Chris, the owner always does a great job! The prices are the best in town. I always love coming here to relax on the weekends. I was here last week to get a manicure and pedicure for the Easter season. They give you hot stones and a massage during your pedicure. The massage chairs are also great. The only thing you need to be weary of is time. It gets really busy in the early afternoon so you have to wait your turn. Always try calling first! The atmosphere is always so wonderful. I'll only come here if I need an emergency (acrylic) fill-in. It's NOT a relaxing salon experience, the whole time their hyper daughter is running around and expecting you to entertain her and sometimes her dog too...wait, a non-service dog in a salon all the time, is that even legal? Well, it can't be sanitary. Speaking of sanitary, this place kinda grosses me out. The first time I went there the fill-in literally took 20 mins start to finish...and believe me they looked it. I went back the next day to have the tips drilled from underneath to make them look less thick and it didn't do anything so I just left. They also nickel and dime you...everything is fie dolla($5) extra for that, fie dolla more for this. If you want perfection skip the aggravation and go to Royal Nails & Spa in Fairfield and get your nails done by William, he's clean and actually passionate about what he does. Absolute worst mani-pedi I've ever had. What is supposed to be a relaxing experience was everything but. Three unruly kids running around screaming, fighting, wailing, at least one of them belonged to the woman doing my nails. No attempt to tame or control them whatsoever. The massage chair was as hard as a rock and the massage balls only stayed in one spot. There were zero options to adjust the location of the massage balls, pressure, knead/tap, width, etc. And, while the balls stayed in one place, they only worked for about 10 seconds before stopping and doing nothing other than making a mechanical sound. Woman doing my nails went MIA several times. No relaxing music, no television, outdated magazines. Nothing to drown out the noise of the uncontrolled kids. Oh, almost forgot, the rocks used to relax my feet were so hot, I'm surprised I didn't smell my flesh burning. Terrible experience. read more

I came here because my usual place was busy and I didn't have time to wait that day. First of all the girl filing (pedi and mani) files your skin as well as your nails. I had to make a mention of it because it's an incredibly uncomfortable feeling to have your skin filed along with your nail. Then she half assed painted my nails. One looked like she missed getting even close to my cuticle - I asked her to please fix one in particular and she then proceeds to paint all of them up to my cuticle. I'll give myself a manicure before ever returning here. Most people love kids, but not screaming kids (owner's kids). They were rather rambunctious and a distraction. Definitely not relaxing if you're looking to lay back and relax. read more

I used to come here regularly but simply had to quit - several reasons. The owners' children are always there and while I want to support them in supporting their family, (1) the last time I was here the toddler was physically pulling on the mom's arm while she was doing my pedi. (2) Saw several concerns for safety for the kids - substances, sharp objects within reach - and I just can't turn off my own anxiety watching the risks. (3)The general lack of cleanliness and state of disrepair is depressing. Sitting in the chair to wait my turn, I noted areas on the floor where it seemed that "filings" had accumulated - like hair clippings in a barbershop never getting swept up. Yuck. read more

If I could give this less than one star I would. I used to go there years ago in high school because they're so cheap. There was always something noticeably wrong at the end of the manicure (would get an acrylics) either the shape, wasn't smooth, too thick, gel nail polish was bubbling. Christ the owner- got upset one day that I asked him to fix his mistake in front of another customer and kicked me out, telling me never to come back again. Fast forward a couple years later I have vacation coming up and need to get my nails done last minute. I stop in an hour and a half before they're supposed to close and he tells me their closed. So i come by the next day for an acrylic set and a pedi- bad idea. His wife does my pedicure- put the nail polish so thick it started running off my nails. Then applied the top coat literally dipping the brush in the bottle not wiping off the excess and dabbing it on my nails messing up the already horrible paint job she did. She finished- left me sitting there waiting for Chris to jump between customer to customer, after 20 min he comes to tell me to go sit in his chair. I pointed out how bad the pedicure was he redid it- came out just as bad. Upset already at this point- I go sit to get my nails done. He put the acrylic set on-horrible shape but he somehow managed to make it look worse and worse. As he's shaping them he starts filing into my finger- I have deep cuts on every finger from this place, it hurts to to hold anything right now I believe they're infected. He charged me $55- meanwhile i was in there for almost 2 hours for a mani pedi. Not to mention his children running around, laying on the floor, crying. Years ago they had a big bird that they would let walk around which eventually bit my friends finger so bad it bled. This bird used to sit on top of pedi massage chairs and occasionally take shits where your head goes. They just recently stopped bringing their dog in. Very unprofessional. Soon as I returned home my boyfriend commented how bad my nails looked and refused to let me go on vacation like that- took me the next morning to get them reshaped and repainted in Morristown. The nail place we went to was confused as to how a nail salon would even let a customer walk out the way my nails looked. It was embarrassing to say the least. I don't have pictures of the paint and shape that Chris did- his botched job was somewhat repaired as best as they could. Just showing the cuts for reference. I highly advise not to go there! It is a dirty, unprofessional place- you'll never leave with the nails you envisioned having while walking in. Again if I could leave no star I would. Not sure how this place is still up and running. You clearly get what you pay for at this nail salon. read more

