Golden is such a cute city! We only spent a little time here, but the downtown area is definitely bustling and gives the vibes of a preserved wild wild west kind of town where people came from all over to mine for gold! There's this massive Welcome to Golden sign that stretches across the main street of the downtown that is impossible to miss, and every year they have this wonderful festival in the city where golden retrievers from all over come and gather here! With traditions like this, you just know this town is wholesome!

Such a cute and historic town with many restaurant, brewery, and bar options. Plenty of parking all around and a nice place to walk around and enjoy the mountain scenery as well.

So much fun... great coffee shop... great creek adorable historic downtown great friendly people

Golden is a small town near Denver. It's a former mining/industrial town; it's now something of a tourist destination. The downtown area has many restaurants and shops. The Coors brewery is here. Clear Creek runs through Golden. There are several hiking trails nearby.

An awesome little downtown for an afternoon stroll with all the obligatory tourist shops; candy stores, tee-shirt shops, restaurants, bars.... Something for everyone so expect crowded sidewalks and parking lots. make sure you spend a little time either getting into or at least watching other get into the rapids of Clear Creek that runs right through downtown. A very peaceful respite from the commercial areas a block away.

This town is quite cute. Unfortunately, it was raining when we visited so we couldn't fully experience the place. From what we saw it was awesome with many shops and restaurants along the main strip.

To celebrate this holiday I have selected the most incredible concert venue in the country to Yelp…read moreabout. I had only dreamed for many years about seeing a concert here. Last year my husband surprised me and bought tickets to see my favorite band Incubus perform here in July. I could not believe it and was so very, very excited! We arrived a little early which gave us time to hike and explore the park portion and to learn more about the history of this place (another review). Upon arrival, we had made reservations to dine in their restaurant before the show. Promptly at six, we were let in. This place is massive and is an open air amphitheater that holds approximately 9,500 people. The city of Denver owns and operates it. It is well known due to the huge monolith rocks that surround it. They are called "Ship Rock" and "Creation Rock". In the upper level, there are plenty of vendors selling food, beer, merchandise etc. Once you begin the ascent down to your seats you see how big this place really is. We had terrific seats down low but high enough to still have a view of the city of Denver in the distance. The sound is so well preserved due to the surrounding sandstone formations. The concert was fantastic and I got to hear all my favorite songs. At one point in the show I had to pinch myself just knowing I had finally achieved the goal of seeing a concert here. We also were lucky enough to have a huge full moon come up during the show. The night was indeed magical and I will never forget it. If you haven't been here for a show/concert, I cannot recommend enough what a unique experience it is. You must do it! I am hoping to come back again in the future. To me America shines here with this amazing park and amphitheater. Thank you Colorado!

Seat 48 was in the literal middle and at eye level w the musicians so it was perfect. I did pay scalper prices (3x) for them though (AXS fees were ridiculous). We came prepared with 18" wide seat cushions (they were crazy about enforcing the size at the gate w a ruler). I did my research and we showed up early, like 4:30p to tailgate. Picked up some sandwiches from Carmine Lonardo's to go with some wine; they were perfect. We chose to park in the Lower South Lot to be closer to the stage since we had lower seats, but instead of walking up to the ramp, we came across and took the complimentary shuttle to the Upper North lot entrance FOR THE WIN, as we would only have to deal with going down stairs instead of the hill to get to the South side ramp. Leaving the venue though was a bit of a challenge. Actually, a bit of a clusterfuck. We didn't even try to turn on the car and just sat in the parking lot for about 30 minutes to let the other cars clear out. Overall, great experience and would definitely do it again.

Safely…read moreride from downtown or from Golden CO to downtown this is convenient and a must try at least once... but I bet you will get hooked! Save time, save money and ride the train from the airport to Golden CO! It's easy, it's cheap and if you are 65 there is even a discount. Park at the Jeffco line because it's free and a safe place to leave your ride and not have a hassle fighting for a space downtown. The government building is right next door to the West line so no worries about your car. The train is clean and you don't have to stress the traffic.

Free parking two miles from my house and a $4 ride to a Rockies game? Yup!!…read more PLENTY of free parking here in the covered garage. There are two ticket machines; one takes cash and card and the other is card only. So many reasons to ride the light rail! Avoid busy traffic, avoid parking hassles and fees, see some cool sights, have a few drinks downtown without worrying about a DD, and support public transportation!! People watching is never disappointing either. Usually takes us about 40-45 minutes to get to Union Station. My only complaint about all of these stations is they need more ticket machines. This one isn't as much of a problem as Union Station or Pepsi Center where we have waited 45 minutes after an event to get our tickets. But we have missed a train a time or two here because we are waiting in line. Yay for public transportation!!
