I would strongly recommend avoiding Blaise Alexander in Altoona if you're shopping for a vehicle. I purchased a car from them, and the very next day it started throwing multiple codes. Instead of handling the situation professionally, they've fought me every step of the way. After I left an honest Google review about my experience, I received a phone call asking me to remove it, with promises that they would "make things right." That never happened. In fact, things only got worse from there. While shopping for the vehicle, I had mentioned that I was interested in possibly working at a dealership someday. After they saw my negative review, they suddenly called me in for what I believed was a job interview. It quickly became obvious it was not a real interview at all -- it felt more like an attempt to intimidate or scold me over my review. Very little was discussed about employment, and most of the conversation focused on my complaints and online review. Using scare tactics against a customer over a review feels extremely sketchy and unprofessional. To make matters worse, when they told me to bring the car in for service, they admitted they had no Kia knowledge, no Kia diagnostic tools, and no proper equipment to even work on the vehicle. So why have me drop the car off in the first place? They ended up sending me across the road to Kia instead. Honestly, I'd recommend the Kia dealership over Blaise Alexander any day. The entire experience has felt shady from start to finish. When I expressed frustration over buying a vehicle that immediately had issues, I was met with attitude and backtalk instead of customer service. Damien, the salesperson who sold me the car, actually cussed at me multiple times on the sales floor in front of managers -- and it's all on camera. During the sale, he constantly talked badly about his own managers and dealership, saying things like "these guys know nothing" and telling me not to accept certain offers. At the time I thought he was being honest with me, but once problems started happening with the car, the entire attitude changed. They repeatedly threw it in my face that they "lost money" on the sale and acted like that somehow excused refusing to help me. That is not my problem as a customer. If you sell reliable vehicles, situations like this don't happen. I spent a large amount of money on a vehicle and expected basic reliability and customer service. Instead, I was treated like a problem for speaking up about legitimate concerns. Buyers beware -- this dealership does not stand behind the vehicles they sell, and in my experience, they use intimidation tactics when customers speak out. At this point someone higher than the local branch management needs to reach out to me! They also fake reviews BEWARE!!

They showed me one on their computer that I wanted to look at but then couldn't find it on the lot. They then said that it was getting painted. I went back and forth on text messages waiting for the car to be available to see and after multiple days I was told it would be in the next morning. I let the salesperson know that I was coming in to see the car the next morning. Then the I got a message that the car became available the night before and they sold it. VERY UNPERFESSIONAL I have done business at the Blaise Alexander in State College and never had a problem. I will never go back to the one in Altoona, it is poorly run. I then went to another dealer and purchased 2 cars for my kids.

They were unable to diagnose or repair the issue in-house and subsequently sent the vehicle to the nearest dealership. At the time, I was expected to work near Detroit, which became impossible due to the breakdown. I was provided a loaner vehicle--a Chevy Impala with worn tires during winter conditions--despite the possibility that I could be required to drive several hours on short notice. For several days, I received no updates regarding the status or location of my vehicle. After initiating multiple follow-ups, I was repeatedly told, "I don't know," until I escalated the issue to management. Matt, the manager, was professional and communicative and ultimately confirmed where the vehicle had been sent. I had a safe in the trunk of my vehicle containing valuable items. Unfortunately, I was unable to retrieve them because I was unaware of the vehicle's whereabouts. To avoid further delays, I personally contacted the dealership and received clear information within minutes--something Blue Knob had been unable to provide after multiple days. By that point, the condition of the loaner vehicle required new tires for basic safety during a 5-6 hour drive. Once my vehicle was finally repaired, I was still required to wait for Blue Knob to retrieve it before I could do the same. During my visit to the service center, I overheard staff making disrespectful remarks regarding my request for safe tires on the loaner vehicle, among other comments. I was also informed that I should not have contacted the dealership directly and instead should have waited 3-5 business days for updates through Blue Knob. While Blue Knob presents itself as highly corporate and professional, internal communication and customer treatment do not reflect those standards. Clients should be aware that concerns regarding safety and timely communication may be met with dismissal rather than support.

Meanwhile, his offer was at the higher end. He then claimed, "Kelly Blue Book doesn't know what they're talking about." That's an interesting take, considering valuing cars is literally what they specialize in. When we asked if he could lower the price by $500, he hesitantly dropped it by $1. It was clear he wasn't interested in negotiating in good faith. I simply wanted to agree on the car's price first before discussing financing, but he seemed irritated by this approach. When I asked what work had been done on the car to justify the steep price, he dodged the question and insisted on knowing how we planned to pay first. He wouldn't provide any details on their investment in the car unless I disclosed my financing method--likely to maximize their profit. Afterwards, it turned out they hadn't done any work on the car at all. The only positive experience was the woman at the front desk, who was friendly and professional. If you decide to visit this dealership, I'd strongly recommend avoiding Steve.

I am putting out a major warning about the owner of this business who I dealt with personally this…read moreweek. He had a 1972 Chevelle that I fell in love with and we made an agreement for me to buy the car for $50,000. I live in California his shop is in Pennsylvania so certainly I had some questions since I don't know this man and he's asking me to wire him $50,000. We came to an agreement quickly and he asked me to Venmo him $2500 and the car is mine. I am going to produce all evidence of everything I'm claiming in the post. Monday night Venmo him right away the 2500. He told me the car was mine in text messages. Along with the fact that he had many other buyers for the car at higher prices all the way up to 55k. I asked him why is he selling me the car if he has people that are willing to pay more, he then replied it's not a sure thing. Now prior to the $2500 I received a text messages from him which I will produce about a buyer about an hour away that was coming up to pay $52,000 for the car. He told me if I Venmo him the 2500 the car is mine he will tell the other buyer the car is sold. I did exactly that. He sent me the text message between that buyer and himself to tell me what a lucky guy I am, and that he could've sold the car for more money blah blah blah. I did show my appreciation and I told him that. This car was exactly what I was looking for and I was very easy easy customer. I talk to him once about the car. I sent the Venmo right away. I thought I could trust him. Boy was I wrong. I have a bill of sale with no disclosures hand written about any type of cancellation policy. That bill of sale is 100% a contract that can't be canceled unless both parties agree legally. The only way it's legal is if he disclosed something in writing to me prior to the sale for cancellation that I have to agree to. I have proof of purchase. I will be including pictures of the vehicle everything I'm stating. This is a scrupulous owner in business that he gets away with this stuff. I was to Venmo him the remaining balance the next morning. I went to the bank first thing in the morning Pacific Time by the time I got to the bank I got one text message stating my $2500 has been returned in the deal is dead. What this jerk did is use me to get more money for the car as a bargaining chip. This is the bottom of the barrel and this is what gives car salesman horrible reputation. His ethics are zero I'm a 54-year-old man that has purchased many cars over the last 30 years. This is never happened to me. This man will lie and screw you without a doubt if he can make a little more money doing so. Everyone should stay away. This is a principal issue for me now and I don't want any of the public to go through what I went through with this guy. Everyone should be on alert. There's plenty of cars out there to buy from somebody else who's reputable and is a decent human being.. I will now prove clear pictures how scandalous this guy is.
