Can I say savvy and sheek for the little ones? An unique hidden gem that sits in a building that looks like a home. Plenty of space to park in the front of the store where you will see gently used or recycled toys, bikes, and tot things. As soon as you walk in you see a well-stocked store from the ground to the ceiling. Each area is stocked by size that is neat and in an orderly fashion. Selections for boys and girls both young and old. I am always impressed with the price point on all items. I am also intrigued with the quality of clothing. A small area in the back with books and toys. A tiny section in the front with brand new old school toys. I have also had the opportunity to co-sign here. Impressed with the process and believe I was fairly compensated. I highly recommend shopping here as the store has season items for all children's sizes. The only downfall is the service. Cute concept and nice options for the most part (they do have many stained items...I don't understand that and would expect that from a donation based thrift store, not a "high end" consignment store). Most items are priced fairly with the exception of luxury designer items. My low rating mostly stems from a lack of quality customer service. This has been consistent with every visit I've made. You're basically ignored from the moment you enter the store until you leave. During my latest visit I stood at the register for a full minute while a female employee, who sat NEXT to the register, stuffed her face blatantly ignoring me. Finally, without even LOOKING in my direction, she said "you ready?" That's wild behavior. I also heard an employee talking badly about a customer very loudly for all to hear. They have everything from designer to basic gently used finds and they are both priced at good value. Most items are between $3-$10! Such a steal! I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THEY ARE STILL IN BUSINESS AFTER YEARS OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THEIR RUDE SERVICE?! Do the workers/owners not read any reviews or even try to fix their attitude??? I've been a frequent shopper here for a couple years and I feel very weird as soon as I step in the store idk what it is or if it's a race thing but they definitely give dirty looks or as if you're bothering them also agree on condensing tones. I've been ignoring it until I came to the reviews and noticed I'm not the only one who thinks they're rude. There selection has definitely gone down and even selling to them is a hassle. They just drop your stuff and don't tell you when they're done or like they don't want to give you the cash rather than credit. I have gone to this store countless times over the last 8 years since my little girl was born. I have found cute unique pieces and for years have found myself thinking their pricing was a bit high but their location and the fact that they're not a chain had me coming back. This said - each time I leave I think, there was something off about the interaction with the staff. They almost act inconvenienced that you're there, which as others have pointed out, makes zero sense considering their business model. Extremely rude workers. Very condescending tones in any conversations. I went to Hissyfits about 5 years ago and as soon as I walked in they two ladies there gave dirty looks almost like they're are judging you for walking into a second hand store which makes no sense because that is exactly the situation. You don't work at Barney's ladies!!! And I'm not someone to ever pull the race card ever in my life but I definitely felt not welcomed in more than one way. I never went back. Fast forward 5 yrs later.. My friend is a frequent shopper and always find cute things for girls so I thought I'd give it a try and AGAIN, still rude as ever!! And it's a kids store, we take our kids in there quite a bit, and our older ones can read (see attached photos for completely inappropriate inventory). I used to shop here regularly, despite the merchandise being kinda highly for second hand. But my last visit was yesterday, right next to the front door is an array of dish towels laced with profanity. I take my children there and I don't appreciate them being exposed to the F word & sh word in a children's boutique. What is wrong with the owner, thinking it's appropriate for children to see?! I have such mixed feeling about hissyfits. I have found some very cool, unique articles of clothing here. But the store is SO disorganized and way too cramped, not stroller or wheelchair friendly at all. I also have a problem with the customer service. I've been in 5 times or so and it always seems like the staff are bothered by my presence, like I'm annoying them by simply being there. No warmth, smiles, or offers to help at all, any time I've been there. It seems condescending, they way they speak to their patrons. I've decided I won't be going back mostly because I feel like I have to prepare myself beforehand to feel like an inconvenience. Just brought a few pairs of shoes that my daughter quickly grew out of and my experience was easy and lovely. The store is super cute and they follow seasons and trends which is great! The store is consignment so once your items have sold you will be able to use the store trade or receive cash. I plan on letting my daughter go in and shop with whatever she earns in trade so she can experience that and spend her money wisely. read more

Most of these reviews are true, the store is crowded, the employees are unfriendly, and the prices are mediocre especially considering it's used stuff. I did, however get a brand new pair of red converse sneakers for my 8mo old son. So cute and unique. They have a lot of stuff from baby gap and some strollers and bigger baby items. No experience trying to consign with them but personally I'd take my stuff to other stores who give you the money up front. The day I was there, they had an artist doing silhouettes of kids for a fee which made the store extra crowded and hard to park. Would've been nicer for shoppers if they did that outside. read more