They were very courteous and had better prices and explained everything to my girlfriend and myself. In addition, they were able to take us in for service on the spot! the only reason i kept going back here was because a new set of acrylics was only $25! i soon realized that they are so cheap because the nails they do are horrific. every time i have got them done at least 2 nails have completely fallen off in the first week, the acrylic isn't smooth and is bumpy, and they leave my nails looking unfinished. read more

It is ok for a small place. I just moved here but usually go to Elizabeth to get my nails done. Chris does a good job but, walk ins are really not welcome and have to wait hours for ppl that have an appointment. I prefer not to have women do my nails so, I have to wait hours if I want to wait for Chris to finish his appointments----with no discount in the amount of money I'm charged. read more

Last year when I went here, the wife of the man who owns it, was doing my nails with her newborn baby in her arms. There were tons of fumes all around the baby from the nail products that even adults shouldn't breathe in. So today i went back, only because the prices are so cheap. After I sat down 3 people came in, & had to wait so long because for some odd reason his wife who works there, walked out instead of helping them. So all 3 of them including me had to wait for the owner to do all of our nails. A baby from the back room starts crying. He jumps up & grabs his baby leaving 3 people waiting. He puts the baby on his lap & continues to do nails as he is holding her in his arms. This us the most unproffesional buisness I have ever encountered. I didn't want to have to write a negative review because the owner is so nice, but you should be warned before you spend your money here. read more

HORRIBLE gel manicure. I had one of the girl technicians and the result was terrible. She did not speak the entire time, the water in the soaking bowl was lukewarm, she filed the old color off instead of using acetone, she did not file or shape my nails and the color is sloppy (on my fingertips, not all the way down to the nail bed so it looks grown out and it's uneven in some spots). I will not go back, I do not have the time or money to waste. read more

For the past 2 years I have been getting acrylic fills (and the occasional full acrylic set when it is time to start fresh) and a pedicure about every 3 weeks. They have always done a great job for me. Chris the owner usually does my nails and he does a fantastic job and is very friendly. His wife or another woman usually do my pedicures and they are great, they take their time and massage your legs and feet. I have gone back in after a few days if I chipped or broke a nail and they fixed it no charge. Great prices and great service. Will continue going here for my nails and pedis! read more

I've been coming to Hitek Nails for about 8 years and they always do a fantastic job on my acrylics. I had a full set with freehanded nail art and a pedicure for $55 - that price is unbeatable and it was exactly what I wanted. I know the location is a bit of a drive for some who don't live in the area but it's worth it if you want quality acrylics that are shiny, never cloudy and well shaped. read more

After years of visiting this site, I have finally made a yelp account JUST to review this place and warn off others. I have had bad service at other salons but NEVER this bad! The salon owner's children were there, one was a toddler maybe 2 years old? She didn't like the fact that her Mommy was paying attention to me by doing my manicure instead of her. She picked up a nail file and ran over and slapped me with it. Then later, she came up to me and started scratching me with her nails on my bare legs. The place was hot, no AC or fans, and only the doors open for a breeze, so there were flies that kept landing on me. Took 1 hour start to finish for a regular manicure, as the woman doing my nails had to constantly stop to take care of her toddler, feed her a bottle, take her to the bathroom, keep her from attacking me. It was the most unprofessional experience I have ever had, and a terrible manicure to boot! Didn't file or shape my nails, looked awful, I had to remove the polish when I get home. Never going back here again! read more

I tried this salon one Sunday because my normal salon was closed. It was terrible. The owner's kids were running all over the place and she was very distracted trying to pay attention the the baby and service her clients. I had a new girl who clearly didn't know what she was doing. I got a pedicure and a gel manicure. After putting on the color which she slopped everywhere, she then applied the wrong gel on top. She had applied builder gel instead of the top coat gel so when I washed my hands the nails all turned sticky and white. Helen the owner then had to file them off of me and start over again. Still the gel was too thick and gloppy and they ended up looking terrible. I finally said forget it, paid for my pedicure and left for home to soak off the remaining gel. Do not go here. It is very outdated and completely not relaxing at all with all the noise etc. Get a baby sitter Helen, so you can concentrate on your clients. read more
