I would not drive more than 30 minutes to see what it here. They may still offer a restaurant on site...but it was average to below average as our group did eat there after the then....tour back in 2015.

The place was packed with presidential memorabilia, wax figures, and the most fabulous miniature model of the White House. There was even a cute video of pets that have lived in the White House. We visited the main building which had many examples of artifacts that reflect what time was like in FL back in time. My favorites were seeing the Victorian Doll Houses and seeing how detailed the homes were. I also loved seeing the dolls and the types of clothes they would be wearing by decade. My favorite was walking through the back. It was a nice sized village that had a church, school, train station, home, grove, garage, tool shed, barn, etc. There was a number of activities, actual people dressed back in time, animals, etc. There is a lot to see here. They often have special events throughout the year. If you like their Facebook, their events will pop up. Their next event has to do with their popular homemade sugar cane. That event will be Jan. 9. This place is fun, pretty, & educational at the same time.

They had tiny flint points to a towering mammoth skeleton and everything in between. And megladons! I was surprised how heavy the cannonball was and how the soft raccoon fur felt. They also have friendly and very knowledgeable volunteers that made the canoe exhibit come to life. Shout out to Sandy for sharing part of her day and let us have even more fun at the museum. Ok, now get the next angle! We wanted a cool place to beat the heat on a Saturday afternoon and we ended up learning, laughing and enjoying each other's company. My daughter kept apologizing like she was the one who did something wrong when it's their fault she cut her foot by not keeping chairs and materials safe. It was a $10 toy. It's not like we demanded refunds or free tickets for a future visit. And they couldn't be bothered to help her trip end on a good note. It's it like we did something wrong. No one expected a screw to be sticking up in the splash pad area! Thank you for nothing.

Many years passed until I finally had the opportunity to visit. I was not disappointed. The location of this park is very urban, but once you enter the park you feel like you are in a magical land, with the river, the sun, the moon, the marshes greeting you. The pottery found looks strange to me, I see an extraterrestrial and a spaceship. One of the rock pillars also has a similar extraterrestrial face, and one of the hands in the pottery has tattoos on it. I don't know what happened here, but I "feel" something here, and I like it. This place feels like sacred ground. I hope that I can visit again and again.

My only complaint is the story that's shared while touring is extremely long winded and standing in place for an hour can be very uncomfortable for older folks or those out of shape. They offer you a seat but it's kind of awkward because nobody opts for that and you have no idea the interesting tales will take as long as they do. My advice, SIT before they begin the storytelling -- history behind the house.

Then we walked up to the third (second?) level for the theatre. We got in the left queue, which was for preferred. The show started at 6, and we were allowed in at 5:45. We chose seats in front of a large box which might have been part of the projection system. For future shows, behind it a row or two would be better. We found ourselves putting our head back and craning our neck left and right frequently during the show. The seats were comfortable. The sound and picture quality were the best! For about 47 minutes we were completely immersed in the music of Pink Floyd and brilliant images of the world or subject matter of the songs on the album. Exiting the theatre was as easy as entering it. We walked down the stairs and walked outside to get to our car, parked nearby. Cars were coming in for the next show, so they took our space as we pulled out and left. We saw this show 2 years ago at a venue in St. Petersburg. We paid for parking. Parking was free at MOSI. We sat in lawn chairs that were not comfortable, and our necks hurt after the show. The sound was not as full and crisp as MOSI, and the hole in the center of the dome above us was distracting and took away from the immersive experience. The MOSI Experience was almost double the cost, but everything about it was superior to the Pinellas County immersive event.

The art at the museum is beautiful with a great collection. However, the only thing I wish is of this museum were bigger. While it's easy to spend 1-2 hours here, the museum does feel small compared to others I've been to. Other than that though, the collection is wonderful!
