The room was fine, roomy, okay view, but I was not happy with Lilly's service. Lilly who checked me in told me to go the wrong way to the parking garage and the wrong way to my room. I even asked her twice on each to confirm where she was directing me. She pointed to her left down the hallway and said that was the way to the elevators. She didn't tell me that there were TWO sets of elevators and the ones she sent me to was the exact opposite direction that didn't have my room # listed at all. I went up to the 4th floor anyway to give it a try and the maids said I had to go down to the lobby and take the elevators on the north side instead. Before that, Lilly had me waiting in the Honors line for a long time. I was waiting so long that the other lady at the front desk (very professional taller lady, looked maybe Asian) had to tell Lilly to help me bc I had been waiting there. When Lilly realized she left me hanging there she didn't apologize or anything and just decided to have a casual conversation with a co-worker before acknowledging my turn after I'm already standing in front of her . She also took such a long time on my reservation and tried to charge me full price and taxes and incidentals and $47 parking for an already billed out room. Oh which she didn't apologize for that either when I pointed it out to her and just said: "I see what you're saying". She didn't thank me for being a Diamond Member. She didn't tell me waters were in the room. I went to the shop and asked if waters were in the room and she said I didn't know so I bought drinks and snacks in case. Ludivina C charged me $49.78 for it and said she couldn't give me an itemized receipt when I asked bc she "already closed it out." I literally turned right around and asked for the receipt almost immediately after my purchase. The room is fine. It is roomy and the view is decent. It's NOT of the golf course. I'm a golfer staying on a golf course and a Diamond member but no view of it. Not happy she didn't even apologize for sending me the wrong way to my room just claiming she didn't know my rook wasn't that way.

Nice lower foyer/salon area for conference/event space

We attended a reception here last night for a professional business conference mixer. The setup was in a downstairs foyer area with a patio and views of the water. It was a wonderful setup. The event had an open bar with beer or wine choices and well made Hor D'ourves. Some included: Fresh Shrimp Spring Rolls, Tempura Shrimp, Beef Wellington minis, 2 charcuterie boards, and about 3 other delicious choices. The evening was a quick 1.5 hour mixer and it was great. The restrooms were very well cleaned and maintained. I went upstairs to sit in the lobby at the end of the event. Because it was at night, I could not see the view of the ocean nor cliffs, but I was able to see the pool at night. My only advice to Hilton is that this place needs some updating/sprucing up. I know that it is a couple of weeks after The Farmers Open, but it's time to make some moves before the Spring Break families and singles come to stay.

What a beautiful property! Seems a little old but well maintained. I came for a conference- wifi worked well. The staff was hit and miss. Some people that might have been around for a while didn't seem to have the warmth. The food was good. Some of the staff talked and made me feel at home. The sunset and views - glorious! The parking lot was smelling a little. Clean and large rooms.

I stayed here one night bc it was convenient, and I am a Hilton Diamond member. There were positives and negatives, but the negatives were too much for me to give more than 3 Stars. Positives: Excellent customer service. Fabiana checked me in and I was thankful my room was ready early. She upgraded my room, asked me whether I wanted points or a food & beverage credit, gave me two waters and two drink tix. Contrast the foregoing warm welcome vs my negative stay at the Conrad at Resorts World in Vegas (also a Hilton property): I received none of the foregoing at the Conrad, although I am entitled to all of them; Big room; Located adjacent to Torrey Pines golf course; Negatives: Issues w/ the gym. First of all, this is a big property, but the gym is tiny for a place that charges a $36 resort fee. Secondarily, my room key wouldn't open the gym door. No one inside seemed willing to help, so I walked upstairs to get a new key. However, the new key didn't work either. I banged on the door the second time, and got someone's attention. There was one bench and someone was using it. So I started to adapt the one weight machine for chest workout. Then some guy says he was using that machine: Last time I saw you, you were on the phone. Then he says he was on the phone for 30 sec (more like 2 min+). I hate people w/ shitty gym etiquette, esp when the space is limited. The guy on the bench wasn't much better. He hogged the bench for at least 30 min; Other negatives: $47/night self-parking fee; Dated decor; Most rooms are far from the elevators due to the odd design of the hotel; Although having a decent gym is important to me when traveling, I would stay here again despite the shitty gym and rude guests. I'll try to stay here the next time I play Torrey Pines Golf Course.

