No complaints there at all. What brought my overall rating down to a 9 was really just the atmosphere. The restaurant is very small, which is fine, but it wasn't the cleanest. There were boxes in the waiting area and quite a few flies flying around, which definitely took away from the experience. The person behind the counter was really nice and polite, so no complaints about the service either. Overall, Soul City gets a 9/10 from me. The food was definitely a 10/10 and much better than the first soul food spot I tried. I'd absolutely go back, I just wish the atmosphere matched how good the food was.

The macaroni and cheese was dry, hard around the edges, and tasted old, as if it had been sitting out for quite some time. Presentation is everything to me. I ordered the mac and cheese with honey garlic chicken and collard greens. The chicken is fried good but the sauce is light which supposed to be honey garlic. The mac and cheese has no pull and it seems to be cheese only on the top and barley throughout. The collard greens are good even though there is no meat in them. And they have enough salt as well.