This place is kind of a dump from the outside, not what I expected from a "high end" kids consignment store. The lady behind the counter was rude and clearly isn't happy customers are coming in the store. I brought in some nice girls clothes mostly holiday dresses. They took nothing and the things they did say they would take she wouldn't open an account so few items. Stay away! Checked out the HB to see what I was missing as their Insta is always blowing up. It looked like a Hot Topic for kids! Take it or leave it on the decor. I was reluctantly greeted and made my way through the maze. Bumping my stroller into bags, totes and boxes that were all over the floor. It's a tight cluttered space, I settled on an item, that I was looking for but it was from the 90's and dirty - was kind of random compared to the rest of the store. I bought it anyway- Other prices I glanced at were a bit high, but I get it with consignment. Normally I linger and shop more, but I was the only person in the whole shop & felt like I wasn't really supposed to be there. As I kept bumping into things, they kept their heads down working. I had no, "wow," moments there. Or even, "cool." Or even, "hmm." It was just get in & get out. Vibe is weird-prob won't be back. There are better baby/kids stores in the valley. read more

Rarely post negative reviews but in retelling this story twice this AM, both people mentioned they had similar, poor customer service experiences here so I was moved to give some honest feedback in hopes that this company would make some positive customer service change. I waited for 20 minutes for store to open. Profuse apologies from staff - I get it, no worries, it happens, not upset! Waited for another 10 for them to set up, had a lengthy conversation about snow gear and how it's going so fast (I was on the hunt for 2T snow pants). Find one pair. $16. Not what I was hoping but I needed to move on. 15 minutes after checking out a friend came thru. So, I brought the snow pants back. (Literally this is all within 40 minutes of the time they actually opened the store). I wasn't sure they would take returns (perhaps something for them to reiterate at check-out) - I thought perhaps Karma might help me out - remember we talked for 10 minutes about how they had been selling so fast? I thought maybe just maybe they'll work with me since they were sure to resell.... No. Can I exchange for store credit? The pants hadn't changed in 40 minutes. No. Tag still in, receipt in hand. No. Nothing we can do. (um, yes you can take them back!) You can consign them to us and get half of what we sell them for when they are purchased. I had no idea what to say, so mouth agape I turned and left. I wish I had pointed out how unlikely it would be for me to ever work with an organization that does business in this manner. Waste of time, waste of money, service that made me feel like I was being looked down upon. It's sad because considerate customer service could have spurred the exact opposite review. read more

I've been in here twice now and the first time I bought a shirt for my son. They had a very limited selection of boys clothes but the shirt I found was cute. The prices aren't a great deal but not super expensive. My main complaints are that it's incredibly crowded and cramped and it's almost impossible to actually bring your kids with you. But more importantly the employees are the rudest they don't acknowledge you or anyone else that walks in. Even when you are standing at the register trying to give them your money they ignore you and continue talking amongst themselves. I remember when Hissyfits opened and I was friended by them on MySpace. Haha! I have been in love with the name ever since but I moved away from Phoenix right before they opened and didn't have the opportunity to shop there when my kids were young. Fast-forward to 2012 and we moved back. Nice second-hand store for baby, toddler, and young children's clothes. There are some options for older children but it's definitely geared toward the smaller kids. Baby gear, shoes, even little trinkets and jewelry. I have lots of Little's in my life and know that if I want to find something cool and unique, that HF is where to go! I think their pricing is spot on and you can really score some great items! Twice a year they do something called The Hullabaloo, where they bring in tons of amazing crafters (mostly moms) who sell THE MOST amazing items ever! I did a ton of my Christmas shopping at their fall event and all the kids I shopped for loved what they got. I missed the spring event, so I am chomping at the bit for this years fall Hullabaloo! I received an invitation via email to attend their winter sale which was to go through Friday. When I went in on Friday (bringing a friend in with me who was appalled) the women working there acted like it was an inconvenience that we were there. I looked at another rack besides the sale rack and was barked at that "those items are not for sale yet, no one can look at them yet!" Really, what is wrong with these women? Why were they so rude? They have good stuff, but you have to put up with meanness to get it. Go to Goodwill or shop on eBay and you'll get as good stuff for the price plus people who appreciate your business! ******UPDATE****** I went back to give it another shot and they were nice. BRILLIANT IDEA. Everyone knows kids grow out of clothes, toys, shoes, attitudes, etc so quickly. Most items are gently used especially when they are very young. I went to Hissyfits with my friend who is a die hard fan and wow! she got some serious deals. The place is packed, it is separated by boys/ girls and then by size. There is even a section for toys, maternity wear, strollers (which I hear go quickly), baby needs like bedding, crib mattresses, high chairs, baby carriers- all sorts of goodies! The prices are a steal and hard to pass up. Yes, the place is jam packed but that's even better- more selection! Hissyfits is a resale shop so you'll never know what you'll find, but when I checked it out there was a decent selection of children's clothes and a small maternity selection. I happened to be looking for furniture and didn't see much along those lines (but they did have a couple of basic rocker/ottoman sets). I only ended up buying a pair of very fairly priced maternity pants and was surprised they ended up being on sale at the check-out register. If I would have known they were having a sale, I might have tried harder to find more stuff. And, BTW, it's a very crowded store and the bathroom doubles as a fitting room. They had some baby bjorns for about 50% off retail that I would have considered if I could have figured out how to put it on without the manufacturer's instructions. My one and most serious complaint is that I overheard a store employee talking to a customer about car seats. Buying a used car seat is already a little risky and her response to reselling the seat was "We ask that your car seat hasn't been in accidents, but, you know,..." While the store is definitely still very cluttered, I was able to look past that on my most recent visit and enjoy the great service and awesome finds. After all, this isn't Nordstrom's - I should probably be more forgiving, since it means more product for ME to buy! On my visit this morning, the women working were helpful and chatty. They helped me find the dressing room/bathroom, added my name to a "wish list" (awesome service!) to call when they get certain products instock, and showed me where to look for cloth diapers. If you are overwhelmed by the clutter, as I was - ask for help! They are more than happy to show you where to look. Glad I tried them again, and will definitely be back for more maternity clothes, baby items, and *hopefully* cloth diapers! read more