To get the food, simply ask the host at the check in desk, BEFORE 9:00AM!! They'll hand you a cup and you can go ahead and go down to the viewing area to do so, a small-ish area recessed into a walk way around the base of the elevators. Very pretty! I really appreciate how spacious my room was. We had not only a living room type area with a desk/spacious table and wet bar space but we also had a mini refrigerator and microwave complete with a Keurig. In the living room area, the sofa could be flipped out into a sofa bed. That was perfect for my little one. She loves having her own bed now. We had a sliding door closet complete with various types of hangers, a luggage trolley and an ironing board. The bedroom had a nice king size bed. I really appreciate how little clutter there was on the bedside tables. A lot of times I feel like there's too much going on on the bedside table whether it be a combination of remote controls, additional outlets kinda like a surge protector type doo hockey, and other extensions as well as an alarm clock, the room phone, a notepad, the Bible, all the different things. I'm glad that these bedside tables only had one of those items on 'em. One had the alarm clock and the other had the room phone. That was it. That is literally all it needed to be. The room is very simple and clean. I love the ottoman that fits so nicely just under the TV stand combo dresser. I appreciate the natural light that comes into the bedroom. There are blackout curtain curtains, but it really is such a beautiful view outside. I really enjoyed watching the sunrise on one of the mornings that I was here. I don't know about you, but bathrooms are a deal for me. I appreciate the fact that this bathroom is nice and clean and comes complete with items like, conditioner & body wash, fixed to the wall of the shower. I also can appreciate that there is both body lotion and hand wash affixed to the wall of the area nearest the sink. One thing that my daughter was not fond of was the fact that the holder for the toilet paper seems so far behind the actual toilet seat that when you need it, you have to kind of contort your body to be able to reach it. The tub is tiny and rather narrow. The fixtures are pretty dated, but at least they work and aren't in disrepair at all. I'm not fond of shower curtains because of the amount of gross bacteria and things that they carry but well, you don't always have a say in these matters. I like much much more water pressure than I was getting here but again, nothing wrong with it but for my own personal preference, I like some seriously strong pressure. Breakfast is complimentary and actually provides a nice spread: made to order omelettes, waffles, pancakes, eggs, sausage, cut fruit (cantaloupe and honey dew), whole fruit (bananas and apples), yogurt (yoplait: peach, raspberry or strawberry) coffee, tea, juice, cereals, whole or 2% milk, hot chocolate, breads, pastries (muffins, danishes), oatmeal, roasted potatoes, and possibly more. Clarissa was our FAVE dining assistant, sorry I'm not quite sure if her position or title. She is so sweet, helpful, efficient and even recognized us each time after only having helped us once during breakfast before. awesome staff: Clarissa (food service) Analyssa L. (Check in) Swimming pool situation in May 2026: The pool is indoor and heated. I believe it opens around 8 or 9am. It closes nightly at 10:00pm for the kiddos. It remains open til midnight for adults. There is a jacuzzi just outside the pool, like you actually have to go outside for it. It's nothing huge but it is nice to have that outlet away from the indoor pool craziness. The one HUGE problem that I had with the pool facilities were the lack of attention paid to the restrooms as well as the pool deck area. Sure there were plenty of signs to point out the wet surfaces and possible fall risk but considering the floor wasn't just a little wet, you'd think that some sort of other type of mats might be used, partly to increase traction but also partly to wick away water or absorb some of it. The restroom is nice because of the available showers, handicapped accessible as well. But again, I nearly fell and probably would've cracked my head open had there not been the whole ass sink for me to grab on to. Whew. Even worse, I was wearing tennis shoes when this fall almost happened. Sheesh!! (So this is the main reason for my one less star review, 4 instead of 5) Pls pay attention to the pool areas more! Towels are being unfortunately left all over except in the appropriate receptacles. Send an associate in here every once in a while. It can't hurt. In fact, it might help prevent an accident even!! Warning: parking is $46/night to self park (No other option really)

The room is really nice and it's spacious, but the bed is so uncomfortable that I woke up with a backache and neck ache. The parking is also super weird. They have a 3 story parking garage, but the way you enter is also the way you exit, so if you park on the 3rd floor and you're trying to drive out, there could be someone driving in and you guys are stuck staring at each other on who should move. Next, the parking structure has no elevator so you have to take the stairs down or up. That's never an issue, but I start thinking of my 81yr old mom and if she was with us then how would she be able to climb up or down. Also, the room I stayed at room 812 the toilet is super far from the toilet paper wall thing that holds the toilet paper. Unless you're Mr. Fantastic then I'm sure you have to get up and walk over to wipe your butt. I've never seen anything like that at any hotels or motels we have ever stayed at, so this was a bit weird to me. I didn't get to eat their "continental breakfast" because I was still getting ready, but my husband and my youngest son went to check it out. They said it was okay, the buffet was mediocre and the sausage didn't have color and it looked boiled. They both said the best food they cooked was the potatoes. They grabbed me a coffee and that was good, it was brewed fresh. They had cereal and pastries and some other items. Anyway, this is a very nice hotel, just a few things to look out for if you're gonna stay here. One cool thing is they gave us a $20 credit to use on our first day, we didn't need anything so we just got some bottled drinks in case we wanted it later or the next day.

