I live in Long Island and was at a party- had the BEST Mac and cheese and yams EVER!!! Asked the person who brought this and other food items if she cooked it. She proudly said yes and then after everyone raved about it- she said she brought it from Urban Deli. Everyone said- where is that??? I'll be hitting the high way and coming out there. Just got a turkey avocado wrap delivered for lunch today and I have to honestly say - the quality went down tremendously! They used to give that real roasted turkey tasting good quality Boars head turkey, and it was packed in the wrap to the point where you could basically eat half the wrap today and save half for tomorrow. Well today I got what looked like that horrible overprocessed turkey that you get in the package in the refrigerator section of the supermarket - like Oscar meyer or whatever. This place is awesome. I recommend the chipotle grilled chicken in a wrap, hero or on a roll. It is always delicious and made with fresh ingredients. So far, the experience with their customer service is excellent in person and through delivery. The employees are very nice, friendly and very polite. Today, i placed an order through delivery and 5min later i got a phone call that they do not deliver at this hour anymore. The reviews with 5 stars must be very good friends of the establishment, over an hour wait for breakfast to get cold food, and on top of it it was late!! Buyer beware smh. Bc he's greedy, we also ordered the red velvet cake and chocolate cupcakes. Being vegetarians, we like finding places that we know we can trust will season our food well. Our meals had plenty of flavor and they used only fresh ingredients. You can tell they take the time to make sure the food is done properly. And the desserts tasted like they had just been baked and sent to our door. So good! Customer service is also on point. As soon as we placed our order we got a call within minutes about one missing item and how we'd like to replace it. Ordered French Toast and a Philly cheesesteak for lunch later that day. Both were surprisingly really good. French toast with Challah bread had a nice combo of butter and cinnamon. Tasted as if someone actually enjoyed preparing it which was really nice. The Philly cheesesteak was nice and flavorful. I asked for it without peppers and usually when that happens, it's a pretty bland sandwich but this one was delicious. I'd def order from them again. The only issue I had was trying to find the "eggs and bacon platter" on the menu. When I thought I ordered a platter with wheat bread, I really ordered a bacon and egg sandwich on wheat. I had a vegetable omelet with home fries and wheat toast with a coffee on the side and my partner ordered a western omelet with home fries. We were both pleased with our food and I would recommend them again and order from them again. I am looking forward to trying more. I've only had good experiences coming to Urban Gourmet. Their food is always fresh. It's a little bit pricier than going to get sandwiches from the deli but it's worth it. They also have an open buffet for you to choose from. They have anything you can think of. Not anything but... ziti, spaghetti, meatballs, chicken cutlets, a huge salad bar, different vegetables, grilled chicken, chicken wings, fruits, roasted potatoes, fish, chicken parm etc... they switch it up so it's not always the same. The hot foods stay heated at a good temperature and the cold foods are chilled properly. You can also get a sandwich made however you like. You can see them make it right in front of you. They have a small section where you can sit and eat your food as well. There's a large selection of beverages to choose from. I've never gone here and have to wait in a long line. The customer service is okay. Nothing remarkable. I'll definitely be coming back again when I don't feel like going to the local Deli. read more
