is pretty standard with the exception of fresh eggs and omelettes available to order. The wedding party also had a brunch on Sunday that was held in a banquet room which was set up nicely and had a great choice of food, coffee, and juices. Great weekend and happily surprised with the service of the hotel staff. read more

BEWARE OF EXTRA CHARGES!!! STAYED 7/28-7/30 I reserved two rooms at this property for a a 2 night stay. Hotel and rooms clean, customer service at the property was great. I had room 205 & 221. Room 221 had a crappy view of the utility pipes on the roof and the fridge did not work. I went to the front desk regarding the issues with the room and they kindly switched my room out. I moved to room 421. MY ISSUE BEGINS.......At checkin I was told only the incidentals would be placed on hold for each room which should have been a total of $100 applied to my card. I noticed on 7/29 that the full amount of each room had been deducted from my card including the incidentals, which I had no problem with. At checkout on the 30th I stated the full amount of each room was already charged to my card, and was then told that was correct, and the incidentals would be coming back within a few days. I discovered on the 7/31 that my bank account was overdrawn because the property then RECHARGED my card again for the rooms. I contacted the property. I spoke to Robbie, he stated he did not see the charges that I was speaking off. I then asked to speak to a supervisor or manager and was told there were no supervisors or managers at the property and I needed to wait until Monday when they returned. I found this very unprofessional on many levels not to have either a supervisor or manager at the property. I then asked for the corporate phone number. I called 1800-445-8667. I spoke with Edward in the escalation department who was very rude. He placed me on hold while he contacted the property and came back stating they only see the one charge so nothing can be done. I then became upset explaining to him that I am not making this up. He then raised his voice telling me to calm down and then hung on me. I called right back and spoke with Sam who was great. I explained what happened with the previous representative I spoke to and then told him the reason for me calling. I am very upset that my account is now overdrawn because of these extra charges and will now be incurring fees from my bank because of this.. My card should've only been charged $646.10 excluding incidentals. Now I have a pending withdrawal balance of $1080.80. Along with calling I also emailed the escalation department with screenshots of my of my account showing the charges as well as the overdrawn amount caused by them. read more

We had a terrible experience - certainly not what we expected from a Hilton hotel.. The hotel reeked of a very bad odor. When brought to the attention of the staff, they explained it as chlorine from the pool, but it smelled like leaking natural gas - the "rotten egg" smell It caused eye and respiratory irritation to both of us. The "handicap accessible" room was at the far end of the hall, opposite from the location of and farthest from the elevator. I would not consider the bathroom in the "handicap accessible" room ADA compliant, or maybe was just minimally so. I fell in the bathroom because there was no railing to hold on to, and hit the tile floor. The staff was nasty, unhelpful and rude. None offered to help two handicapped guests with their luggage cart. They claimed the hotel was at capacity, and only had one staff member on duty. At check-in, one member of the staff told me "no dogs are allowed," despite the fact she could see my service animal was wearing the proper ADA compliant "service animal" vest, and I showed her "service animal identification" credentials (although ADA regulations specify that I am not required to do so). Whenever I asked for a staff member's name, they removed their name tags and refused to talk or help in any way. The general manager, Thomas Freyre, was particularly rude. When I said something about writing a bad Trip Advisor review, he claimed that I was threatening him, and when I muttered that he must be suffering from a "Napoleon Complex," he said that was another "threat," and could call the police for making a threat (about writing an unfavorable review?). I then threatened to call 911 for him! All in all, it was a terrible experience from check-in to check-out. read more

She may want to take a 'how to have difficult conversations' training and also learn how to hold her staff accountable. The room was average. The biggest issue was the shower. Yhe water would not drain out the tub. I called the front desk to fix it while I was out of the room that night. When I took a shower in the morning the water still didn't drain. I had to stand in my own shower water again. I was not happy also the water was lukewarm. PLUS you get to miss the hotel entrance on the first visit which may be the most excitement you'll have in this part of the Garden State. Basic room with a decent ergonomic chair. The business center has a small room with two PCs and a printer. Last week the temperature inside the room had to be approaching 85 degrees so you could head down there in a swimsuit and pretend you're in a sauna. The orange from the bowl at the front desk was a few months old and had no more juice to it than a walnut would. I thought (wrongly - my mistake) that breakfast was included with the room price. It's not. But $8.95 or so gets a freshly cooked omelet and assorted breakfast meats and treats. read more