There is a large lawn area where a reception can be held. We didn't get to try the pool or hot tub though. We also didn't get to try their gym as it's also provided to their guests. There is a breakfast and dinner restaurant inside the main building. Our room was on the first floor in the back area of the hotel. Oh and by the way, you have to pay parking to have a car parked here. Make sure you are aware of this fee. It's pretty expensive. The layout of the room was like any other hotel stay. Lots of light. Nice wood shutter blinds but some were broken. We asked for a king size bed but we got two queens. That's fine by me but it would be nice to get what we asked for. The two queen beds room was a little cramped but I think if it was a king bed room, there would be more space and hopefully a bigger table. We would ask to move to another room but we just stayed and tolerated it as we were not here for pleasure. Pillows are way too soft; even if I use 4, I am sinking. The table to use if you needed to eat or work on is small but there is plenty of outlets, and usb A and C plugs, too. The faucet and showerhead are old fixtures. It was hard showering as the water barely came out so you have to change the setting to the hard middle massage spray to get more water. It's time for an upgrade now. Towels were plenty and clean. There is a mini frig and microwave to use. They offer free coffee and tea but did not use. There are water bottles for purchase but you have to pay $2ea. First time we came in our room, there was a surprise for us. There were two bugs we found in the bathroom and by the frig. A good size, too. The same for the next two days. It's probably from all the tree and plants in the area but it must be coming in from somewhere. We made sure our luggage and bags were closed. The hotel and bed sheets were clean but you can tell this hotel is old. Time to update the interior of the rooms. This hotel would not be my first choice but I did love the surrounding area as there is plenty of places to eat walking distance. This is also close to the Westfield LaJolla mall. The price per night is not worth it for me but we didn't pay for it. [107R,2025]

Dated but a very nice stay…read more.. Many of the residence inn's we have stayed at are showing their outdated interior decor, but they are well kept overall. I think there was popcorn ceiling and very textured walls. The spaces are big and very roomy for two people and would work well for 4 people. This property has some two-story units with loft via A-frame top floors. Dad's room had a wood burning fireplace. This property is large. Rooms have a sofa bed, big TV, King bed, full kitchen, two bar chairs and table off kitchen, desk. The counter in the bath is big for storing all your toiletries. The toilet is tiny and "old skool" shortie McGhee vs. chair-height. And this space is tight with the shower. The pillows are not the best for neck support, but I have seen worse in hotels. The TP is good enough and at least not transparent. The included breakfast is "too legit to quit". Nice oatmeal with a ton of quality options for additions. All the usual suspects and bacon, quality eggs, fruit, yogurt etc. The horseshoe shaped dining space is very large which is needed for such a large property. There is a semi-busy road above the property, but we were located just beneath it and had no road noise, and I am not a sound sleeper. I would definitely ask for a top floor unit if you want less noise. My dad had a family with 3 young kids above him. Fortunately, there gazelle running was for a nominal duration. Plus, with his mobility 1st floor was the only option. STAFF are very friendly and helpful.

Where do I even start? Be sure to look at my pics too. Okay, it OLD and smells OLD. It's like an old apartment complex they bought and turned it into some 1 spacious bedroom hotel rooms. They need to shut this down and remodel everything! And clean and paint these damn buildings. Have you ever heard of $10 per out if you check in before 5 o'clock? Well they do that here! Have you ever seen a street basketball goal at a hotel? Well it's one here that looks like it was here when they bought the apartments. Lol. Oh and don't get dropped off by your uber when checking in because you might get room in the back and have to walk your luggage down the street to your building lol. This place is horrible. If I wasn't on a company paid trip and I didn't want to deal with the paperwork I would have checked out and went somewhere else! It honestly feels like some people may live here lol. Oh they do wheel out a beer cart Monday-Thursday for free beer haha. And I saw a picture of food. There is definitely no food here! They have a breakfast but from the smell of my room I wouldn't eat here. Again everything just feels old. Feels like I'm staying in a bad Airbnb.