Well not sure where to start... I lived in Phoenix and came across Hissyfits on Yelp while I was pregnant and wanted to visit however I moved out of the state and never made it to the store. I recently started shopping on social networks and supporting small shops and was so glad to have come across HF. I ordered an item and was charged for it, two weeks went by and I was a little concerned that my item hadn't arrived, I assumed they were busy and only made PO drops some days. We'll I decided to contact them yesterday (three weeks later) only to find out they made a mistake and they had to refund my money. Unorganized much? It wasn't quite the experience I as a first time customer was looking for. Most likely won't order anything unless I happen to be in Phoenix and decide to pop in to the store instead. read more

Hissyfits is a rad little shop for outfitting short people with personality. The store offers a solid mix of sweet, cutesy stuff that would make my mom swoon and the punky, tongue-in-cheek stuff I favor for the imps in my life. We picked up a skull & crossbones onesie and a pink fur diaper cover for some friends' brand new baby and an impulse dinosaur raincoat for another friend's preschooler. Hissyfits is a REALLY cute kid's consignment store...the decor is unique and different from other Kid's Resale stores. It's a refreshing change to see the chandeliers, distressed/grunge signs, funky colors, shabby display furniture, etc...(instead of Elmo, Disney, or other popular cartoon characters) I LOVE the decor at Hissyfits! There were 2 gals on staff...one FRIENDLY gal was looking thru totes of clothing near the front door. The other was walking out of the store on her cell phone (how about walking OUT, then getting on the phone??) The prices were close to CLEARANCE prices found at Old Navy, Dillards, Children's Place, etc...but, the finds were cute and looked "like new". The store was a tad cluttered, but I was able to find the sizes, as the cute signs were well placed. I would definitely shop here again and next time I'm bringing a tote of my kid's stuff! SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL BUSINESS! Hissyfits is a fine resale shop for children's clothing. I've been using resale shops for my children for 16 years, and have seen them come and go. The owners of Hissyfits run a good show here. It's a fun, eclectic atmosphere. Great selection for infant-to-preteen; they do have larger sizes for young teens, but not as plentiful (maybe because they don't often wear children's clothing). The pricing is fair, the selection is fresh and fun. It is tight inside, and can be crowded with merchandise in process but not horribly so. Plenty of inexpensive gift items here, some cute custom items as well. Nice selection of toys and furniture flow through. If you are looking for a way to get quality children's clothing for less than retail, check this store out. Need a quick winter jacket or dressy dress? Look here before hitting a department store. As a seller: My kids are (sadly?) outgrowing children's sizing, but I am still able to bring in my youngest's outgrown or little used items. They can be somewhat inconsistent with their buying. There have been a times where I've brought in a really good stack of relevant items, and only a couple are selected. Once I unintentionally came back at a different time with the same stack, and another employee took a bunch more items. That inconsistency aside, I have found them to be professional to work with. They keep track of your items well, and offer fair trade in or cash payout. They will donate your unwanted or unsold items to charity, which is one less trip for me to make. read more

Great brands, really good selection of new merchandise, fun accessories, the prices totally rock.
