We were greeted and sat immediately upon entering at 6pm. There were still a few tables available. The interior is sparsely decorated, but what hits you right away upon entering is the mesmerizing aroma of Indian spices simmering away. Per our server's recommendation , we had the fried momo and Manchurian Chicken 65. We loved the Chicken 65. We were expecting a thick coating of batter, but that wasn't how they were prepared. When I think of deep fried, batter usually comes to mind. We hadn't had this dish before, so we were pleasantly surprised there was no batter, which is how we prefer deep fried items to be. The chicken was juicy and tender. Neither of us preferred the momo. They were kind of just a one note flavor and the texture was a bit spongy. I had the chicken vindaloo and hubby had the goat jalfrezi. Both were delicious. We ordered a spice level of 5 out of 10. It was perfect for me, but hubby had sweat beads popping out all over his head. He didn't mind it though. The spiciness didn't deter from the taste of the protein. The only ding I would give them for service is that our finished plates were never cleared despite several visits to our table by the servers. Oh my comfort food at its best I had tasted my daughters as she has become a fan of recent - I just ordered what she has had ... tiki masala #2 and coconut curry #2 and naan bread - I think next time I'll do a 3 in CC but it was delicious. Excellent interior, but I did take my order to go. My Samosa Chaat was delicious, but they do leave cardamom seeds in the dish, so you may get a flowery explosion of flavor if you don't notice them. What a treat to find an Indian restaurant in Pocatello! We went early on a Saturday night. They weren't that busy yet and we were having trouble deciding what to get. Not That we weren't familiar with what was on the menu - we regularly eat Indian food - but that they had quite a selection to choose from. The owner suggested that I try the coconut curry. But first we ordered chicken samosas and vegetable samosas. I personally did not care for the chicken samosas. They are flavored with star anise, which I don't like. But my husband and son liked them. The vegetable samosas were spot on and delicious and the accompanying tamarind sauce was as good as any I have had. They spice your entrée on a scale from 1-10 with 1 being mild and 10 being super hot. My husband ordered goat biryani (spice level 10). The portion was generous and contained a generous amount of meat. It was definitely spice because there were beads of perspiration on his head. I loved my lamb coconut curry(spice level 1). It was mild enough for my sensitive stomach and the flavor was amazing. My son ordered the chicken Tikka masala (spice level 2). It was mild and creamy. The naan was great. It was a bit thicker than others that I have had, so it was slightly soft and I loved it. The garlic naan was REALLY garlicky. I love garlic so that was OK, but just be aware - if you eat this, for sure there will be no vampires ANYWHERE near you. They kept our drinks refilled. The best part was when our son decided to look at the dessert menu and the owner helped him choose one. The Gulab Jamon was amazing. They brought it out with three spoons "just in case" and my husband and I each had one bite. I have never ordered it before because I really don't like things that taste like flowers. But it doesn't taste like roses at all. Idk where the Rose water is used, but I couldn't taste it. This dessert was incredibly delicious and I suddenly wished I hadn't eaten so much curry and naan. It was crispy on the outside, spongy on the inside, and deliciously sweet. I can't wait to have some again. If you have a chance to eat here - do it. You won't be sorry. read more
