Coconut Korma, Lamb Biryani spice level 10, buffet items

Our food was amazing! Everything we ordered was delicious from the Naan, to the Korma, to the Gulab Jamun for dessert! Our service was fantastic too! They were very accommodating and made us feel right at home. They helped us make menu decisions and were fun and hilarious as well! The restaurant was clean and has great decor. We loved our meal at Himalayan Flavor!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Excellent interior, but I did take my order to go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My Samosa Chaat was delicious, but they do leave cardamom seeds in the dish, so you may get a flowery explosion of flavor if you don't notice them. I also enjoyed their coconut curry chicken dish. Naan bread portion was very generous and tasty as well. Wish you'd open in Meridian or Boise. We need you here!

What a treat to find an Indian restaurant in Pocatello! We went early on a Saturday night. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They weren't that busy yet and we were having trouble deciding what to get.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not That we weren't familiar with what was on the menu - we regularly eat Indian food - but that they had quite a selection to choose from. The owner suggested that I try the coconut curry. But first we ordered chicken samosas and vegetable samosas. I personally did not care for the chicken samosas. They are flavored with star anise, which I don't like. But my husband and son liked them. The vegetable samosas were spot on and delicious and the accompanying tamarind sauce was as good as any I have had. They spice your entrée on a scale from 1-10 with 1 being mild and 10 being super hot. My husband ordered goat biryani (spice level 10). The portion was generous and contained a generous amount of meat. It was definitely spice because there were beads of perspiration on his head. I loved my lamb coconut curry(spice level 1). It was mild enough for my sensitive stomach and the flavor was amazing. My son ordered the chicken Tikka masala (spice level 2). It was mild and creamy. The naan was great. It was a bit thicker than others that I have had, so it was slightly soft and I loved it. The garlic naan was REALLY garlicky. I love garlic so that was OK, but just be aware - if you eat this, for sure there will be no vampires ANYWHERE near you. They kept our drinks refilled. The best part was when our son decided to look at the dessert menu and the owner helped him choose one. The Gulab Jamon was amazing. They brought it out with three spoons "just in case" and my husband and I each had one bite. I have never ordered it before because I really don't like things that taste like flowers. But it doesn't taste like roses at all. Idk where the Rose water is used, but I couldn't taste it. This dessert was incredibly delicious and I suddenly wished I hadn't eaten so much curry and naan. It was crispy on the outside, spongy on the inside, and deliciously sweet. I can't wait to have some again. If you have a chance to eat here - do it. You won't be sorry.

Great food. Very good service. We stopped on our way from Yellowstone to Salt Lake City airport. We ordered from the menu since buffet had few veg choices. We ordered nan, Chile and aloo gobi.

With that context, Himalayan Flavor stands as a solid option in Idaho Falls, particularly given the area's limited culinary diversity. This was my second visit, and consistency is a strength. The flavors are balanced and approachable, though clearly restrained--not only in depth, but also in heat. Even dishes marked spicy are calibrated toward local palates rather than delivering traditional intensity. That restraint feels intentional and likely explains the restaurant's popularity. The Malai Kofta (spicy) was the highlight, with crisp potato-paneer dumplings in a smooth, mild sauce. Garlic naan was fresh and well executed. The Gobi Manchurian was enjoyable but leaned mild, lacking the layered spice complexity and heat that define the dish at a higher level. Vegetable samosas were fresh and well made, though the pastry was noticeably thick relative to the filling, throwing off the balance. Service was professional, and well paced. Well run and reliable, but for experienced Indian-food diners, it lands just above average rather than truly memorable.

Disappointed. The wife and I have been too many restaurants in different cities and invariably…read moregravitate to this kind of cuisine. We tried the Coconut Curry with chicken, and the Rasmalai for desert. The curry was good but not soulful. The chicken was tender, but for $16.49 you got a lot of sauce to chicken, no vegetables and just rice. Now, the Rasmalai, a Bengal desert dumpling of sweetened soft, spongy cheese, for $5.49 was sadly overpriced and nothing to write home about. I attached a photo next to an 8oz mason jar. Please forgive me, but I really enjoy this kind of food, and when in a way prepared just so, can take your tummy to heaven.
