Customer service here is so awful. No hello or welcome in. They seemed so annoyed and irritated. Wouldn't even walk up to the counter to help me. The lady would stand way back and shout instead of walking up to the register. I sold some things, they took very little. She tossed my bags on the counter, walked away, went to the other side of the counter and yelled that I needed to sign the receipt. Rude tone of voice, horrible attitudes. Very overpriced. Also pretty disorganized, especially in the shoe department shoes are miss labeled with the wrong sizes when the correct size is very prominent inside the shoe. I've only been to the store one time but won't be returning. I bought a pair of shoes thinking they were a size 8 because they were in the bin labeled toddler 8. they were actually a size 7. When I went to return them, they took back my first time discount and charged me $2 extra dollars instead of just doing an even exchange like any retailer on earth would do. Prices were a lot higher than other comparable second hand retailers of children's clothing/toys. Yes, it's Scottsdale. Clean boutique and stuffed full of gently-used garments and shoes for children/infants/toddlers. This location is a franchise. Was never greeted or acknowledged... Once Upon a Child, in a far off place called North Scottsdale ;), There existed a children's resale store Tucked inside the Potbelly Sandwich shop plaza. The shop sold all sorts of baby and kid's wares. Strollers, jumparoos, pack and plays, carriers, toys, and so many, so very many clothes. As for prices? For clothes they ranged from $1.50 to $10 depending on the outfit. During one visit in June they were offering a magical clearance sale. Everything with a red or white tag was 50% off. For those making purchases, there was the option to become part of their New Mom Club to earn points to go towards discounts on future items. As for the feel of the shop, it was a bit cluttered. Moms with strollers might have encountered stroller traffic trying to navigate through the aisles. You might have wondered, what was the best find of the day? The answer was a toy replica of KITT from Knight Rider of course, complete with The Hoff's mug on the cover! read more

I stopped by and bought two new jackets for my daughters for $30 a price. I was in a hurry while I was shopping so I didn't do my research on that brand. When I got home, I looked them up online and saw that the same exact jacket was on sale at Walmart for $18 each. I thought I would be getting a deal shopping there because it's a secondhand store. Drove all the way there and saw the open sign lit up and closing time was still over 35 minutes later just to find a locked door. They closed early without informing customers. Very disappointing since this was typically my preferred kids consignment. They could have at least posted on social media and turned the open sign off as I understand things happen. Very cute kids glasses once I got past the smell of old stuff. I came to check out an infant walker, stroller ( found one simple one just $12 ) and high chair but left empty handed. I found the staff nice but the merchandise I was looking at was very dirty. I'll check out regular retail stores for sales but I won't pay for filthy items. If I stroll back (ha) it's to buy the brand new sunglasses for toddlers. read more

I use to love this store with my first baby which was only 1 year ago now our second I sent in there and the prices for the clothes you should just go to Carter's and honestly silver of the outfits would be cheaper there! The toys are very overpriced as well the new Melissa and Doug stuff. Sometimes however you can find good holiday outfits. read more

Owner is a scammer & has very poor business practices. She posts items 'available' for sale for low prices on their instagram page that they don't actually have available to lure people to the store. She posted items for sale at 7am on the page & stories, I (and another customer for a different item) both got there as soon as the store opened and the items were NOT THERE. First people in the store and the items are no where to be found. When we commented about it in instagram, instead of her explaining or taking ownership of the situation, she blocked us. They always seem to have some top notch brands for children's clothes in all sizes. Be on the lookout for sales and deals! You can end up getting bags full of clothes for 90% off or 5 pajamas for $10 (some of my favorites deals they've had). It makes dressing my Irish twins way more affordable! There's also a large assortment of jumpers, bassinets, and other kid necessities. I have yet to sell to them so I can't say much about that process but the sales associates have always been kind and helpful. The store does get somewhat messy at times and when they get busy, the lines are long and disorganized. read more

This one star review is not for the store itself, (because the store is great) but for the employees who work here . I've been to this store quite a few times and literally every time the women/girls who work here are less than helpful. They act like they're having the worst day of their lives. They don't greet you when you walk up to the counter. They kind of halfway look up from whatever they're doing and look away as if you're not standing there. I am not a huge consign shopper, but when I found myself in the shopping center that houses this "Once Upon a Child" location, I was drawn in... There were all kinds of strollers sitting outside in tip top condition, racks and racks of kids' costumes right inside the door, a wall full of books and toys, and clothes, shoes, and more toys and kid accessories scattered throughout. Everything looked clean, and the girls working were friendly. I ended up purchasing a few kid activity books that weren't used before and were very affordable, and I have a feeling I may be back soon to consign some of the many hand-me-downs piling up in my closets as my kids grow and grow way too quickly! read more

I had my assistant leave with her car so I had no way of taking it back I had to accept $36 for it... they said that's how the pricing works in their system and they can't change it.
