The trams are smallish and we went up with 6 people on board (plus a wonderful, sweet operator named Michelle (she is so sweet...). Plenty of room and windows open on 3 sides! Up top there are trails and rocks and views in every direction. On the way down it was just the two of us and another very friendly and enjoyable operator named Lance. A second shout out to Michelle and Lance for making the experience that much more pleasant. Highy recommended!

We finished taking the scenic drives around RMNP and went into Estes Park. I suggested we take the tram up the mountain before dinner. We arrived at the lower terminal. There's a parking lot available to park in for a fee. Handicap Parking is free. We went inside and bought our tickets for $35.96 each. There was no line to board the tram, so we went on out to the loading area. There's a gift shop here you can visit before going up. It is highly recommended to have a reservation (purchase tickets in advance)! Prices vary depending on day of the week and time. If you are a walk-in, the time slot you want may be sold out and you'll have to select an available time. Each tram accommodates 10 people. We had the car to ourselves along with the tram attendant. She was very friendly and we had a nice conversation. She lets riders in and out of the tram. The ride is fairly short (5 minutes each way) even though the tram doesn't travel terribly fast. There's an elevation gain of 1,029 ft. The upper terminal sits at 8,619 ft. This is a very smooth ride. The windows of the tram were wide open, which was great! At the upper terminal, there is an observation platform with telescopes, gift shop, picnic areas, restrooms, cafe, and a trail to the West Summit. The trail is .75 miles one way and is supposedly a fairly easy hike. There's a machine that spins fresh cotton candy and I had to try it! We bought a small bag of peanuts to feed the chipmunks, but it seemed like the birds got most of them. The view is breathtaking! We left the top around the golden hour and it was awesome! This was a serene way to enjoy nature!

You just stand around hoping it shows up, then eventually the next one does. Maybe. Service is already thin with trains only running every 15 minutes or so at best, so when you miss your connection(s) the time lost starts adding up quickly. This morning the bus driver got lost which was a first, so I missed my train and was late to work. This didn't surprise me unfortunately, as I expect RTD to screw me over at least 10% of the time and they were about due. Leaving work the train simply didn't show up, so I missed the hourly bus back home. I'm currently standing in a shelter at Federal Center station, and in keeping with their policy of being awful, RTD decided the shelters should have holes in the sides so that the wind can pass straight through. There's plexiglass at the upper portion so if you stand on the bench it's less miserable, but it's really frustrating how bad this transportation agency is at all aspects of transportation.

The Best Date Night and Scenic Train Ride in Colorado--Absolutely Worth Every Penny!…read more If you're visiting Colorado, the Royal Gorge Route Railroad should be at the top of your bucket list. It is, without question, one of the most spectacular ways to experience the Royal Gorge. The towering canyon walls, rushing river below, and breathtaking scenery make you feel completely immersed in one of North America's most incredible natural wonders. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. Everyone was friendly, professional, and passionate about making our experience memorable. We booked the Vista Dome with dinner, and it exceeded every expectation. The food was delicious, the cocktails were excellent, and the service was attentive without ever feeling rushed. Once dinner was over, we explored the open-air cars, and that alone was worth the trip! We spotted deer along the riverbank, a majestic bald eagle soaring overhead, and even a beaver swimming below. Being outside while the train winds through the gorge is something you simply can't capture in photos--you have to experience it for yourself. I've read reviews mentioning the price, but after experiencing it firsthand, I couldn't disagree more. For a luxury train ride, exceptional service, a wonderful dinner, handcrafted drinks, and access to scenery you can't experience any other way, it is an outstanding value. This is so much more than a train ride--it's an unforgettable adventure and one of the best date nights we've ever had. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion, planning a romantic evening, or simply looking for a truly unique Colorado experience, I can't recommend the Royal Gorge Route Railroad highly enough. We left already talking about our next trip back!

Peak 1 Express: I'd use again!…read more I was under the impression the ride was 2-ish hours from the airport to Breckenridge, and I was wrong (which may have been my misunderstanding). The ride is supposed to be *around* 3 hours. We stopped for some folks to transfer, a bathroom stop, then to Silverthorne, then to Breckenridge (which there were 4 different stops for the riders). The ride from the airport to our destination felt much, much longer than my return shuttle. I wish there was a better way to drop folks off on all the small towns on the way (especially when the rentals and cabins are far off the main roads). My first shuttle was half full and it was fairly comfortable for breathing room in between us. I could imagine it being a lot less comfortable if it were a full shuttle (and being on a full shuttle after, I realize how lucky I am to be on a half full shuttle to start). It was on time to pick us up, but we didn't get to leave until closer to 25 mins later due to someone's flight being delayed (also not their fault, drivers arrange with a walkie-talkie system on them fly to talk to the main office to get it sorted). We unfortunately got stuck in about an hour of traffic (to no fault of anyone) and it was high spirits and good tunes. Our driver (Mike?) was so great! He was wonderful to talk to and had lots of stories! My return shuttle was larger and completely full. A little confusing on where to stand in the skier drop lot for Breckenridge, but the driver called me and I was just out of site for him. Drive was great and no traffic this time! My tip is to leave plenty of time from the airport and shuttle, manage your expectations. I could also see a different experience with different drivers/bad weather. From my experience, they do everything in their power to get you where you need to go! I'd use them again.

When the driver finally arrived we saw we were only the second passenger and the first pick up was also picked up an hour late. This was a 6am shuttle. The only possible reason is that the driver decided to start his drive an hour late and didn't communicate this to the passengers at all. There was no apology or acknowledgment of delay. On top of all of that the heat in the van must have been broken or off because we were shivering in full winter gear for the entire 2 hour drive.

On the day of my wedding, they were more than 30 minutes late to pick up 15 of our guests because they went to the wrong address. In fact they were so late my guests had to buy Ubers to my wedding (not a cheap Uber ride either, so embarrassing). As a result, my wedding was delayed by 30 minutes and ended up ruining our day-of timeline overall. I should have seen it as a red flag that Tad wanted payment in cash or check upfront. Any other time I would have cancelled my credit card payment, since he didn't deliver on services I paid for. Don't be fooled when Tad sweet talks you over the phone. This is disreputable company who I can't imagine will be in business much longer. Do yourself a favor: pay a few hundred bucks more with another company, and get peace of mind that you won't be totally ripped off and your night ruined.

My sister ended up having many conversations with Tad the week leading up to my event after all the negative reviews online to make it known that we were aware of their rep and wouldn't entertain it. Tad ended up coming through in the end. While the bus wasn't the cleanest (stuff had been splashed on the seats, the windows were smudged and grimy with God knows what, and the ac was leaking inside the bus), it wasn't bad and our night ended up great. Our driver, Kathy, was amazing! My sisters phone fell behind the seats and she couldn't get it. Between our first and second stops, Kathy was able to get her phone out. If I could give them a 3.5 I would based on Kathy. Overall, would we choose them again? Possibly. The price wasn't bad but I firmly believe my sisters continued calls are what saved us from a terrible experience with this company.
