Kudos to Elcio is getting me into the soonest opening he had! Texting him at the yelp number that's listed here gets you to his number and he responds super fast. Some common answers: 1. course fee is $60. (pay by cash/check) 2. park in the lot to the right of the building. the signs say "1 hour" but you'll be fine 3. once you enter the building through the front, it's one of the farther rooms on the left in the back. (restrooms across the hallway) 4. sign in, watch video course w/ pauses to practice on adult and baby manikins, written test, receive certification card at the end His CPR course is gonna teach you what you need to do and he does it in an effective, efficient way. Some real life experience thrown here and there. Normally it's 3 hours long but he finished it in 2.5! He offered snacks (chips, chocolate) and water/coffee and kept us going. I had to get my BLS certificate before doing my clinical rotations in a hospital, and I'm glad I chose this one! First off, his website makes it easy to determine which class you need to take, and takes you to a payment page where you can pay with paypal or just with a regular credit card. Elzio is honest, down-to-earth, and makes you at home in his office. Prior to beginning our class, Elzio wanted to make sure that the class I was taking was indeed the one I needed. I appreciated this because many others may be confused and take the wrong class, pay the wrong fee, and realize they have to do it all over again. So I appreciated this. He also makes his classroom into a cozy laid-back environment, and provides snacks and water and juice. Coffee, even! While laid back, he also enforced key things to remember when performing CPR. This is important because we are saving lives with this class! We practiced on dummys with the video, and at the end we took a test. Elzio gave me my BLS certificate after the test, and that was in! Quick, in-and-out, and painless. I would recommend coming here for your CPR needs because his classes are very flexible and works with most schedules. One of the best CPR/BLS classes I have ever taken. Elcio is funny and professional. He is really knowledgeable and is there to help if you have any questions. The class takes about an hour and a half and takes place in his home studio. This was a great CPR class! I came here based off of the good reviews and it was definitely worth it! He has a new location in a well equipped room in his home which has all of the material you see in the photos, dolls to practice, AEDs, etc. I do understand that it is skeptical when you see that this class is from a home however, you can tell right away that it is a very professional setting. He makes sure that you know what you are doing and even gives you tips on real life situations he has been in being an EMT and currently being an RN. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone, especially for the great price! It says 3 hours but he only took about 2 hours for me which was even better. You get your certification emailed to you right away for easy access. Overall, worth it. read more

I have taken certification for CPR, AED, First Aid last year and just recently BLS from CPR Life Saver with Elcio Almeida. He is so knowledgeable along with patience that you feel so relaxed and comfortable. The class is small and you get one to one instruction and he makes sure you understand everything before going on. He reviews all the sequences until you know them and makes constructive corrections along the way. I never felt nervous as I have going into other classes with the same content. Elcio is the best. I needed to renew my BLS and signed up for the class offered on 11/24. Elcio didn't realize that it was thanksgiving day and reached out to me and asked if I was willing to work out a different time so that we could both spend more of the day with our families, so we took the class earlier in the morning instead. He is very patient, personable and good with communication. I was the only student that day but it was never awkward; Elcio goes out of his way to make his students feel comfortable and still learn. I had the best CPR class experience with Elicio! I have taken a few classes in order to renew my certificate and this class has been the best by far. As others have mentioned, his classes are small and I believe this is the best setup if one truly wants to learn and get the most out of the class. I was the only student in the class a couple of weeks ago and Elicio was very accommodating. He is very knowledgeable and truly has a passion for what he is teaching and this passion is contagious. Upon leaving I felt like I had a whole new outlook on CPR and I feel like I learned so much more than I have in any other class. Instructor and class: Elcio was a great instructor, VERY patient, thorough, friendly and funny. He constantly asked if I understood everything and he made the almost five hours interesting with his humor filled relevant experiences from his long career. His love for what he does is evident. I highly suggest CPR Life Saver, but especially for initial certification as there's a good chance you will be the only student, as I was. This allows you to go at your own pace without the worry of holding others back. I can't say enough positive things about him and his class. I'll be going back for renewal every two years. Required material: You do need the AHA Student handbook, which he does not have for purchase. He'll advise you to buy it online but I contacted Code 3* (on Allen Ave, about two miles away) and purchased it there for $20. This is a great option for those who may need schedule a class at the last minute. Cost and Payment: For First Aid and CPR renewal, it was $80. He does accept credit cards, I'm not sure about checks. *I would have chosen to renew my certification at Code 3 if they offered more classes, were a bit more friendly and didn't charge 50% of the cost of the class for cancellations made two days before the class and 75% of the cost of cancelled the day before.