Not so much. Closet doors were off the tracks and difficult to open. Refrigerator door was difficult to open. Two lights also needed light bulbs replaced. Our high school reunion was here in there outside patio/ inside area. We paid 75$ pp for the event which included open bar , appetizers , a small buffet, cookies and coffee. First of all there wasn't many appetizers at all but I let that slide because we were going to have food inside the other area. Open bar was good but closed 1 hour before the event ended and if I'm being technical it closed before the 1 hour because we went to get drinks and it was cash bar before that. The food inside was 2 types of pasta , fresh meat being cut, mini slider, mashed potatoes, salad and bread. The food was out maybe an hour and they started to take it away. It just seemed way too fast that they took the food away. And there wasn't even that many options. Cookies were good but coffee tasted terrible. The space was very pretty with nice ambiance and a fire pit outside. I just think overall for what we were charged the place lacked a bit. I can see it being very pretty for weddings and events I just think the way the food is and such you really should be able to enjoy for longer read more

They "lost" my entire block of rooms for My wedding including the honeymoon suite booking for my wedding night. No apology, nothing. I booked this back in January and it is now July and the way I found out about this? My invitations were now sent out and everyone is calling for a room and they're telling them there is no room block. They can't even give me an explanation and are now expecting me to jump through hoops to fix their negligence. I am so upset!!! Update: I was put into a suite that wasn't even big enough to incorporate everyone that would be there the morning of my wedding for hair and makeup. The wallpaper was peaking off the wall and the ceiling had been recently patched and left unpainted. My guests had such problems booking and getting their rooms that weekend too. For a Hilton it was just extremely disappointing. It wasn't worth the money I felt we all paid just for the Hilton name and not the service. On a very busy Sunday night when there were many weddings in town the bartenders "Felicia "was able to stay longer than necessary to help customers out and be more attentive than normal. Great Food and Conversation. My wife and I took our son and his friend to New Jersey this weekend to go to Six Flags and we stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Hamilton, NJ. Beautiful hotel with all the amenties. All the staff members were friendly and helpful. Our favorite staff member was Michelle the bartender at the hotel's restaurant, The Garden Grille and Bar. We enjoyed great conversation with Michelle while we sat at the bar for dinner. After a long ride to New Jersey, we relaxed with a couple cocktails and then ordered our dinners. I had the Tomato and Basil Bisque. I was blown away by the flavors the chef developed in that simple but very delicious soup. My wife had a Grilled Sirloin Steak served with mashed potatoes and grilled veggies. She said she hasn't had a steak that good in a while. She cut into it so quick that I didn't have a chance to take a picture of her dish. I had Grilled Salmon with grilled veggies over wild rice. There was a picture of my dish hanging in the elevator and it sold me. It was excellent. The following night after Six Flags, we had dinner again at the hotel restaurant. More great conversation with Michelle. As well as, Chicken Francaise for my wife and Grilled Tuna for myself. I wanted an after dinner cordial and Michelle found the bottle of Black Sambuca for me. Apparently, people in Jersey don't drink black sambuca that often. But they had a bottle on the top shelf waiting just for me. If you're ever in Hamilton, NJ, have dinner at the Garden Grille and Bar. Or better yet, have dinner and then stay the night at the Hilton Garden Inn and wake up to have their full breakfast buffet. read more

Stayed one night for business last week. Waited at front desk for at least five minutes before someone showed up to check me in, as they appeared very busy with a group dinner in the lobby. None of the machines in the fitness center worked. One of my remote controls did not work. Lovely property with nice outdoor area and some thoughtful touches like mints in the room. read more
