The dining room is open!!! It didn't say it was on yelp, so we were happily surprised to realize it was open for indoor dining. We were so happy to find this restaurant on yelp. The food was delicious, flavors amazing and the service was great! AND they have several great vegan options, which seems rare in Pocatello, from what we could see. Highly recommend this place! I got the lamb masala. The flavor and tenderness was just incredible. The servers were sweet and precious, they never let me/my sister's water get below halfway full. Start with the Gobi Manchurian(deep fried Cauliflower in a delicious zesty garlic red sauce)or Chicken chili(chicken and veggies in spicy chili sauce) off the appetizer menu. Then for your meal my favorite is the lamb Jalfrezi, but Tiki masala, coconut Korma, etc.... Heck I have tried almost all of their entrees and you can't go wrong with any. We stopped by Himalayan Flavor while traveling from Oregon to Montana and ordered ahead online. The food was done by the time we got there and was the best Himalayan food we've ever had. I've had Indian food before. But this place I believe was one of the best I tried. One of my guys had the curry lamb I got the butter sauce lamb. My other guy went with the butter sauce chicken ( he's too chicken to try anything but ) the food though was quite tasty. One thing I did notice though Indians much like Thai have a hard time spicing things between mild and hot on a scale of 1-10 1 being mild and 10 being hot at many of these places I'll ask for a 6 and end up getting a 1 that's ok it's still god food. We had a lovely meal last night, inexpensive, flavorful and filling. The service was a little erratic as we were first overwhelmed with folks wanting to take our order, including one who said she would be taking care of us, to later when we couldn't get water, check or boxes, especially not from the one who said she would be taking care of us, a person who disappeared very soon after her greeting. The menu was incredibly easy to navigate and we had a wide range of options, including vegetarian and goat. So, the atmosphere, food, menu, and people were lovely. Wow! We were traveling through from Carson City, NV to Montana and stopped for lunch in Pocatello, ID. I did a quick look at reviews of local restaurants and found this absolute GEM of a restaurant. The food is literally eye rolling! We ate the buffet and there was not one item that did not surpass any Indian cuisine I have ever tasted. Spicy, creamy, deliciousness in every single bite. I did wish there was at least one lamb offering - but enjoyed all the chicken and non-meat offerings so much. Even their salad was outstanding! I was simultaneously grateful and crest fallen that we had to drive away from this outstanding restaurant. On top of the dreamy cuisine we were given excellent service - so friendly and accommodating!! Wow! We are impressed! We had a big family reunion and only gave the staff at Himalayan Flavor about 2 hours call-ahead notice for our party of 45. They accommodated us with friendly grace! We had to wait a bit (completely understandable) as they laid out a delectable feast, buffet style for our sizeable group. Their competent, cheerful staff made us feel welcome. The food was DELICIOUS. We had the pleasure of tasting four different saucy entrees including chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, Paneer tandoori, and one whose name I can't recall but it had kidney-type beans in a savory sauce. These were to be ladled over rice, both plain and a very tasty biryani rice. I loved it all. The cheese cubes in the paneer tandoori were tasty. Other fun things we tried were the vegetable fritters, the potato crisps, yummy naan, a lovely lettuce and carrot salad, and a light saffron rice pudding dessert. It was great! I had my reservations about Himalayan flavor. The menu is quite large and previous restaurants in it's location have not done well. But yum! I always order chicken tikka masala when I try a new Indian restaurant. It is how a gauge the quality of the restaurant. Himalayan Flavor did not disappoint! Lots of quality chicken & a delicious cream sauce. They asked me to choose a heat level: mild, medium or hot. I chose medium & thought it was weak. But the flavor was fantastic! We also ordered the goat curry. It had a perfect balance of curry flavor that allowed the goat to shine. And the naan? Delish! Our service was fast and friendly. I'm always on the hunt for the best Chicken Tikka Masala, and Himalayan Flavor is tied with Cedars (in Seattle) for the best Chicken Tikka Masala dish!!! Way to go! Pros: -Friendly staff -Amazing food -Clean Cons: -Expensive. I don't eat much, so the high price for the buffet is not for me. Love the flavors and unique choices including goat dishes. The staff is always professional, friendly, and on top of things. However, during the last year the meat dishes now have 90% sauce and 10% meat. It's not more than a couple of pieces of meat in every dish. The lunch buffet is so delicious! It's well maintained and stocked full of several different curries. You order the Naan so it comes out fresh and hot. The staff is very friendly and attentive. This restaurant was great when it opened but the last few times we've ordered, it's been consistently bad. We ordered the goat biryani yesterday and right as we opened, it reeked of bad cooking oil. It turns out the fried onions that they had used were stale and the biryani was very oily. A few or our ordered items were wrong and to top it off, they ones that they got right tasted horrible. We obviously didn't eat the stale biryani, but the items we ate gave us the runs. Go here if you want old, stale food. read more

We visited the Pocatello location and ordered butter naan, butter chicken, sag paneer and basic basmati rice. We try to avoid onion in our meals and the chef and wait staff were very accommodating. We asked for mild spicy, and it came out just right - with just a hint of spice, but not too much. The sag paneer was a beautiful rich green with just the right mouth feel. The butter chicken - beautifully rich and tender. The basic basmati rice had cloves, cardamom and fennel - a perfect accompaniment. A really delicious find on our way through town with gracious and caring hosts in a spotless environment. read more

Great spot for groups. Just gave them a hour heads up and they had the place and food set up to our 11 people group. The place was clean and the atmosphere was ambient.