The entire facility was beautiful, spotless, and very well maintained. Our room was clean, comfortable, and exceeded our expectations. We had dinner at A.R. Valentien, where our waiter, Ryan, and the entire staff were attentive, welcoming, and provided outstanding service. The food was absolutely delicious, light, fresh, and beautifully prepared. We also enjoyed breakfast at The Grill. My 9-year-old son absolutely loved the pancakes, while my husband and I both ordered omelets that were incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked. Every meal we had was excellent. One of our favorite parts of the stay was relaxing by the pool and enjoying the gorgeous views. The hotel also made the Fourth of July extra special for families by hosting a fun celebration with crafts, cookies and lemonade, cookie decorating, and kites for the kids to fly. Our son had the best time, and we loved the warm, family-friendly atmosphere. The valet staff were also wonderful: friendly, helpful, and always greeted us with a smile. This was truly a memorable stay, and we can't wait to return next year. If you're looking for a beautiful hotel with exceptional service, delicious dining, and a welcoming family atmosphere, we highly recommend staying here!

The manager Isabel went above and beyond to make me feel special and I truly did. All the staff were so kind from the moment we walked in and made us feel right at home. Shortly after getting to our room, Isabel sent a charcuterie board, chips with salsa and guac, and a sparkling non alcoholic cider to the room with a very sweet note. It was incredibly thoughtful and so appreciated. After that we all had a very relaxing time at the spa, and I had a great prenatal massage. As we were leaving the spa they gave me a little goodie bag as a congratulations which made my heart melt. The rooms were so cozy and clean and the beds were very comfy. We all woke up refreshed the next day and some of us even made it to yoga! I am so grateful to have had my babymoon here and grateful to Isabel for truly making it an experience I'll never forget. We loved it so much my friend bought my baby a little Lodge at Torrey Pines onesie from the gift shop! I have since had my baby and every time she wears it, it reminds me of our great weekend at the lodge. I now recommend staying here to all of our friends. Best birthday stay ever!!…read more When I first arrived, I was nervous because I haven't booked a place this fancy before and used Chase Travel to book for the first time. The staff immediately put me at ease and made me feel welcome. Lorenzo greeted me at the front desk and said happy birthday. He also gave me some free drink vouchers to use at the hotel restaurants and upgraded my room! The room was so big and clean and relaxing. My boyfriend has really bad insomnia but he said he actually slept great! I let him sleep in while I explored the hotel cafe and lounged on the balcony. There was a few parties and events going on that day (June 25th) but we couldn't hear a thing, at all. Our suite had a huge soaker tub and a huge shower that came in clutch, they even have complimentary bath salts and all the soaps! If you want more, they sell nice stuff in the gift shop, too. We also went to the cafe for breakfast burritos and coffee and both were a great way to start our day. Highly recommend staying here for a celebration. I felt like royalty and would love to come back. Shout out to Lorenzo and the team!

I booked a staycation on a Sunday, which happened to fall on Father's Day, using my Amex Platinum…read more Overall it turned into one of my favorite staycations I've had. With the Platinum perks, early check-in and late checkout are often available, but because it was a busy holiday weekend, they couldn't guarantee early check-in. They suggested coming in early and waiting by the pool until a room was available. Parking was easy: self-parking was around $46 per night with valet adding $10 more (roughly $56 total). Self-parking is only a short walk from the entrance so it wasn't inconvenient at all. Check-in itself was quick. The front desk staff provided a property map, and once I got to the room and dropped off my things, the whole resort honestly felt like walking into an oasis. The grounds are beautifully maintained and genuinely stunning. The pool area was enjoyable, but very busy, especially over the weekend. A note for future guests: lounge chairs go fast. I went around 4:30 PM on Sunday and again around 2 PM on Monday and most chairs were already taken. We were able to snag some on Monday, and it helped that the umbrellas can be adjusted for more sun or shade. The pool had a lively feel with families and kids, all well-behaved and enjoying themselves. There's also a nice jacuzzi and a pool bar where you can order food and drinks, plus a solid selection of craft beer. Dinner at Mustangs & Burros was a highlight. The burger was excellent, and the guacamole is a must-order starter. I also used my $100 Amex hotel credit here, which was a plus. The room itself was cute and comfortable, though fairly simple. It had a shower rather than a bathtub. The mattress was on the firmer side for my taste, and I would have appreciated complimentary bottled water in the room, but it was easy enough to have some delivered via Uber Eats. Breakfast at Greenfinch was the most underwhelming part of the stay. The Amex Platinum breakfast benefit covered up to $60 for two, but the quality didn't quite match the rest of the property experience. On the plus side, the resort grounds are incredible. The butterfly sanctuary, botanical garden, and wishing tree add a peaceful, unique touch to the property. I did wish there was a clearer setup for the wishing tree notes, but it was still a charming feature. Overall, the stay was excellent. The service was consistently friendly and efficient, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the property itself is beautiful. Despite a couple of small drawbacks, I would absolutely return. This was an ideal San Diego staycation. One note for future guests: make sure to carefully check your final bill at checkout. I was accidentally double-charged for dinner, charged for valet despite using self-parking, and billed for breakfast. They initially said everything had been adjusted, but I later noticed I had paid for self-parking on my credit card and then again at checkout. One of the restaurant charges also wasn't removed. The staff member I spoke with was very friendly and quick to help resolve it, but it was still a bit frustrating to leave thinking everything was settled, only to have to take additional time afterward to correct the billing issues.

