This event occurred on 1/26/26. Immediately following Snowstorm Fern that blanked most of the Midwest in deep snow. There I was, at 1am. Stranded near to the FastPark&Relax in Indianapolis. I crashed my low to the ground car right across a short raised median, and couldn't move it. Good Samaritans came by and tried to help me. My car was firmly jammed at 45 degree angle, perpendicular across the median. Can't go back, can't go forward. Couldn't even turn. In either direction I hit the curb. The only thing that will get me out is a tow. I call insurance to use my roadside assistance - They can't get me anyone until 5PM, THE NEXT DAY!! Bulls*it. I can't wait that long. I called another towing service - They weren't going to be there until 4am. At around 2:30am, someone from Hix Wrecking and Towing just happens to drive by my car. They ask me if I need help. I plead: yes. I need help. Please get me out of here. They attach tow hooks to my car, and drag my vehicle across the median. Minutes later I was free. Now It did cost money, but I have zero problems paying for it. Businesses have bills to pay just like the rest of us. It was $150, which I was able to pay by card. I talked to someone on the phone and was sent a link to a website to pay my bill. Good thing, because I didn't have any cash on me. I'm sorry I never got your name, but if you were the employee in tow truck 47 that night, you were a godsend. There's no way for me to know how much longer I would've been stuck in the freezing cold had one of your trucks just not happened to drive by. Thank you. read more

Recently a stolen U-Haul truck crashed through our backyard. Hix was the 2nd towing company called by IMPD. The 1st left after the decision was made that the snow on the ground would cause damage to our yard or their tow truck might get stuck. Hix Wrecker Service was the 2nd tow truck to respond. Low and behold, their tow truck got stuck, and a HIX wrecker had to DRAG it from my backyard, through my front yard, tearing up my landscaping along the way. I notified the company the next day and was met with Sarcasm, and ZERO concern. The manager told me that "it wasn't HIX's fault that there was a U-Haul truck in my yard that needed removal". The wrecker truck did not come for the U-Haul. They came for their STUCK tow truck which had the U-Haul on it. We were told a representative would be sent out to survey the damage after I continued to press the issue. 4 days later, and no word from HIX. I do not recommend this service due to their lack of professionalism, judgement, and concern for private property. read more

My daughter got into an accident and the police called this place to pull her car out the ditch before I could get to her. By the time we get there this tow place says they'll take it where we want for $130 cash. I'm sorry, I don't keep cash on me. I'm pissed cause I didn't even have time to call my insurance, whom I pay for roadside assistance, before this place took my daughters car. This is at 9-10pm. Daughter just got off work. I call at 8am the next morning and they're telling me I have to pay almost $500 to get my daughters car. This place is trash! read more

Called to inquire about a tow and a girl named Ashley answered and was the rudest thing i had came across. She constantly over talked me and was slurring her words and kept putting me on hold and forgot what I was inquiring about every time she came back on the line. Needless to say I didn't use them for my service! I guess people just hire anyone these days! read more

Huge shout out to Hix Wrecker Service. My son was towing a boat and lost a wheel off the trailer. He was stuck on the side of 465, in dark, and AAA really dropped the ball. They did however, give me the number for Hix. The dispatcher was fantastic, and figured out a way to make everything work out. Then the tow truck driver knew a local place that could fix the trailer, which was a big help. read more

Horrible! Son had absolutely awful experience with this company. Tried to contact the owner several times and never called him back!

The tow came in a timely manner considering it was 2 in the morning but the guy who towed my car ended up doing damage to my car. The damage was quite expensive and i do believe the manner in which it was towed was completely wrong. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. read more

These people take the cake. They created a scam to tow unsuspecting Americans at the Donald Trump Rally November 2, 2018. They towed people and hid out and towed more unsuspecting people over and over as long as he could get them for hours and hours. Then charged us all over $200 to get it back. And made it almost impossible to get because, at least , my truck was in my husband's name so he had to drive 2 hours to get me the next day. Plus proof of insurance and registration and 2 forms of ID. Wouldn't let us get our phone chargers money coats anything out of it right there in the lot just do we could survive it was like 38 degrees. It happened to so many people you couldn't get an answer on police stations. People were fighting with them, fighting with each other, it was unreal. These are terrible people to do this to others. We sat 15 minutes before a 911 operator answered us ( there were angels around that night tytyty)and got a machine at the other PD. They screwed up the entire town that night. So, if you need a tow company in Indi, just outta principle, call anybody other than these scammers cuz YOU WILL PAY. Very jaded. I'll never spend another dime in Indianapolis. Tow drivers? I don't know what happened to the other two people in this review area, but my wife and I have an excellent, excellent experience! Michael was great, he was there in a Jiff, a little ahead of what they promised, took care of us, and was super, super nice. Awesome experience, all in a very short period of time.
