This was definitely the worst experience I have ever had at a mongolian bbq. Filled maybe half the bowl with sauces and it still tasted like absolutely nothing. Never had such flavorless food before. You also can't take the left overs home after spending 20+ bucks per person. The worker was also not happy to answer questions so that's a 1/10 on customer service. Like many places around Pocatello, it's not going to draw you in with the facade or fancy seating area, but if you want a great lunch for dinner on the cheap, come in! Sat down and ordered our drinks, then headed to the refrigerated tables to put together our bowls for the BBQ. Everything is kept cold and covered, which I haven't seen often in Mongolian BBQ (and I like it!) When we got back, soup, fried rice and an egg roll were waiting along with our drinks. The egg drop soup was a little bland, but the egg roll was very good. The bowl I had created, which was brought to our table a few minutes later, was cooked perfectly. And the fried rice was probably the healthiest I've ever had at any asian restaurant -- it just had the slightest hint of seasoning, not glistening in oil or drowned in soy sauce. Got there 15 minutes before the place opened, but she let us in and the food was mostly ready to go, so we went ahead and filled our bowls with fresh vegetables and frozen meats. I'm allergic to wheat and they had an option of rice noodles. I couldn't eat most of the sauces, but there was chopped garlic, chile sauce, sesame oil, and curry sauce. Lei's is amazing. The food is delicious and the prices are good. The buffet is the best part of the restaraunt but their menu items are very good as well. My wife will order the sweet and sour chicken, it is real grilled chicken with no breading. Very good and healthy. I recommend not getting a glass of water during your visit, it is terrible. Get a soft drink or hot/iced tea. The building is a run down mess and the surrounding buildings are just as bad. If you can get past the visual, the edible part is well worth it. read more

We love this Mongolian BBQ. They have so many choices available. They are very quick and the food is cheap. They start you out with an egg roll, fried rice and some egg drop soup so that when you get back from dropping off your bowl of food, you've got something to munch on while you wait. There is a salad bar which has everything you need to make a decent salad. My favorite thing is the sauces they let you use. There are about 20 different choices, so you can get something that tastes different every time. It is easy to make your dish spicey or mild to taste. My favorite is 2 ladles of house sauce, 2 of curry sauce, 1 of jalapeno, 1 of garlic, and 1 of the spicey sauce. It comes out with a great spicy flavor. With the huge amount of vegetables and then the different choices of meat, you can make a different dish every time you go. Not much else to say about them, it's great food at a great price. Give them a try! Keep them in business so that when we visit Pocatello, we can still go to one of our favorite restaurants! read more

This was a major disappointment. Definitely the worst Mongolian restaurant I've ever been to. All the food was so bland. Even though I used the sauces and put the appropriate amounts in, everything still came out very tasteless. I spit the soup back into the bowl because I physically could not get myself to swallow it. The rice didn't even look appetizing to me. And probably the biggest problem to me is that the woman has been on the phone the entire time. So she's unable to fully focus on us and she even got my drink order wrong when we are the only people here. I'm also worried about getting food poisoning from this place. I feel like they would fail a health inspection I would skip this place and opt for another option if I were you. read more

I've probably been to 8-10 mongolian restaurants and this is the worst. The veggies are from ok-fresh and all appear to have been frozen and some are still frozen. I had two bowls and the first one I put 4 scoops of the sauces as recommended and the second I put in about 6-7. Both times, I didn't taste much flavor but even more disappointing is the quality of the beef, pork, chicken. I think the reason for the great reviews must be based on the price as $8.50 for all you can eat dinner is a deal. For those that would pay more for quality, skip this place. read more

Lei's is a very bare-bones Mongolian BBQ, but the vegetables are always fresh and the price is right. They have a menu, but I've never had anything other than the Mongolian bar. But I get the food and it's just like eating plain unseasoned meat flaps with raw basic veggies, I ate the heck out of the noodles cuz you can't really mess up noodles I guess. But the food prep was sub par at best, better off eating at panda any day of the week. Then the chef has the nerve to come up to me and tell me to not waste so much food next time... coming at me like I'm the one charging premium price for raw uncooked veggies and burnt beef. My husband and I LOVE Lei's. It is my favorite Mongolian BBQ place I've ever been to. The service is fine. The lady is a little too reserved, never talks, but I think that's probably more cultural than anything else. You get egg drop soup, an egg roll, and rice right off the bat and their choices for your BBQ bowl are good. The place is a little run down, but I've never felt like it was dirty. The few times I've gotten soda there it hasn't been very good. Idk what's wrong with it but it tastes funny and often I feel like it tastes like a suicide drink (when you mix the sodas.) price is fair and everything has always tasted delicious. The prices are more than fair, the owners are extremely friendly and the restaurant is very clean. They offer a wide selection of fresh vegetables and the choices of sauces is second to none. Leis Mongolian B-B-W is by far the best Mongolian restaurant I have ever been to. Basically this is how it works they sit you down and take your drink orders, then you go and get your noodles and whatever vegetables you would like. You then have your choices of sauces to pick (I would recommend following the sign rather than creating your own). Also, make sure you add a scoop or two of the lemon sauce, it really brings out the flavor of the noodles and the other sauces. After that they grill your noodles for you, and while you wait you are brought fried rice, an egg roll, and eggdrop soup. Also you have your choice of whether or not you want to get the salad bar. The noodles are absolutely to die for though. It is a lot of food for a reasonable price. If you have not been there I would recommend trying it out. read more
