Should be Kung Pao Chicken with Chow Mein. What it actually is-No Chow Mein but a lifetime supply of CELERY. A sludgy celery concoction along with extra celery in the Kung Pao in case you didn't get enough from the sludge. The food here is so amazing and the price is great.We can get one of the meals for 2 to go and it will feed our family of 4 at home. We have also dined in and they're very friendly and pretty quick on service but sometimes we have to wave if we need more water. We eat here all the time. read more

Their food is really good. We love the pecan chicken and the Mandarin chicken. Their chop. Suey is really good too. They will allow you to order the lunch specials in the evening, which is perfect for us as seniors. The smaller portion is perfect and the price fits our budget. The service is always really good. New Hong Kong is one of my favorite restaurants in town. The food is awesome, the service is amazing, the online ordering is easy, and the prices can't be beat. I have never had an issue with my food allergy restrictions nor special requests. They are friendly and greet me with a smile every time. The good, we didn't eat in house, I walked in, placed a to go order & waited. The person taking my order was very nice and I didn't have to wait too long. The bad; I ordered 4 items, 3 of them were just ok. One item ordered, a sweet-and-sour chicken, unfortunately was not good at all, the breading was hard & flavorless. In fact it tasted old, like it was leftover & re-warmed. The small pieces of chicken inside were also tough and chewy. And I agree with one reviewer who said, lighten up on the cornstarch. It was our first experience here & I usually give restaurants another chance, but we are visiting Pocatello so that won't happen. read more

It would be great if they could lighten up on the cornstarch for the sauce. Too thick and the noodles tend to stick together. Chicken Hong Kong special noodles was off-putting, sauce is thick and salty. The appetizer special with Rangoon dumplings was all cream cheese, sesame pork lacked flavor. Lunch special with Cantonese noodle and orange chicken, again too much sauce, starchy, breading on chicken too thick and lacked flavor. The perfect combo was a better choice but, all green peppers, not enough protein (shrimp), teeny-tiny scallops, we thought they were peanuts. read more

I travel a lot, and Idaho is a my favorite place to ski alone. This restaurant does the trick after a hard day on the mountain.

We've been eating there since 2002. I would say better than any other Chinese restaurants in town. I always look for something authentic but this place is the best I could find in Pocatello. read more

My wife and I have been looking for a good Chinese restaurant for a long time in Pocatello. We needed to do take-home, so our expectations were a little reserved, but we decided to try the New Hong Kong Restaurant. We were extremely happy with our choice. The lady who took our order told us to expect about a 15-minute wait which we didn't mind because we knew it would be fresh, It was worth every minute of the wait. The food was delicious, The flavors were spot on and the food was hot, even after taking it home. We could not have been happier with everything we ate. We will definitely go back. read more

Ordered a meal to pick up. They were easy to work with by phone and at pickup. They'll even come out to your car. I wish they would automatically include chopsticks since I forgot. Food was wonderful though and we will absolutely be back. read more

This was the worst restaurant I have ever been to. Chinese or anything else. Spam in the rice and on top of chowmein which had the hard noodles from back in the 60's. Slow service and there was only one other table with customers- should have been our first clue to run! read more

In my opinion it's the best Chinese food in Pocatello. Tasty food. Friendly service. Good portions (enough to take some home for seconds). Don't let the outside fool you. It's a dive! Clean and quaint. The prices are excellent for what you get. I would recommend this over the Mandarin House or other Asian food in town. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is the atmosphere and run down booths. Which I think is more consistent with a focus on the food. read more

Better than Panda (which isn't hard to succeed at), not quite as good as Changs...had some fried shrimp that were awesome!...steamed potstickers that were okay and some pan fried noodles with chicken and veggies I believe it's Cantonese style?...pretty good but the noodles were not so great (for me, you may like em). I ordered take out, I'm sure dine in would probably be better so I'll try that next time, maybe bump up to 4 stars...ive had a lot better but I've also had a lot worse, good place to go for some decent Chinese food, I'll be back for sure! We really like a dish or two from every Chinese restaurant. We love the chow fun, stir fried rice noodles that is lightly fried with your choice of chicken, pork or beef and bean sprouts!!!!
