North Park Produce in El Cajon is a grocery store and restaurant providing a variety of Mediterranean/middle eastern products and eats. AMBIANCE Compact, casual, community market SERVICE Self serve food area, check out at the cashier FOOD 5/5 KUBA HALAB: Similar to a croquette, this Iraqi dish is a fried, rice-based dumpling with a fragrant minced meat and herb filling. 4/5 KUBA: This tasted good as well, but a bit less fragrant with minced meat and nuts for the filling PARKING Plenty of well-spaced spots in the lot

I used to have one of these in clairemont years ago, so happy I got to visit this one! It's even better! It's jam packed with all your Arabic goodies and food. We stopped in to get lunch and everything I had was delightful and delicious. A very busy store but worth it to get some good food.

I ordered two shawarmas, and unfortunately both were very bad. I should have checked the boxes before leaving the store. The shawarma was burned, smelled like charcoal, and had no flavor. The hummus was terrible--it tasted like a dry, powdery product that was supposed to resemble hummus. Paying $9.99 for each shawarma was a complete waste of money. I also noticed the cook placing the bread directly on the countertop without clean paper underneath. That counter is usually wiped with a dirty cloth, which raised serious hygiene concerns. Lesson learned. I'm believe if I called to complain they would replace the food, but I'm already far away from this market, and if I were to complain to the County of San Diego Health Department, it would likely create unnecessary problems for the owner. Hopefully, this situation improves.

My go-to spot! They have three locations across San Diego: one in North Park, one in Poway, and one in El Cajon. The El Cajon location is my favorite, and I always stop by whenever I'm in the area for middle eastern groceries. They offer a deli section, fresh salads, fresh juices, a bakery, and even Maskouf fish, where you can pick your own fish for them to prepare.

I agree. The parking lot is kind of tight for the place. However, coming from Minnesota. I can't tell how cheap is the fresh produce compared to Minnesota. He Minnesota are used to pay $3.04 minutes here I pay $.33. Cucumber images what I pay two dollars, here I pay $.79. Even the cooked food like Kibby and the bakery is good. Minnesota you pay double. Onions are $.12, Minnesota it is two dollars!!!!! You can ask the baker to make your zaatar pie thin and they will do it for the same price so you're eating healthy minimum gluten food, with low calories, instead of the fattening sick bread. Some of the employees have these serious look others probably are not trained in five stars resort how to smile. But they do pretty job and they were not rude to me and to my wife the few times I visited.

In the past you use to be able to come here and get pretty good deals but that seems to be long gone. Came here could barely find a basket to shop for food. The produce seems to be pretty fresh. There are some hotspots here and there that some of the produce could be a little bit fresher, especially with the tomatoes and the avocados. The other fruit and produce seem to be pretty good. They do have a smaller section of organic produce that seems to be fairly stocked well but price a little higher than normal. The staff is always friendly here. I've never had any issues with checkout. The parking lot could be a little cleaner as there is a lot of homeless that are in the front of the store and on the side of it. They also have security so that's good. This is not my typical store that I would go to, but I have and will when I'm in a crunch.

Well, almost all health conscious, but those tempting bakery goods you see or even the chocolate bars of all kinds. But, they have something for everyone. I love how they are focused on offering Organic, Non-GMO, and health-based alternatives and supplements to their shoppers. I bought one of my favorite protein on-the-go and delicious heavy-duty packets where all you do is buy some milk and pour into the packet and shake vigorously, and you are on your way. It's protein packed with low sugar and carbs with yummy flavors to choose from. My favored is the chocolate, but apparently that is everyone's favorite as they did not have available. They only offered the Cookies and Crème which I selected today, and they also had Strawberries and Crème. I have to walk in and stick to my list or I can be easily sidetracked here and majorly tempted with so many flavor-packed foods they offer . I also was impressed because they have a Smoothie Bar which is situated right next to the Deli for all the Smoothie lovers. The also sell adorable gifts anytime you need that. And, of course beautiful bouquets of mixed flowers. As I said, they have it all! I am leaving happy and satisfies as usual!

Peggy was very helpful in my search for BB cream, which there's less options from what used to be available years ago. Great customer service. This store looks open and clean. You need a code for the bathroom, which is in the vitamin department. As soon as you walk in, there's a beautiful flower/plant display. The produce department looks nice and vibrant, with organics available. The bulk department is great for nuts, trail mix, dried fruits, chocolate and snacks. I picked up some Sovereign Silver Colloidal Silver spray, dermae moisturizer and day cream and Burt's Bee BB cream. We also picked up some cottage cheese and nuts.
