I haven't got a hair cut in a long time. I usually cut my own hair at home. I just buzz it all around. I had to get cleaned up for my sister's wedding. I asked the Vintage Parkway Neighborhood page and they recommended this place. I got to the barber shop around 9:30am on a saturday and they had about 5 people in front of me. Ron I think his name is gave out numbered tickets so that you can come back later instead of waiting. The place is a barber shop. In and out. The barber who cut my hair was the taller man who had longer hair. A lot of people on FB recommended Ron. There was one customer that was waiting for Ron. The barber that worked on my hair took care of me. I didn't know what to do with my hair since it was short and i hadn't been to a barber in a long time. I let him do as he please with my hair. He cleaned me up real good. I was happy with the service. The barber that cut my hair chatted with me along with the customer before me. I'm a really shy guy and he made me comfortable enough to chat back with him. I was watching Ron and he was the same. It seems like they get a lot of regulars. Its a place you go where they know your name. I've seen them let customers use their restroom. They were just friendly. The decoration of the place has a lot of old school stuff which gives it a real barber shop feeling. They even have a old desk that reminded me of one I had as a kid. I'm a little skeptical when going to different haircut places. I'm not a young guy who needs designs on my head. I just need to look nice and clean. I don't want to go to a place that has hip hop blasting. Im in my thirties and I listen to rap etc...but those type of barber shops aren't for me. This place had sports playing just loud enough so we can still hear each other. Its also walking distance from my house. I've been to great clips in oakley before and its hard to carry a conversation with someone that is hard to undertand. I'm all about supporting local business and I think I'm going to start going to this place more often to support them and get cleaned up. Its always a good feeling when they remember you. I see it when they worked on other customers. When I was speaking with the barber he was telling me they get a lot of kids also. So I would assume this place is good for kids and adults. I know FB people said they took their kids to this place. The prices were fair to me. Only 13 dollars for a hair cut. They do offer beard services and a few more. But all manly stuff. If you want to get your eyes plucked you better ask your wife where she goes lol. If you need a hair cut give these guys a shot. They are local and a good bunch of guys. Tried liked hell to find a place for a cut. Normal place was closed before posted time, back up place closed before posted time, 3rd try said they take walk ins but when I walked in they said sorry can't take a walk in today, Center Barber was still open and, even though it was getting late and by taking me would make him get out well after he closed, he still took me in. That is very good customer service. Equal distance to my regular place so depending on cut maybe my new place. read more
