I just love this little market. I come here for the spices and oils to complete my recipes. They also carry Gopi products, which I also love. Although they don't have a huge produce selection, they usually have great specials. If I need help finding something they're always super friendly and helpful. I try not to bring my son with me because he usually finds something he can't live without, thereby adding to my bill at the checkout. Today he had fun chatting with the guy at the counter about Indian movies and music. This really is a great little store. It reminds me of neighborhood stores in Toronto that have a similar feel. read more

I've come here for spices, rice, oil, dal, and a few other specialty items my grocery doesn't carry. The prices are very good (less than 1/2 what you pay on Amazon) and the food fresh. I get my ginger there and it's fresh and big. (Just ask and they get it out of the fridge) same with cilantro. Yogurt is fresh and not expensive. The guys working the counter are always helpful and friendly, never making me feel unwelcome because I'm not Indian, they always ask what I'm cooking and are supportive of my efforts. The store is fairly well organized, the spices and dal especially so. They also carry other odds and ends. Good tea selection, my wife loves the Instant Chai. Nice big bags of rice, white and brown. There's incense, Lotto. Highly recommend. read more

I have been looking for an Indian store to purchase items on a list that my Indian Doctor for my kidney's provided me. This store was a one stop shop it had everything on my list and more. I had been to 4 different grocery stores trying to purchase all that I needed. I was going to buy on Amazon but the prices were ridiculous and not including shipping. Nice little place. We came here after seeing some coupons in the Get1Free catalogue advertising $2.00 naan pizzas and $1.99 dozen eggs and having a hankering to attempt saag paneer. They had a little bit of everything for such a small place. Lots of spices, seasonings, and curry mixes. We got everything we wanted, our coupons were accepted, and the guy was friendly. We bought $45 Indian spices worth of junk. We had to throw them away because it tasted like sand and they're not quality spices. Nasty fake spices. It's a rip off they're selling mini Indian inscent temple holder for $26 were in actual India cost less than $5usd. Glad we stop shopping here cos they profit too much. not good.. I dont even want to think about it. Nothing tasted fresh or real, just a big mush of over-cooked food. And what was up with the waiter? He took our food order but Im not sure he was a waiter...,he never re-appeared, not even once, another person brought the check, yet another person brought the food, and a forth person came by with bread. When in a pinch. This is a small grocery store which stocks up Indian and Nepalese food items and spices. So you get what you need in this part of San Diego. Unlike the Indian places in Mira Mesa area, they don't carry a lot of things. But the prices are ok and as long as I get my spice mixes for $1.99 I'm a happy camper. read more

While in San Diego, we visited this little store at the strip mall. It was very nice seeing something different for a change. It was a bunch of Indian influenced pre-packaged food such as spices, rice, dry garbanzo beans, kitchen items, small fresh food in the refrigerator and freezer too many to list along with all sorts of Indian influenced art knickknacks and trinkets. The gentleman behind the counter was very helpful and eager to please you with any questions that you may have. My wife and I noticed that he truly wanted to help us rather than being a phony just so that he can make a sale. The only thing that we didn't like and it's only because of the pandemic the isles are very narrow but not to worry if you plan on going in there because it's never super busy at one time. It's only a little hole in the wall with tons of influenced Indian art, food, ingredients whether they be prepackaged in plastic such as beans, rice, household goods, and bottled specialty foods and ingredients from India. The grocery was small but had items needed for South Asian dishes. As a Bangladeshi, it was nice to see products of the Bangladeshi brand PRAN in there. The sales person was nice and inquired a couple of times whether we were finding everything we wanted. You get big bags of Basmati rice, all major Indian/South Asian spices and great South Asian frozen snack items. Overall it was a pleasant experience! read more

Love this place, it's a great stop for all the random spices from the other side of the world that you won't pay ridiculous grocery store prices for!! I always find something here, there's a little bit of everything! It's a must stop for my houseguests when I get out of town company.
