Just wanted to update my review. After not being happy about his initial haircut Derek msged me quickly to try and fix it, even offered a refund. He was incredibly understanding and quick to reply. He was so patient with my son. I declined the refund, just wanted it fix. We went to a party were my son got so many compliments. Took my 4yr old Saturday to get a haircut and this is what we got I feel like it should be parted better right? I'm not barber but this doesn't look right. Went to a place with great reviews he did sit on my lap but he wasn't whinny or moving. The guy said we were done so my son got excited knowing we would be going to the store for a toy. $45 for this and a $50 bribe toy later... what a waste. service was really good, was treated with respect and it felt like a welcoming experience. The worst part is that the barbers don't know how to cut, I was expecting way more for $45 that they charged ,the barber I went to wasn't able to fade. You were clearly able to see the lines and it was horrible,not to mention they didn't cut anything off and was done with a full haircut in 10 min. Worst barber shop ever wouldn't recommend. It was my first visit to this shop and it was a great experience. It'd been months since my last cut and I basically had caveman hair. My barber/stylist was Julian. Need some quality control here on their barbers. I've been there twice and my first barber did a great job. Second barber respectfully had a good artistic vision but no technique. Left my hair looking like a lawnmower had gone through it. Didn't ask for anything complicated. Not really sure where he learned to cut hair. It's hard to say if I'll be back if anyone is just allowed to cut hair there. Update: I went back when I had more time and they were able to mostly give me the haircut I was looking for. I respected their customer service effort so I'm giving them 1 more star for the effort until I get another haircut. read more

So I've got an antsy 3 year old who has only had his hair cut in the kitchen. I wanted to get him used to coming to the barbershop so I decided to check out HIMC. I called first and they assured me that anyone could cut a child's hair. My son's hair is pretty kinky and it had gotten long, so I was a little hesitant but I brought him by anyway. Since I hadn't scheduled an appointment, Anthony told us to come back in a few hours. When we returned he was ready for us and my son hopped up in the chair! Since he didn't want to sit by himself, they allowed me to sit in the empty chair next to him. Anthony is incredibly patient! He even let my son hold the clippers and brushes so he could get used to them. The cut came out exactly as I requested and even my son was super pleased with his "big boy haircut"! Been going here for years now. Always a great vibe and barbers have the best customer service. It's mostly appointments but they do take walk ins if they have time. Best way is too book an appointment so your not waiting all day to get cut like other shops. Always have the shop clean, Always get you in when they have time, and every barber there are good. I've been here a few times and have always gotten really great service. We had an appointment scheduled with Derrick, unfortunately we arrived 10 mins late, that's ok, totally our fault due to traffic. Derrick said he couldn't take us because he had another appointment in 15mins. So another barber agreed to take us right after which was great. Unfortunately he didn't do as good a job as Derrick. I don't think these young barbers should be in a chair unless they're really ready. My son wanted a simple fade before his braids but the barber convinced him to get a taper instead, it's totally uneven and had large pieces still sticking out on the sides and the back.‍It was a total waste of $40+ tip as we will need to have it recut just to fix it. Oh and Derrick's next appointment never showed, I think his popularity has gotten to his head. We won't be back so it's ok. Oh and answer the phone! We tried calling to say we were running late but no one ever answers. read more

All the staff in the shop are super friendly and helpful. When I got there, they offered me a seat while I waited for my boys to get their haircuts. The shop is clean, neat and very inviting.
