H cabinets, they have/had a nice showroom on Gunbarrel road with nice people working there. They sell you whatever you need, they take your deposit and you don't hear back from them. You call and they have many excuses for delays. My house remodel to sell it is waiting for them to install the kitchen. I am loosing money in this house every day that it is not listed for sale. They don't answer the phone either. So frustrating !!!!!! read more

This company took $100,000 check from my customers 2 months before filing bankruptcy. This man knew his company was going under and he continued to take deposits and paid in full checks until the end. Apparently Gary is the new GM after his business was bought out so extremely troublesome that he's allowed to move on while we got nothing. No cabinets, no refund, just and offer to build some of the cabinets after the buy out but only if my customers put down another $30k lol!!! Who in their right mind would do business with a company like this?? Apparently accountability is dead for business crooks in that area. read more

So typical poor business management, bankruptcy, then bought by an investor, 3H. Now back in business! Customers get screwed and Hitson gets bankruptcy protection. If I could give 0 stars I would. Took our second payment of $21,000 on March 7. March 31 he laid off all employees and put his manufacturing facility up for sale. Stole our money with no intention of providing us cabinets. We are out $42,000 as are a lot of other customers!!! read more

our cabinets were supposed to be installed mid September. it is now November and we have no kitchen. Today the excuse is that the missing parts were supposed to have been delivered yesterday. The problem is that they don't know where they were delivered. It's beginning to sound like the dog ate my homework! We are about to cancel our order. read more

I never leave reviews. That being said, I urge you not to use these people. Most unprofessional and frustrating experience I have ever had with a service company. They have you pay fully upfront, give you a "ballpark" of when service will be complete, then the delays start. Took well over a year to fully get our cabinets installed. Installers are poorly skilled, the cabinets were poorly finished, had to be taken apart and refinished, which added months. We still have a panel that sticks out like a sore thumb that is a different from all of the other panels because it is original finish. Still have several places inside cabinet that we marked for repair that they never got to. Will not call them back out to fix these things as we have been burned too many times by their incompetence and lack of skill. I paid my contractor to do the finish work at the edges of the cabinets (caulking, filling in gaps, etc). He did an awesome job and got the outside of the cabinets looking the way Hitson should have finished them. I get that in the past two years they have had personnel and supply issues like everyone else, but the lack of communication and poorly estimated dates for different phases of the project were infuriating. It was extremely disruptive to our life to plan a kitchen demolition around Hitson's supposed ready dates and then find out that they were months out from having the materials needed to install cabinets after we had already demoed. I would have given them 3 stars if they had only communicated well and made realistic projections about install dates to allow us to minimize family disruption. On top of all this, no apologies were made and Mr. Hitson got defensive when my contractor went to their office to ask about the delays and poor communication. Hands down worst home improvement experience ever. read more

This was a small project of $2900.00. When the cabinets were installed Hitson did not have all the parts (missing screws and end panel.) They have no idea when the parts will be ready. They said it was my fault because the job was so small and that I would just have to wait. 6 months? They have no idea. Probably have to go to court to get the cabinets done. read more

We hired Hitson Cabinets almost 3 years ago. I chose painted cabinets for my kids' bathroom. Never was I told that I might not want to choose that. Basically, within a month, my children's toothpaste had eroded the paint from the cabinet doors. They came and "fixed" them. It happened again within another few months. They never responded to those complaints. The painted cabinets in my bathroom have been fine, as well as the cabinets in the kitchen. I will note that the bumpers have never stayed in place. I had better luck with the contractor grade cabinets in my last house. I am still disappointed. read more

October 15, 2015 To the Prospective Hitson Cabinet Customer: Building/remodeling a home brings stress and unending decisions. Working alongside Hitson Cabinets has, by far, been the most pleasurable step of our home-building experience. I can still remember the wow factor that Hitson Cabinets presented when we rounded the corner of the Chattanooga Spring Home Show. I had never seen a kitchen that made me ache inside like their model did. We immediately inquired about their company and were extremely pleased with Jeff, their tech guy, who ensured us that our wishes could be granted using virtual blueprints to create our dream kitchen. Jeff was so knowledgeable and thorough that he sold us on Hitson Cabinetry for our home. We made an appointment soon after and met personally with Gary Hitson, the owner, who gave us a tour of his industry and listened to our desires. We were so impressed that we not only ordered our kitchen cabinets but also our two and a half baths, laundry room, and mud bench cabinetry as well. Over the next few months, he and I formed an easy-going working relationship through email and phone calls. He was patient with me, answered all my questions, and even welcomed my MANY Pinterest pictures! On our final meeting before construction of the cabinets began, I began to see Gary's true desire to meet the needs of his customers. I have Muscular Dystrophy, which limits my strength as well as poses a possibility of one day being in a wheelchair. Gary saw my need for pull-out cabinet drawers and even discouraged features that he felt would not be easy for me to use in the future. He could've said, "Yes, sure. We will add that feature," while all the while focusing on the money he would make off these add-ons, but instead, he wanted what was best for me. I appreciate feeling like I matter, and Hitson Cabinets made me feel just that. Installation day: what a breeze! His crew was phenomenal. Kind and courteous, they worked tirelessly to make sure no detail went unnoticed. No scrapes, no trim, no slide-out drawers were left untouched. They WANTED our home to be special. If they've dealt with thousands of other customers, I would never know. They made me feel like I was their only and most important client. I could only wish that every part of the home building experience had been as smooth as working alongside Hitson Cabinets has been. From day one, the cabinets were the most important aspect of the home for me. When I walked in my house on installation day, my tear-filled eyes and ecstatic screams were the true indicator for my feelings about Hitson Cabinets and their work. We remodeled our kitchen and contacted several cabinet companies including the big box home improvement stores and Hitson cabinets came out on top. The best part was the custom aspect of the job. Plus they completed the job on time and at a very good price. We are very pleased with everything they did. Great job!!! read more
