Over the past several months I have dropped into this store three times. On the first occasion it was to pick up a paperback large font version of the KJV Bible. I was shown a selection of approximately four options. I selected the one I wanted and purchased it. I later came back about three weeks later to pick up a copy of the "Imitation of Christ" by Thomas a' Kempis. Most recently I stopped in to obtain a copy of the Ethiopian Bible [Hard Bound] in excess of 800 pages for less than $70. Each purchase was of such great value, and the staff is exceedingly responsive. A very enjoyable place to visit and shop. read more

Quality/Quantity - Nice little welcoming store. Great place for gift giving. Bibles, cards, shirts, books, CDs, DVDs, church supplies, etc. They even have book signings, see pictures. Atmosphere - Small local Christian store. Restroom in the back, in the kids area. Kid friendly. I liked and followed the foot prints to the current promotions, see pictures. Open 6 days a week from 9am to 6pm. Closed Sunday. Plenty of mall parking. Service - 5 stars, both ladies were very welcoming. They offered me help, but I shared that I was just looking for my wife. Price - Didn't even look, just nice to support. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success for 40+ years. read more

Very friendly and helpful. They were very helpful, and they did a great job engraving the Bible that I had purchased as a gift.

Love, love, love this bookstore! Hope they'll stay forever in business especially in these days when almost everything is done online. I love their selection of everything - from Bibles to books, gift items and their GREETING CARDS. I always walk out their door really encouraged when I go there for greeting cards. I can say they have the best selection in town. Service is ALWAYS great that it's hard for me to understand why some people complain about that. Value may not be the best but, hey, they have their overhead costs to cover and I trust that they're not out to gouge the buying public. They need to stay afloat and thrive. I'm just grateful that we have a brick and mortar Christian bookstore especially for a small city like ours. And if I deem that something is overpriced, then I don't buy it. Came here to find a nice little rosary or something for my moms hospital bedside. I was the only person in the whole store besides one other lady who already checked out, but stood there talking to both sales clerks at the counter about Covid. Bummed that neither "sales" person could take the time to acknowledge me, let alone ask if I needed help. I walked around for 15 minutes and then left. Might want to acknowledge your potential customers, especially when you are just standing around. read more

Came here to purchase my teen daughter a catholic bible. I called several times before my visit to confirm that they had catholic bibles in stock. I was told by many that they had a wide selection of catholic bibles. The store is pretty big with a variety of things. I asked for assistance for direction on catholic bibles and was told they didn't have much catholic bibles but can be ordered online. I walked over to counter to see about ordering bible online. Waited for 5-10 min while the cashier and customer talked. Myself and others walked out of the store. Also, keep in mind most items that say in stock are not and will need to be ordered online. read more

I love coming here just for the peace and quiet. Its almost like going to an art gallery and bookstore all in one. The ladies there are so friendly and happy to help with anything and if they don't they will find out for you. Always stocked with the latest Christian books, music and decor. They have a wonderful selection of faith inspired decor, christian books and bibles. I have had a great experience custom ordering items too. It is so nice to physically look inside the books before I purchase them. This is something I can't do online, so I am thankful to have a local christian book store! As a mom and someone who teaches at a local church, I have found lots of great resources for children here. I almost didn't go here because of a previous bad review. I'm here to share that this store doesn't deserve a bad review. I went there yesterday and was treated very well by both people working. They answered all my questions and helped me find the perfect Bible for my daughter. There were plenty of Bibles to choose from ranging in prices, fit for any budget. I've gone here several times over the past ten or so years. Every time I'm disappointed. They have a good selection of Christian books and other goods (home decorations, lisence plate covers), but it's quite overpriced and the staff sucks. I stood at the counter for a whole five minutes today watching the staff discuss their personal lives before they deigned to acknowledge me. Parables is one of my favorite stores! The staff is always pleasant and willing to help in anyway they can. They have a a wide variety of Christian novels, movies, music, home decor, cards, mugs, ornaments, bookmarks, the list goes on and one....I can't name it all!!