Review of La Valencia Hotel…read more I purchased a day pass here as someone who works in the hospitality industry and is always curious to experience new properties from a guest perspective--and La Valencia absolutely delivered. I arrived pretty early in the morning (optimistically expecting sunshine), but even with the typical coastal overcast, it didn't take away from the experience at all. In fact, I somehow ended up with the pool almost entirely to myself--in the middle of August, which felt like a hidden luxury. The setting is just beautiful. The views, the calm atmosphere, and the overall sense of escape made it easy to settle in and relax. I spent about five hours there and never felt rushed or overlooked. The staff, especially at the cabana bar, were fantastic--attentive, respectful, and genuinely pleasant to interact with. I ordered food and drinks throughout the day, and everything added to the ease and enjoyment of the experience. The only small downside is parking, which can be a bit tricky--but that's pretty standard for La Jolla. Overall, this was an incredible day experience and absolutely worth it. I'd do it again without hesitation.

Multiple social media searches told me this was the place to stay in La Jolla, so despite the…read moreexpense I decided to book a room for one night, my first night after flying into San Diego. I paid $500 for the room, arrived around 10 pm and had to check out by 11am, quick $500! There was a $45 resort fee, whatever that means. Still would love to know what that was for. Anyways, the bellhop guys were nice they gave me recommendations for where to eat and also helped carry my suitcase up to my room. The bedroom was small, really small and the view was of a back lot with dumpsters and the side of a building. Sure, the room was hip and funky and cool. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was small but functional. Listen the room was fine, but for $500...and this was a heavily discounted room because I booked through Hotel Tonight. Anyways, I walked the hotel at night and it was nice because I had the place to myself, the pool is really pretty at night, it's lit up, I recommend walking outside and having a seat on their comfy couches above the pool. In the morning I continued exploring the hotel and when I went to check out the dining room I was receiving unfriendly glances from the hostess or whoever she was. So much so that I stopped and asked if it was okay that I was looking around, to which she replied, "Well are you eating?" I said no and that I was staying here and just wanted to check out the view. I am a pretty average looking chick, was in work out clothes, maybe I didn't fit the high end clientele look and it seemed to bother her. Anyways, the people at the front desk upon check out weren't the friendliest either, seemed annoyed when I asked if they had change for the bellhop. The man at the concierge desk who I believe has a job of making sure everyone in the hotel is happy and having a grand time didn't even acknowledge. me the four or five times I walked past his desk. I felt unwelcome to be honest.

Hotel is in an area with a few walkable restaurants which is nice. Small gym. No microwave in rooms you have to go down the hall to the ice room. Rooms are dated but worst part was the noise. We were in room 237 & could hear every single footstep of the person above us. Not sure what this person was doing but they were pacing back and forth at all hours of the night. Also our toilet kept running. We were across from a supply closet which had people going in and out of it a lot. Not exactly peace and quiet. When we checked in we asked for 3rd floor but she said the only room was next to ice machine so it could get loud. I think I would have been better staying by the ice machine. It's also time for new pillows- they were awful. We stay here for work trips and it gets the job done.

Property is super dated as other folks mentioned, to the point where it almost looks dirty but I think that's just due to wear and tear. Had a pleasant experience with the staff. Room was old and outdated but bed was comfortable enough. Equipped with a tv and all the basic amenities. I love the free water bottles from the front desk and in the room! The courtyard and pool area was surprisingly nice but the gym was the size of a bedroom closet so don't plan on working out! A woman was stretching in the hallway! Overall not bad for a one night stay or such but wouldn't be my first choice.
